    Cool guide)
    Thanks)
    As a game room designer, I'll add: it's important to use the basic rules of game design. If you want players to be truly passionate about:
    1) learning curve
    2) search and accumulation of points
    3) unexpected turn in the middle of the game
    4) fast dynamic ending

    Thank you for this! May I ask a question? How do I get jpgs or pngs with good resolution? When I import mine the text looks blurry! Thanks so much!

    • @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom
      @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Chris! Thank you for watching and commenting. It is hard to say for certain why you are getting blurry images without being able to see exactly how you are saving. It could be a compression issue, pixel issue, or resizing issue. Don't resize before saving and save as a PNG. PNGs usually turn out clearer than JPEGs. Hope that helps!

    Do you have a blank google slides template with different puzzle ideas? I think this would really come handy because I really like some of your puzzle ideas but need to adjust the content to my grade level.

      Thanks for watching! I do not have templates. When purchasing any of my premade escape rooms from my store, I provide an editable version of the Google Forms so that teachers can adjust for their students as needed. A few questions... can you set this up for a whole class to complete at one time? Do you have a video of the escape room being played? I've never seen a digital one in action. I attended a real one once, but had to rely on my friends to get us out! 😳

    • @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom
      @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! Thanks for watching. You can have your students complete the escape room at the same time. But, keep in mind that when you share the escape room they will each have their own copy. So, they will each be working independently on the same task at the same time. If you are new to using forms, I also have a video with Google Forms tips and tricks that can be helpful. You can find that video here: th-cam.com/video/Ot7iERcKQg8/w-d-xo.html
      At this time, I do not have a video of the escape rooms being complete but they are a lot of fun! I definitely recommend trying it out with students.

    When you insert your clip art as jpegs or pngs, is the clip art secure so that it cannot be copied? Thanks for an amazing video!

    • @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom
      @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      HI Rosanne! That's a great question. By saving everything as a JPEG or PNG, all of the components that make up that image (various clip art, fonts, etc.) are secure. A person could copy the entire image you have created but they should not be able to pull individual clip art and images from the picture.

    • @rosannejensen1463
      @rosannejensen1463 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Vestals21stCenturyClassroom Thank you for the answer. I am a TpT author, and I am not certain that this will be allowed with the TOU for the fonts and clip art that I use. When I use Google Slides, I can set the background, but I don't think this is possible in Google Forms. I really appreciate what you are doing to help inspire and teach others to make learning engaging.

    • @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom

    Great lesson! I have one question. So even if students mark wrong answer, do they able to go to the next room?

    • @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom
      @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! The only way to prevent students from moving to the next question without a correct answer is by using multiple choice questions. At this time, Google Forms does not allow that with any other question type. I usually like to use a variety of question types because standardized testing is no longer limited to just multiple choice questions and this is a good, fun way to provide practice. So, I always make to turn on the option for students to be able to self-check their answers at the end of the escape room so that they can review what they got right and wrong.

    Thank you so much for this tutorial really helpful.
    I created a simple one and I thought I did all the steps right but the problem was the scores the students received were incorrect, when they submitted, supposed to be 16/16 and all of them got 4/16 and they entered all answers correctly.
    I checked everything, made a quiz, point value, etc. cannot figure out why is not giving the right scores.
    Do you have any tips for me??
    Thanks!!

    • @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom
      @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Melissa! Thanks for watching. If the points aren't showing up correctly, then there is something wrong with the way you set up your correct answers. If you are using short response answers, students must type exactly as it the answer appears (including capitalization). So, it is good to type all possible answers a student can given as answer choices or provide specific directions to students (such as: "Type responses in ALL lowercase letters." For MC, double check to ensure you have the correct answers. I sometimes find that I made a mistake when I go back through. Hope this helps!

    Wonderful! You know, as an Iranian subscriber watching your inspiring and useful videos is a great escape from harsh conditions in my country I guess my students will enjoy these kinds of games ☺ especially now that the leader of the country boycotted the effective covid vaccines and people should get vaccinated by fake ones, mind you, we aren't even allowed to surf youtube freely unless we use VPNs and a bunch of proxies. So, its really uplifting for me to be able to communicate with you guys on this platform... YOU ARE AMAZING , and I would greatly appreciate it if you kindly bring up more brilliant ideas for online language lessons.

    I have one question. I am getting acquainted with the escapes rooms...do I understand it right when I think that only after getting all the answers right, the door will open? Because at the end of the video there is a score 17/24, I thought that one couldn't escape if he didn't get all the answers right. Thank you.

    • @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom
      @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Lucie! Thanks for watching and commenting. You can set up a form so that the form only moves to the next section if a student puts in certain response. I show how to do this around 5:59 in the video. Keep in mind that you can only use this setting with multiple choice questions and this can only be done with one question. For example, it is not possible to move to the next section based on the answers students put for several questions. I also have another video here on my channel where I go more into detail about Google Form settings and ways to use Google Forms. You can find that video here: th-cam.com/video/Ot7iERcKQg8/w-d-xo.html
      I hope this information is helpful!

    In google forms, can we add feedback for both Incorrect and Correct Answers? It seems that it's just giving choice for one or the other, but not both.

    • @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom
      @Vestals21stCenturyClassroom  ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the question type. You should be able to for multiple choice but I don't think you can for short response.
