Filthy, why not settle your cap on the hill with the mountain (bordering the mountain, lake, and sheep)? Both salt would have still been in range, albeit not immediate. Watched your guides and wasn't quite following that decision. Great game man, love your channel.
+Wmets16 Lake games are going to be very short, the mountain is way too long term for them. The immediate salt is super valuable.

This game is fucking hilarious, Filthy getting the god-roll and literally hounding and lasering anyone down with archers who comes to scout. 10/10
I remember one game, I found 3 natural wonders all in a 15 tile radius from my capital, it was already at the point when Spain gets 500 gold for each Natural wonder it finds first.
This is a unique type of gameplay, and I wonder why no one is doing some strategy multi-player gameplay anymore.

His schedule says there will be a civ5 stream this Saturday. Darkest dungeon just got released and Xcom 2 will be out later this week so there probably won't be as much civ5 content for awhile.

It confused me too, I guess the early production from hill city and increased city strength is worth it? Kinda wild to me, I'd never think to move there

Does anyone have any suggestion as to which previous civ playlist are worth watching? the headlines of these don't give any indication about what kind of game it is, in regards of what actually happened in the game. Just what civ got picked. i hope someone has followed this guy for longer than me (1 week) and remember some better ones to watch.

Also, i tend to struggle in online games. Are there any "beginner/intermediate" player level videos for online play, or just general game play. I've watched a lot of your videos and I am getting the hang of some of the strategies of this game, but I am still confused on a lot of it. I also struggle on when to attack specific civs, especially in the early game. Like with the huns or persio, you need to attack right away to use their specific style of troops or else they go obsolete quickly, right? I don't know. There is so much to this game that I find it hard to grasp it, and I have a hard time winning.

Can anybody explain to me that 3rd city placement? It seems aweful, no additional lux, very diminished amount of workabile tiles, aweful growth. His 2nd city could've grabbed both luxes & wonders. Are observatories THAT good or what?
Not for observatories- city for each wonder gets them worked quickly.
What rationalism glitch was he talking about at the start exactly?

It's probably because it moves away from the salt tiles and there's no immediate food tile nearby except the 2 food yield lake. Also lakes is a war map (small map with contested lands and everyone having multiple neighbors nearby) which means the game usually ends quickly and thus making observatories not so great if not useless.
