At 27:30 you should've intentionally baited the warrior into taking the worker. He wouldn't have pillaged your salt, he'd move off your salt, and he'd walk into immediate range of your city, archer, and scout. You'd lose your worker for one, maybe two turns.
I didn't realize for a moment that there was more than 1 part to this game so when Spain moved in I was like "Oh shit, this is gonna be over real soon."
anyone else notice that had he finished chopping the forest ~26:50 and just retook the worker from the barb (archer + city + scout blocking) he would have gotten temple or Artemis?
I was genuinely surprised you weren't chariot rushed for the easy capitol steal from another player. Seeing how the playlist is 10 videos long, looking forward to seeing how a pro plays such weak civ.
Those max duration turns are painful. Honestly what do you need a minute and a half to do on turn 50? Are they like running algorithms for every decision that they make?
you get a free merchant you can improve your tiles faster turning around bad city states into use-able ones, you get less culture impact so its easier to get all the commerce and rationalist policy's. all tradition gives you is a little bit of growth and an early aqueduct but still makes every city you puppet hurt more then help for a lot longer then liberty. Your also stuck in 1 city much longer with tradition.
@@keiganm1287 With Venice you have to get a mega sized capital to work every specialist slot. Yeah, a free merchant of Venice is nice but the growth, happiness and gold are way more important. Also city-states have no problem improving their tiles. By the time you buy a CS you won't need a worker for that city anyway.
@@goclbert Well 3 years later metas change but I still say it's worse. You don't take advantage of merchants early and steal cs anyone can just out hammer you to death. 1 city even a really big city is still an easy Target.
King Taylor Venice is my favorite civ for single player. Poland is my favorite civ for multiplayer. Celts is my favorite civ for when I want to show everyone how awesome I am.
Where do you find the people to play these games? Are they your friends or is there some site where i can find people for games? I want to try multiplayer Civ but it is so hard to find people to play the full game. Btw. Great videos, keep them comming! Hope to see a culture or science victory in MP some day!

i think going for artemis that late was greedy. you could have gone straight hanging gardens and then gotten colossus in time

Always tortured when I play Venice because of all the early expands that I can't expand to because no settler...
In my experience I enjoyed a Venice game single player with A I because its bonuses can be used in single player.

Chopping might be more efficient then the early mine or camp just because it saves you a turn on hanging gardens which gets you to your hammers JMO

No quitter's steam group. It's a civ5 multiplayer steam group.
If No quitters is too hardcore just go to random lobbies and find some nice people and add them .
