10 gold is a higher production value than 2 hammers. Think gold is about 2.5 - 3 per hammer. Then there's the applied value of having the option of reserving those hammers at the cost of having to pile up a bunch of gold to actually use it on something of course.
kind of but it doesn't stack on top of existing production. So a bunch of buildings will come out later regardless of gold's overall value in comparison to production. It's kind of like splitting up your production capabilities into 2: 1 for your production and 1 for your gold which you'll eventually use to buy something.
I guess the governor gives score to tiles depending on the focus, like in production focus production is 2 everything else 1 or something like that, so 10g is still better than 2prod
I'm pretty sure production focus doesn't just look at production, it will also pick up food if you have a big food tile, for example if you have Lake Victoria, it might pick that over a 1 production desert stone.
i had this same problem as his i think in early stages that wonder also had production and while its yield changed for the game the governor may not of been updated.

Son do minh No it does not. It goes to the one that has the more production. If a wonder costs 120 hammers, and you both have 117 left, but the first produces 4 hammers per turn and the second 3 hammers per turn, the one with 4 hammers per turn will get it.
FrasierCraft That's not correct. In multiplayer, simultaneous turns, if two players finish a world wonder on the same turn it goes to the host, then player 1, then player 2, etc. The only things that max hammers go toward are world fair/international games/international space station
Happiness: + 9 baseline happiness + 2 from discovering 2 natural wonders + 3 * 4 from 3 unique luxuries + 4 from a crab to silver trade + 5 from tradition policy of -1 unhapiness for every 2 citizens in the capital (he has 9) 9 + 2 + 3 *4 + 4 + 5 = 32 Unhappiness: 9 + 4 + 2 = 15 total villagers 3 * 3 = 9 from nr of cities 15 + 9 = 24 32 - 24 = 8 as shown in the timestamp
when you said ".. that doesn't get me an observatory" (at around 1:10) were you considering moving 1 tile closer to the mountain or adjacent to the mountain, which in that case why couldn't you build an observatory?just to clarify

For every extra 2 food it is converted to prod. So lake Victoria with 6 food is equal to a 3 production yield tile.
After getting shafted in that last Inca game I bet it felt good to steal that 500 gold
