    I have two MARIN MTB's, the Bobcat trail and the latest Rift Zone 1. They handle well and I'm never disappointed. Sturdy quality at an affordable price. Perhaps this Alpine E-bike will be next! Nice review!

    Probably the single best value eMTB on the market right now. The new Ploygon Bromo N8 comes very close (and is $300 cheaper), but the Marin seems to have the better price to spec ratio.

    Nice review. I am getting back into riding after a 30 year break. I had a rift zone XR on order. But then I started seeing reviews like this one talking about how great this bike is. What really did it for me was the loam wolfs video showing the rider riding the alpine trail for an hour, then took the E2 on the same paths for an hour. He did twice the distance, had more speed, burned more calories in the same hour. The the others showing how fun the bike is in an urban environment as most of us arent going to be bombing down the gnarly rides most of the videos show. I was able to catch a deal and the last 2 xl's were gone from Marin in a couple minutes. Now to hurry up and wait for it to get here then the weather to break here in ohio.

    If this bikes handles like my 2021 alpine trail 7,you guys are in for a good time. Don’t let that head angle scare you away. With that steep seat tube angle it’s actually a good peadeling bike. I just need to upgrade to a coil or a fox x2
    For the rear and it’s dialed

    • @jdroofcleanpw

      I'm in Florida, and was looking at this bike. Any particular reason you think it's bad for the east coast?

    • @rstrakovsky
      @rstrakovsky 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jdroofcleanpw lol, I don't count florida as east coast. But in all seriousness, I don't think super slack, super long bikes work where I ride (the mid-atlantic), because our trails tend to be rocky and tight, but not particularly steep or long descends. So the advantages of slack bikes (stability at high speed) are negated, while disadvantages (awkward maneuvers at low speed, tight spaces) are magnified.

    • @jdroofcleanpw
      @jdroofcleanpw 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, we've got a lot of flat, narrow, winding trails. I see what you mean. Some of the bikes I've been looking at I thought would be good for what I'm doing since they are labeled as trail bikes, but the more I learn about geometry, even bikes labeled as trail bikes are kind of long and slack.

    I didn’t see any comments or mentions about battery life. About how many miles can you ride on the battery (mainly looking to get an ebike strictly to help me make the climbs to get to my fav downhill trails) There’s always slower longer climbs to get to some of the trail heads which is why I am seriously looking into an ebike. I don’t ride to get the workout, I ride to have fun on the trails haha. Any help to get to the top I am a fan of. Just curious as how far you can ride befor needing to head back to the truck.

    damn how do you ride that fast on snow?

    • @th_js
      @th_js 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, riding on snow, especially the kind showed in this video is easy. Riding in powdery deep snow and ice is hard.
      Here in Finland we ride at least 4 months on snow and ice on trails and it can be extremely fun or really hard and frustrating depending on the conditions.

    • @adamneulander
      @adamneulander 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@th_js makes sense, seeing as I'm from Los Angeles, snow is a relatively foreign thing to me, so even though I've ridden on snow before, I simply lack a certain degree of confidence others may have with it.

    • @th_js
      @th_js 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adamneulander Yup, self-made "screw tires" make a massive difference, studded tires work fine too but with screws you can seriously lean the bike over on snow and just send it.
      Riding in those conditions is pretty hard but also in my opinion great training for summer even though it's entirely different, just makes you appreciate the huge level of grip you can achieve when it's dry.

      we tested the mt bromo - th-cam.com/video/vYhrgH38vkA/w-d-xo.html and not too long after the marin. in our eyes, the Marin would takes the win because it's so much simpler from a maintenance standpoint. the bromo was really fun and a solid deal for sure! it's funny how the downtube bumpers are identical HA.
