  • The Polygon Mt Bromo is the Indonesian brand's first full suspension electric mountain bike. As expected, it features a mighty impressive package for the money. What we didn't expect though was the head-scratching suspension design. So how does it work? What's it like to ride? And how does it compare to the competition?
    Read on for everything you need to know about Polygon's all-new e-MTB: flowmountainbi...

    Hey Will I just watched Vital, Pinkbike and Beta and this was hands down the best review! As for the bike I’d go The Bro over a Levo.
    3 Bros for the price of a Levo!

      And now if you’d take price out of the equation, would you still go for the Bromo?
      Is it smoother, better rideable on long technical tours and most important longer lasting than something like the Levo?
      This question is by no means to offend you or to say I’m against the Bromo!
      I’m in for my first Emtb and I want the most fun to ride bike I can get!
      For now on the top of my list are the Levo and the Santa Cruz Heckler and maybe even the Bullit(but only the „low tier“ 7000€ build) but I’m definitely not settled on these so please give me your recommendations!
      I say take price out of the equation because I’ll get it as a company bike which means 2500€ more are neglectable (well maybe not totally, but the additional price doesn’t nearly have the same impact as when I buy the bike. It would only be like 30€ more a month for the high end bike brands - so bikes up to 7500€ are fine with me)
      I’d be very happy to get your recommendations which bike you’d prefer up to this price point.
      Of course it can also be a cheaper bike, but only when it’s due to better riding and not due to lower cost!
      Right now I’m riding a Nukeproof Mega 290 with the EXT Storia Coil shock in the back and the Formula Selva fork upfront.
      I love the feel of this bike, but I want something better climbing (that’s the reason why I choose to go the Ebike route), something that can take me on longer and steeper uphill rides and something that’s still fun to jump and hop around over small natural kickers on trails and maybe even make us of bumps and potholes on fireroads (where the Ebike also helps a ton! Due to the pedal assist jumping is possible even on uphill trails, because of the added speed) so the bike should be light and nimble(in the Emtbs limits of course) and not only a pure plowing machine for taking the fastest and straightest line down a steep mountain.

      @@FlowMountainBikeTH-cam btw, thanks for the amazing review guys!
      I really enjoy watching your reviews lately and #bromosbeforelevos is a hell of a hashtag for a sticker!

      However #levosbeforebromos for some reason sounds just pathetic haha

      @@rolux4853 personally I don’t know or care how good the Levos are? All I know is that is just way way to much money for a motorised bicycle. And plenty of other companies like polygon have awesome bikes for way less than half the cost.
      Sure there are people that will buy em, and some will think they’re great value for money.
      Most people would not notice the difference between fox factory suspension and properly setup fox performance yet alone change there speed or ability. If your one of those that finds it fun to spend 25k on a bike go for it! I personally would rather spend less sort my suspension out and get some professional coaching or gym membership things that will actually make me a better rider.

  • @Rose_Butterfly98
    @Rose_Butterfly98 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Surprised by the new suspension. It's not really floating like the Fss, fs2 and fs3 but I believe like those and in the Xquareone, it probably does the same thing. Even if pedal Bob may not be an issue in emtbs, the activeness will definitely help.
    And yeah, my Colossus T8 is still at the shop, they're trying to find what's making the noise, the Mt bromo has even more linkage bearings.

      How have you found the battery life so far? Too small in capacity? Wishing it was at least 630wt! Martin

    • @WogsRus1
      @WogsRus1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@martinbramston2244 so far I've only done two 2 hour rides with other ebikes, and for the riding we do, it's seams ok. But that's only doing about 24s with 900m climbing in trail. I find I don't use boost much, don't have to, I set my trail to enable me to still have a decent work out. I brought the high capacity charger as stock, it comes with the travel charge, so if we stop anywhere for lunch, aka beer, I can do a top up. I will be buying a second battery, which I can buy cheap so that will take care of any range issues.
      I will add, in the last 200kms, I keep getting surprised just how good this thing is....

    • @martinbramston2244
      @martinbramston2244 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WogsRus1 that's great. After 2 hours of riding did you still have much battery life left?
      Is the front and rear suspension as good as its claimed to be for average trail riding ? Your view would be greatly appreciated before I commit to buy ! thanks Martin

    • @WogsRus1
      @WogsRus1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@martinbramston2244 hi Martin. Sorry didn't see your reply. This weekend I did 24kms with 800m of climbing, mix of eco, trail and even boost and I had two and half bars left. By that stage, my arms were dead. We have some fairly narly rough trails here.
      The suspension is surreal, the rear is so planted it's not even funny. I ride with a few mullets and the like, and this thing eats them for breakfast.
      Supper nimble and poppy and I certainly don't regret it.
      The specs of the bike are wicked and though I will say, the bosh motor I rode recently, felt a bit more punchy but over all, had the same level of assist, just more eager to pull faster first up.
      Not sure what you mean by average trail riding as this thing is more capable them most bikes in the 160mm category, I have no idea what that rear does but is just soooo nice, zero pedal bob and zero pedal input, like a cloud.

    • @FlowMountainBikeYouTube
      @FlowMountainBikeYouTube  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Certainly can! The damper is a fairly modular design, so you could pull out the GRIP damper and fit a GRIP2 damper in its place. I believe the GRIP2 damper sells on its own for around $550 AUD, though it'd be worth checking in with a Fox dealer on both pricing and availability. [Wil]

It usually depends on the bike - we always test on local trails, but where possible we'll try and take a test bike a little further afield to a location that we think will suit the style of bike. Plus, it's always nice to shoot photos in a different environment. For this review, all the riding photos and video footage were shot at the Mystic Bike Park in Bright, Victoria. Nice spot! [Wil]
