Thank you my friend! This one actually turned out much better than I expected with the fold but I’m so happy I tried it. Definitely a pattern I saved so to recreate in many colors I’m glad you love it!😊💛🧡
I'm gonna be trying this pattern with just blue and orange and see how that goes for me. (Orange in the yellow parts & blue in the orange & pink parts)
Hey Riah I love this tapestry! I recently picked up a 110x110 inch tapestry from grateful dyes. Totally stumped on what to do with such a huge project. Any recommendations?
HI! I have been experimenting on different things to tie dye. I was wondering if you have any suggestions on tie dying a shower curtain? the fabric is 100% polyester... is it a wise decision to use the choice fabric. I don't want it to fade not only that but waste my dye?
Hi thank you for asking! Do not use your dye on that! Sorry for the exclamation point but it will be such a waste for you. Polyester is a synthetic fiber so the dye probably won’t stay. I don’t know what dye you are using but any procion fiber reactive dyes such as dharma trading company are for natural fibers. Like Cotton, silk, and rayon. I do know that they make RIT synthetic fiber dye but I have never had a good experience with RIT dye. I really hope this helps you and if you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to ask!!! ❤️
Do you do t-shirts besides tapestry I'm going to start tie dying for the first time and would like some easy patterns to start out with I know scrunch is the easiest one
I definitely do. I have a whole playlist dedicated to tons of different t-shirt designs that you can find here… th-cam.com/play/PLlxEwc3173EZF5SK8IGOVMhHzkP1x6Qhv.html Hope you enjoy 😊
Yes just fold it like I do in the video and be sure to draw your lines even on the extra fabric and pleat fold it along your marker line. I hope that helps and thank you for your question😊
Hi beautiful! I insanely love your vids! You are the reason I wanted to get my hands on tie dye haha anyways I recently have followed a tapestry tutorial of yours:) and I have a question when the dye is all ready and dry do you wash it after or do you not wash it at all! It’s my first time tie dying so and I don’t want to mess anything up haha! ❤️
Hi and thank you for the amazing compliment 😊😍. So after you dye it you let it sit for at least 24 hours and then rinse with cold water until the water runs clear. After that you open it up and check it out. Then you wash in hot water using the textile detergent Synthrapol. If you don’t have synthrapol you can use regular but the colors will bleed more. Synthrapol prevents that from happening. I hope I answered your question correctly😊💜
I have a link in the description box of the video That will take you to directly to Synthrapol on amazon if you need it. Also I always let my tapestry’s hang dry😊
I actually have never ironed any of my items but after they’ve been washed and dryed you should be able to iron no problem. At that point the dye has already bonded with the fabric and the excess has been washed out. I have a hand held steamer I use on my items that I sell that works wonders. Removes all wrinkles and sanitizes in one. I love it. Hope this helps😊
This is super cool Riah! I’ll have to give it a try. I have a 60 x 90 tabletop to make my backdrop out of, this would work great for the two ends. I also had an excellent outcome with your 4 point mandala. It’s on my Instagram channel and I tagged you of course, check it out. ✌🏻❤️
That looks amazing. It's not just a sun. Its a sizzling summer sun. I love the colors
Thank you so much! ☀️
Tricky fold & tie, hard to hold, but you nailed it. Beautiful Yellow & Orange🌞Sun with amazingly placed bursts of🌺Pink!😁👌

Thank you! I always love a good mandala but the possibilities are endless ☺️💚
hi Riah my idea 💡 would be to turn this into a kimono 👘
have u tried making some with this length of material? 🤔😊
That would be cool! I’m not a seamstress at all though 😬🧡

Can this be done with a rectangle? I have a woven baby wrap I'd like to dye but it is long and narrow, not square.
Yes just fold it like I do in the video and be sure to draw your lines even on the extra fabric and pleat fold it along your marker line. I hope that helps and thank you for your question😊

Would ironing items help? Or can you not iron things soaked in soda ash?
