I hope the rebuild is going well, looking forward to the next parts. I just put a deposit down on a Td5 90, hoping I've made a good choice and I don't need a chassis any time soon!
Yes, I suffer from that Paddock shopping basket syndrome. Just need a heater cable for my '89 110. GBP 1500 later..... Never mind, my therapist has prescribed medication and therapy sessions and says I will be better in no time. Looking forward to following this story.
acid etc the chassis then give it a good wash let it dry then start your painting
Excited to see this progress with your Defender! I’m hoping to use Hammerite on my Galvanised Chassis too so will be interested to see how you get on 😃
Nice choice of suspension
Hopefully there will be a sequel soon😃
Great to see you again working the Landy
Always worth waiting for. Thank you
Best wishes! Looking forward to seeing your Defender’s renaissance!
Looking forward to seeing this come together 🎉
Nice project, cant waicht for the next one!
Hvl.
T wash or an etch primer.
Epoxy primer or a DTM epoxy and 2 pck semi gloss black.
Please don't paint it in garden furniture paint..
They are cheap for a reason..
Tis' the year for new chassis' ;)
Great video👍
It won't be the last time your Jimny is towing your landy...😉😁
Lookin forward to this !
Very exciting 😁
Please treat the Chassis with T-Wash before painting galvanised metal or the paint will fall off! I tried Fox shocks on my 110, they are rubbish compared to Koni Heavy tracks!
Thanks. People either seem to love or hate the Fox shocks (most of the negativity I've seen has been due to a lack of durability). But I've got them now so I'll give them a go and may switch to Koni if they're no good. At least it'd be an excuse for another video 😄
Hammerite? God no. Use a decent epoxy like Jotun Jotamastic, sticks better and is much harder wearing. Hammerite and smoothrite are pretty old hat.
Why not Maer chassis? Would have been more tax economical in Europe.
DON'T paint over the fresh Galvanizing, it will 'throw' the paint after a short period. You either need to leave it for a year to weather. Or treat it with an acid first. There are products sold for this but honestly don't paint it without doing something.
I think he knows what he’s doing .
@@ColinGarner-h1t What a stupid moronic thing to say. If he just goes ahead and paints over the galvie then it will flake off within weeks. Maybe you get a kick out of watching someone make a big mistake, there's a name for people like you, narcissist.
I was never going to paint directly on to the galvanising, I appreciate it requires a lot of preparation first. Thanks for the advice!
@@TirsbaekTV I kindof thought you would know as you generally know more than most about stuff anyway. I would've hated to see a future episode where you were having to sort out a common mistake.
Even if this discussion was to help just one of your followers then I feel it's worth mentioning.
E mew for emu please. 🙉🙏👍🏻🦘
