I've been following you for a couple of months now learning about the different front ends and emulators. and I've come to a conclusion , you must really love Retro Gaming
I've been using Project 64 1.6b for what must be 15 years or so now, never had any issues with it, it's always played the games i wanted, I've played through Conkers Bad Fur Day several times over the years, OOT, Majoras Mask, Mk64, GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Lylat Wars, Smash Bros, 1080, Wave Race, Blast Corps, Pilot Wings, SM64, Tetrisphere, SW Ep1 Racer, Weetrix, Yoshis Story all perfect with maybe a few small glitches here and there but nothing noteworthy.
Im using a wireless Xbox one controller wired in the front usb port. I cant configure my controller. Is there something im missing? Why wouldn't that work?
Steve Neufeld Steve Neufeld I’m guessing you’ve probably sorted it by now or given up, but for anyone else wondering I managed to fix this by double clicking the input button with my mouse then quickly pressing the Xbox controller button I wanted. Don’t know if my explanation was clear but just click the ‘up’ square twice with your mouse then immediately push the thumb stick on your controller up. Hope this helps some people!
The controller input didn't work for me, but checking xinput box did. I set my buttons using this i found on Reddit, and it is good: Left stick = analog stick. Right stick = c-buttons. X and A = B and A. Right bumper = Z Left trigger and right trigger = L and R Dpad = dpad.
Ok so not perfect. In a racing or skateboard game, it pulls hard to the right as if I'm turning, but I'm not. I remembered I added a controller plugin to try to get it to work, so I set the default plugin. The game gave an error saying no controller plugged in. So the plugin swap helped, but I'm out of alignment. Any advise? Thank you! Edit: found a solution by increasing the dead zone. I'm at 50%, and may keep pushing that down as far as I can.
I am using a GPD win 2 and when I boot up a n64 game the screen is sideways and not on the screen you can only see half of the game and it is in the corner. Someone please help
Love launch box, but was wondering if there was a way to not see the window for the emulator pop up in that instance between clicking the game and it actually running. Definitely not a deal break, but if there's away around it I would really like to know. For instance, when using say Retropie, you see a small script flash before he game appears but it's hardly noticeable. Looking for something like that. Thanks as always!!
Did you have to install a specific driver in order to use an xbox controller, because ive tried xbox one wireless and wired, ps3, and nintendo switch and nothing works, please help
well i did everything you said to do and it still wont run project 64 Nintendo 64 games. the games import screen goes blank but nothing else. however when i load project 64 the regular way it works. but its not as smooth as yours is but at least it all work. i have over 300 games. the Atari 7600 games all work just fine on launch box but project 64 and Nintendo 64 games wont work no matter what emulator i use any suggestions. please anyone.
Can somebody help me... i know im kinda late but.... where do you download this nintendo 64 file?

Did Project 64 really had adware? I am using Pj 64 since 8 years and I had never adware. I can't even rememnber that there were buttons to install adware in the installer. Do the people who got adware really used the official download? I don't think so.
Setup Project64 v2.3.2-202-g57a221e.exe is OK by Norton, before and after installing. Hey, what ya know - Conker's Bad Fur Day runs! Anyone, please, how do you save your game, your progress in say Conker's?
BTW, I updated Malwarebytes to the latest definitions and scanned my D: drive (which is where I have LaunchBox) and had no problems there, however, apparently mbam looks in your user appdata local because it found 9 PUP problems in the google/chrome portion. What I'm saying is I unticked the C: drive and had the D: drive only selected for the mbam scan.
Hey LaunchBox... Why does it take so long to boot up? LB takes around 13 seconds to load on a brand new top of the range PC with SSD? 13 seconds!!!! Windows on this machine only takes around 7 seconds... :(
I was getting this setup just now, and noticed that there were multiple people like myself that were having a hard time setting up a wireless controller with Project 64. I stumbled across this video in my research, and it helped me to resolve the issue: th-cam.com/video/CjdiLxU766A/w-d-xo.html&app=desktop
I like ETA primes tutorials. Please do some more.

whenever I hear your voice I know I'm about to get all the answers to the questions I have been searching for.
When I exit N64. it exits to the emulator and not Launchbox. Are there any commands I can use to exit completely out of N64?
Thanks for all the awesome videos

You can also try enabling X-Input in the Input Settings and see if that works for you.
@@grantHT1 Thank you this was driving me mad, you would have thought they would have sorted it by now. Cheers
Just installed for first time, and followed this tutorial... No biggy, but there isn't an Emulators folder. Easy fix.
I have a fairly high end rig and can confirm that Project 64 is the better emulator on any Windows x86 computer.

Hey question how do u import the cheats in to the launchbox??
since project64 2.0+ is now open source. i'm assuming the rumors about adware/virus is no longer relevant
really? thx for telling me :D
old version of it where budled with malware i think the new builds are safe

I did everything but when I try to run the game it just says error. please help
I've always had good luck with project64 myself
James Leach Same here. I was heartbroken when I heard they both went paid-for and adware based.

same here for my xbox one wireless. did you get it to work?

it wont let me configure my xbox 1 controller... using it through usb and nothing
Do you have an USB receiver? If so, download the Xbox One Windows driver. Reboot and update all the .Net frameworks.
check the XInput box, it will use it as xbox controller defaults

Though I would also use this for Nintendo 64DD, Seta Aleck64 and some of the dumped iQue Player games.
You must have one swanky internet connection to import the games that fast
MY CONTRLOR WONT WORK

Wow, I knew how to do this before seeing it.
