I recently repotted an extremely rootbound dracaena that probably is around 15 years old or more and the bottom layer of leaves have been falling out, i think i have maybe collected over 25 yellow leaves, im worried the the potting mix i put it in maybe holds too much water. could this be because i over watered it? or just stress from repotting? some leave in the middle of health green leaves have also become yellow. the rest of the plant looks fine though.
Thank you for this video! One question, after I watered my plant, I got a full yellow leaf the next day on the bottom of the plant. Then, as the next 2 days past, I noticed that other 2 leaves were turning yellow at the bottom of the plant and falling off. So I checked the roots (no root rot) and put in a new pot (I haven't given it water yet). And now today, another leaf at the bottom has turned yellow and fallen off. Could this still be shedding? There is new growth at the top. Did I overwater it (I accidentally used filtered water, would that have something to do with it?). Thank you so much if you reply, I appreciate it 🙏
I came to this video with the same question. Thank you for asking with great detail. I definitely watered her too much. I’ve noticed this before. She did recover and she’s generally very happy my plant. It seems to be a bit too easy sometimes caring for her (watering so infrequently) and so I proceed to drown her. ( Not on purpose of course).
It’s not getting enough light probably and is not consuming much water making roots wet for a long time. Try shifting to the best light in house and give it few weeks to see if it gets new growth
