I bought two of these, one for outdoors and one for indoors. My indoors wasn't happy at all so I moved it out and now it's thriving. They have a little shade from a palm tree but mostly they're in the sun and they're really happy.
Thank you for sharing Janet! I love reading your experience as it also helps me learn more ! Yes, in my experience they really like sunlight and thrive with bright light for sure
Hi, thank you for the informative video. I am wondering how I can stimulate new leaves growth. I am trying to revive a neglected plant that has grown too tall and lanky with just a few leaves on top. Thank you.
Hello Lucia, Letting tap water sits for 48 hours isn't a good idea. The water will evaporate, not the chemicals, so you're just going to end up with more concentrated chemicals. :)
True. I used to work for a water utility company. Current industry practice is to use chloramine as a disinfectant. Unlike chlorine, chloramine does not evaporate or break down in still water, which is why they switched. So, you can get tablets at the pet store, where they’re available to prepare water for fish tanks.
Hi, I've had one for a little bit and the tips are getting really brown so thanks to your Video I'm going to give it more light and see what happens. I'll let you know in about a month if the leaves are up and they have stopped turning brown. Thank you
Hi! Brown leaves are common in the dracaena.. there can be various reasons for it .. I made a video a while ago on this specific topic, maybe it can help as well 💚 you can find it here: th-cam.com/video/40_-I7D3DgE/w-d-xo.html hope it is helpful :-)
Hi! It all depends on the conditions around her and how long it takes for the soil to dry :-) I usually water mine every week or so but I strongly recommend checking the soil just to make sure
My dracaena marginata having issues with shrinking stem and healthy green leaves falling off in winter..could u please suggest me so I can save my plant...
Hi! Thank you for sharing your experience. According to the ASPCA the dracaena is toxic to cats and dogs, maybe some types are less toxic.. but just in case I thought to add just to be safe :-)
My plant was so beautiful and healthy when I bought it. Several months later, the leaves began to turn brown, not just the tips but 1/4 or 1/2 of the leaf. And they are not dry either. I have cut down on the watering but the issue remains. Watching your vid, now I'm thinking it may be because of drafts... It's near the window because my apt gets zero sunlight and is pretty dark. Do you think a UV light would be good for it if I move it away from the window?
Hi! Thank you for sharing your experience here. I made a video a while ago talking on different reasons for browning leaves on our dracaenas (it can be very common and caused by various things) you can find it here: th-cam.com/video/40_-I7D3DgE/w-d-xo.html (hope it is helpful!) a normal grow light can be helpful for sure! I'd recommend a full spectrum LED light. One of my favourites is PlantSpectrum from Mother, you can find my experience here: th-cam.com/video/7TYDWzpoYJU/w-d-xo.html Let me know how it goes :-)
@@PlantsandLucia Thank you! I re-watched it :) It may be several things affecting my Dracena... I will try the grow light, the tap water trick and the neem oil (although I can't see pests).

Yesss! It is a really nice one 💚💚 let me know if you find one for your place 🥰
My dracaena does not have red edges. Do some have all green leaves…or could it be a different plant?
Thank you.

My first houseplant. I thought it was so pretty. I got a 10 inch for only $10. It's a little dry with a few yellow leaves. What can I do to save it?
I have a big Dracaena Marginata Kiwi and one of the stems is getting wrinkled. What could this mean?
do all dracaenas need filtered water?
Trunk is leaning in dracaena marginata what do I do?
💚
Help: mine is shading the leaves while they’re still green… :(((
Can this plant be watered weekly?

My cats love to eat it and nothing happens. I really don’t think poisonous for pets.
