I have been saying this whole time the 1.5l are not bad engines. You HAVE to maintain them and treat them well and they will treat you well back. People do the bare minimum to maintain the 1.5l engines because they’re Hondas and then turn around and blame Honda when there’s an issue. I trust Honda and trust myself to maintain the 1.5l properly so I traded in my 2018 civic 2.0 for a 2024 accord EX 1.5l. I also bought a 2024 HRV sport with the 2.0l civic engine because Honda makes the best 2.0l in the world in my opinion. I’m sure this accord will treat me just as well as my HRV with proper maintenance. Don’t get a 1.5l if you’re lazy on your maintenance

look at the new passport they run on non cvts and bigger engines without turbos, so your doing less maintenance long term. Just trade in the civic at this point. Your lucky to get something out of that thing tbh,
Just an FYI, in your 700K+ mile Civic, did you use regular 87 octane gas or premium (91 or 93 octane)? Thanks. I'm seeing a lot of videos popping up saying the head gaskets in Civics were blowing due to people using regular 87 oct gas. I have an SI & run 87, no knocking or anything to suggest I'm doing anything wrong.
A lot of what you need can be easily done yourself if you have the time and a little motivation. Could make for good content as well. For the sputtering I’d replace the plugs and fuel pump if they haven’t been done already.
@@ImleocalmI'm honestly surprised the car that long despite Honda's recent poor build quality. I'm curious to know what happened. Maybe a short video would be good.
I got a question would a 06-10 dodge charger rt be a good car after graduating high school they are worth about 6-10k for a better condition one and I currently have 2 years of school left and am interested in them as well as cars like 06-11 civic Sis
I'm not knowledgeable regarding chargers. I just notice people run them very hard. Civic sis are know to be run hard too. Finding a good used car is difficult today. Thanks for watching! 😁
Don't put too much emotion in material things. I catch myself doing that sometimes myself. But, choose 1 or the other...keep the used Civic or buy a new Civic. It's only expensive 2 Civics. I'm thinking if it were me, I would hit a million on the used one, because you might get a brand new one for free if you hit 1 million, whereas if you bought the other Civic, they might see you don't need one, and pass you up for that free car. You'll get faster to that 1 million with just the used Civic alone. The used Civic is paid for and insurance is cheaper on a used Civic than a new one with financing. You may be able to take your time fixing things like your turbo with what would have been your financing payments. Pay yourself those financing payments for fixing your car. You might even want a separate bank account for only fixing car issues or envelope system. It's totally up to you, but choose one. If you really feel like parking it, it may stay parked, so get rid of it. That's my opinion. I currently have parked a vehicle and in similar situation, and know I won't fix, so getting rid of it. It also will cost about $10,000 to fix, which is more than the value with it fixed.

Let me guess... original tires on that car, too?!? I'm going to have to call B.S. on that mileage. You claim that you racked up that mileage in just 6 years. (A 2017 model shown in 2023.) That's over 350 miles of driving EVERY SINGLE DAY of those 6 years without fail. If you averaged 60 miles per hour, that's 5 hours and 53 minutes of driving per day. Every day. Non-stop. For 6 years straight. No sick days. No weekends. No breaks. EVER. If you only did this for commuting to a job M-F, then that's almost 500 miles a day. 8 hours and 15 minutes of driving averaging 60 mph. Longer than a normal full-time 40 hour work week just driving non-stop. No fuel breaks. No bathroom breaks. No COVID lockdowns. Just drive Drive DRIVE. So... yeah... I'm calling B.S. Even if you bought the car on January 1, 2017 and were reporting that mileage on December 31, 2023 - making it a full 7 years instead of 6 - then that's STILL over 300 miles a day without breaks or 425 miles a day only M-F. My guess is you just hacked the interface (which is apparently easy to do in that Civic) just to drive TH-cam views. That's MUCH easier than actually driving 10 hours a day with breaks for fuel, food, and bathroom. I had a friend hack his to show his company's logo on the startup screen in the dash. Final verdict? TOTAL B.S.

A turbo engine needs maintenance like we need water. Lol. Points taken and thanks for watching! 😁
@@Imleocalm the fact that you’re willing to buy another 1.5 says it all. Thanks for the great content ! 😊

Not sure it counts, since it's just 1 gear per-say. Thanks for watching! 😁
look at the new passport they run on non cvts and bigger engines without turbos, so your doing less maintenance long term. Just trade in the civic at this point. Your lucky to get something out of that thing tbh,

Better late than never! I guess......
I've never used anything other than 87. However! I use WaWa gas only. Some gas stations have lower quality gas.
@@Imleocalm Thanks!!

Update coming soon. Very busy and traveling. Thanks for watching!

@@Imleocalm yeah no problem bro keep up the good work
Don't put too much emotion in material things.
I hear you. I have videos coming answering all the questions about what's next. Problem is it's been snowing with freezing temperatures in my area so the videos are delayed. Thanks for watching! 😁

10 grand seems a bit much, no?
Full polyurethane bushing kit is about 500 bucks, 4 shocks about 400 bucks, full engine seal kit about 500-600? Rod bearings about 100 bucks. Timing chain about 150 bucks.
Turbo rebuild kit no more than 200-300 bucks.
Fuel pump about 100-120 bucks probably
Water pump about 100 bucks.
Valve stem seals about 50 bucks.
Wheel bearings about 500 bucks

I agree $10k is too much, but the cost isn't coming from the parts, it's going to be from labor. A lot of the parts you listed is replacing parts in the motor - which shops always charge more for since most car owner's, even do-it-yourselfers, are scared to do.
@@racequad9 I'm not quite familiar with labor costs in the US, where I live (Colombia) a full engine rebuild will cost about 700-800 bucks in a Honda focused shop with really good experience, about 400-500 bucks in a normal shop, it takes about 2-3 days of full work.

You not getting a new car for "nothing". Perhaps you mean "nothing down" with a big fat car payment coming every month. The markets have shifted and there is demand for people to see the longevity of vehicles side a lot of people are going to be keeping their cars. You have a 700k car. Vlogging Cross country trips and the maintenance you do it how the hell you log that many miles so fast is interesting. IMHO the Internet didn't really need one more video zooming along in a new car. A year from now that video is wack where you keeping Methulesa running is always going to be interesting. Just my 2 cent but do what makes you happy.
Car payment, indeed. I meant no money down and no payment for 2 months. The money is spread out over time, and the available cash can be invested.. I'm definitely keeping the car though. Thanks for watching! 😁
Plz mirror your video before you post it.
Your car need so much money that means you did not do maintenance on time and threrw is no such thing as free if you spend 3-4 grand on this car you will car that you know in good shape or if you are bored with one there famous saying in my culture even mosquito does not bite for free.I have never watch your video i odnt know if you do maintenance but i am surprised you got almost 800k and all you need 3-4k of work if you sell this car it will be absolutely worth nothing
Thanks for watching! 😁
Let me guess... original tires on that car, too?!?
I'm going to have to call B.S. on that mileage.
You claim that you racked up that mileage in just 6 years. (A 2017 model shown in 2023.)
That's over 350 miles of driving EVERY SINGLE DAY of those 6 years without fail.
TOTAL B.S.
Hard to believe, i know. Thanks for watching! 😁

Not "hard to believe" at all.
It's physically impossible based on the bogus information you relayed. Can you show me the gas receipts for every mile of that 500 miles per day travel? NO... you can't because it's a lie.
You're also going to try and convince me that during the Covid lockdowns you were STILL able to rack up 500 miles a day? ...that you have never been sick a single day of those 7 years? ...that you never once encountered rush-hour traffic in your 10-hours-a-day driving regimen?!?
