Shaggy Shawn cold blooded animals can’t make their own heat so a blanket wouldn’t help them as they have no body heat to warm up the blanket in the first place. Blade Vizor yeah, if they weren’t so popular they would be intermediate. Their popularity actually makes them easier because so many people make care guides.
I’d say it’s primarily because they’re very easy to breed and so the trade is full of them, an ‘easy beginner’ reputation definitely suits people who have a lot of them to sell. Here in Australia keeping reptiles is very different to in the USA and Europe, we can only legally keep native, captive bred specimens. So they are a very popular reptile here too, but you do do need a wildlife license for one, where you don’t with a blue tongue, shingleback or an eastern long neck turtle. It’s a shame you guys can’t access many other Australian dragons, we’ve got many really cool ones.
Probably because they are so easy to handle and tame. The supplies to provide the right care are also easily purchased. They arent terribly difficult if you do the research.

He's so sweet on your shoulder. You can tell he loves you. I'm a mama of a beardie. Love my boy. He's my sunshine and makes life a little easier. I'm glad you got him!! My beardie gets a wild streak in him. Usually during the day he's wild, then late afternoon, early evening he calms down and is so sweet and gives all love
If you ever get *stuck in the cold with a pet* you can *PLACE THEM UNDER YOUR CLOTHES, ON YOUR CHEST, SKIN TO SKIN, TO HEAT THEM!* your body heat will heat them up. It'll help them survive. It's a technique I have used.
I don't have a bearded dragon. But I do have 4 leopard gecko's, a corn snake, a Kenyan sand boa and we'll probably picking up a king snake next month at the Expo. As a kid I always like snakes over lizards.
They are the most gentle lizards I've ever seen! My beardies followed by my Water dragon were my absolute favorite reptiles. I'd love to see you do a Water dragon video btw.
I feel the same about beardies, but every so often I think "What if..." I also felt that way about ball pythons and yet here we are. Years later. I now own one.
When I was twelve I got a dragon but I didn’t know what to feed him so my dad took me to petsmart to ask and a staff member said meal worms little did I know that was only supposed to be a treat and slowly my beloved pet died and I don’t think I will ever forgive that woman for not just saying “ I don’t know go ask one of the other staff members”☹️
Petsmart employees are not always reliable, I did research before getting my sister a hamster, and there were sisters in a tank and the woman was like “oh yeah they’re related they can live together forever” even though I told her that they aren’t supposed to🤷🏻♀️ My mom believed her over me and it didn’t end up well
Honestly, sounds to me like they DID do their research BY consulting the pet store; it was just unfortunate circumstance that the source they thought they could trust (the pet store) was not so dependable after all. My adult self knows better, but I'm pretty sure my childhood self would have assumed I could trust "the people at the pet store." Many of us may well understand that large chain pet stores are not reliable source of information, and WE may realize that it's necessary to consult more specialized sources of information. However, as much as we might wish otherwise, that reality is not necessarily common knowledge.
Hey dude, I love your content about bearded dragons. That’s how I found you. You’re really funny and the roommate situation was one of the funniest kookiest things I’ve heard in a while thanks for sharing!
I got my first Beardie while managing a pet store and we had new babies come in and went on vacation. When I got back there was one little one in the sick room missing one digit and half of his tail. While cleaning out his tank I put him on my shoulder and then got called up front and forgot he was on my shoulder until a lady said my “brooch” moved! He just chilled on me and since I was in charge of his care he just became so endearing to me, and we couldn’t sell him so I decided to take him home. That was 8 years ago and many other pets and reptiles later and he is still my fav.
beardys, from what i seen from other YTers who have 1, tend to always have the best personalities out of all lizards. i prefer chamelons cuz they just crack me up but even they seem to be so shy, beardys not so much. a lizard you can really chill with.
I adore my baby Gizmo, he’s my spikey cuddle bum, tons of personality ♥️ I clip his nails too, very important lol love how yours closes his eyes a lot, cute
Only in this video did I realize that I never saw a crested gecko on this channel. If there's a video with one, i'd like to be directed to it just to confirm my suspicions.
Thank you so much for this video!! I enjoy your personality so much. I wish you had more bearded dragon videos. I've had a baby beardie named MoJo for about 2 weeks. I am still learning about care and you really helped me feel like I can connect with Mojo. Looking forward to more videos!
My beardie seems really smart: He surfs on the glass when he wants to get out, i make him a ramp and he walks in and out when/if he wants to walk around the house, goes to the toilet and bobs his head when he wants to take a bath or poo. He has never pooped out in the house either, only cage or bath :) He loves just wondering in our house and goes to his cage by himself when he wants to go back.
My first beardie Cuddles liked to travel. He'd sit on someone's shoulder under the seat belt. He did in fact have a suitcase full of blankets and stuff, and a separate travel box and a UVB bulb and a heat bulb. My current beardie Luna travels too, but she doesn't enjoy it as much and just sleeps in her travel box the whole time. (The travel box is buckled into a car seat for safety.). Both of them have potty training though, so they won't just...poop everywhere. Which makes traveling a lot easier.
You should name him "Charger" lol it is the whole reason you guys bonded and I would totally love a video of you making a beardie travel bag! I'm sure you're smart enough to put something like that together and itd be a neat tutorial.
I personally love staying at that “simple stage” in animal keeping. I’ve tried to take care of many more and it was becoming unmanageable and not as fun. I have two snakes and while I can appreciate the expanse of reptiles out there I certainly don’t have any desire to expand my ‘collection’, although tokay geckos are amazing. Amirite

@@_idekanymore1319 ha lol when mine grew up he mellowed out
My Bearded dragon: Hold my Cola !
Cohen Buntin you Gould totally get one but get one from a good breeder, and do lots of research and they could live the best life!!! 😀👍
You have amazing b-roll footage skills as well as your herping & editing skills
Thats one reason why I keep walking
6:05 i can just imagine that beardie screeching just like *reeeeee*
He's so sleepy on his shoulder 😭❤️❤️
your content is some of the best in TH-cam
OceanSprinkles agreed
For a child its ok
Cody Kallmes he’s an adult
I like your personality kid ... seriously, you seem all around down to earth... lol just wanted to tell u that!
That's exactly why my kids can't talk me into an electric car😂
If you ever get *stuck in the cold with a pet* you can *PLACE THEM UNDER YOUR CLOTHES, ON YOUR CHEST, SKIN TO SKIN, TO HEAT THEM!* your body heat will heat them up. It'll help them survive. It's a technique I have used.
"Everyone knows what a bearded dragon is."
My class when I show them a picture of mine : iS tHAt a lEpAOrd GeCkO?¡!¿
I wanna be as chill as your bearded dragon. What an inspiration.
You say everyone knows what a bearded dragon is but today my cousin told me he wanted a “dragon bearded gecko” lol
Regular uploads and 20 min video?? We’re in for a treat
I feel the same about beardies, but every so often I think "What if..."
I also felt that way about ball pythons and yet here we are. Years later. I now own one.
Ok the bit about getting him his own briefcase and mini uvb lights etc was adorable and hilarious
Petsmart employees are not always reliable, I did research before getting my sister a hamster, and there were sisters in a tank and the woman was like “oh yeah they’re related they can live together forever” even though I told her that they aren’t supposed to🤷🏻♀️
My mom believed her over me and it didn’t end up well
cursedGalataea Exactly. Normalize doing research before getting any animal, cats and dogs included. Stop impulse buying
Honestly, sounds to me like they DID do their research BY consulting the pet store; it was just unfortunate circumstance that the source they thought they could trust (the pet store) was not so dependable after all. My adult self knows better, but I'm pretty sure my childhood self would have assumed I could trust "the people at the pet store."
Many of us may well understand that large chain pet stores are not reliable source of information, and WE may realize that it's necessary to consult more specialized sources of information. However, as much as we might wish otherwise, that reality is not necessarily common knowledge.
Hey dude, I love your content about bearded dragons. That’s how I found you. You’re really funny and the roommate situation was one of the funniest kookiest things I’ve heard in a while thanks for sharing!
You weren't kidding; I searched up "reptile" and set it to images, and the fourth picture was a bearded dragon
I love your chill af personality
You should name him “Low Battery” 😂
I got my first Beardie while managing a pet store and we had new babies come in and went on vacation. When I got back there was one little one in the sick room missing one digit and half of his tail. While cleaning out his tank I put him on my shoulder and then got called up front and forgot he was on my shoulder until a lady said my “brooch” moved! He just chilled on me and since I was in charge of his care he just became so endearing to me, and we couldn’t sell him so I decided to take him home. That was 8 years ago and many other pets and reptiles later and he is still my fav.
Not everyone knows what bearded dragons are. I saw someone call it an iguana before 😩😩😩
Someone called mine an alligator before
Ugh I saw a kids show that my little cousin and they called a dark green green iguana a bearded dragon smh
That guy didn't know what an iguana is either apparently.
It was a cartoon but yeah
This might seriously be your cutest video yet tbh 💕💕💕💕💕
beardys, from what i seen from other YTers who have 1, tend to always have the best personalities out of all lizards. i prefer chamelons cuz they just crack me up but even they seem to be so shy, beardys not so much. a lizard you can really chill with.
Plus chameleons are so delicate; beardies can kick it hard with you
I adore my baby Gizmo, he’s my spikey cuddle bum, tons of personality ♥️ I clip his nails too, very important lol love how yours closes his eyes a lot, cute
My cat Gregorio has a similar temperament to your bearded dragon, so I recommend Gregory.
omg how ur beardie rests and closes its eyes against ur shoulder/neck,.,,, its so cute
Only in this video did I realize that I never saw a crested gecko on this channel. If there's a video with one, i'd like to be directed to it just to confirm my suspicions.
I think he has some baby ones right now but I could be wrong. He's said he doesn't really like cresties, I don't remember why.

NANI!?
It be like that sometimes
I’m baked out back and that clip of you and bonnabel just killed me
Somebody literally asked if I was OK from next-door
Dude I thought this was the old man beardy until you said he didn't have mbd lol
You should name him "Charger" lol it is the whole reason you guys bonded and I would totally love a video of you making a beardie travel bag! I'm sure you're smart enough to put something like that together and itd be a neat tutorial.
Since y’all met at a McDonald’s, name him Ronald 😊
Or Fry 😂
Big Mac lol
I second that he names him either Ronald or Fry
@@katvance929 my cousin had a cow named big mac
I absolutely adore this little beardie. So chill!
Amirite
You and your reptiles are so cute, I love your videos. You have really helped me with mine.
