@Flare You are sadly misinformed. Changi is profitable and wonderful for Singapore and Singaporeans. You need to crawl out of your shell to embrace the wider perspective.
Kyle's segments of this episode were absolute comedy. I am British (not necessarily proud of it) and couldn't stop laughing at how 3-5 minutes of this video was just devoted to Kyle trying to open his beer in the airport after a rough day. That really was golden footage. I have been to Changi airport twice and it is so beautiful and well-managed. Credit to all the staff not only running the place but also keeping it as clean as it is. Would love to see footage of the cleaners who do such a great job of maintaining it! The world could definitely learn a lesson there.

@@cygnus5156 This entire episode kind of felt to me like it was gently scripted to make the local workers look extra professional and local people victimesque, and westerners as idiots. The travelers without a passport or ticket, the drunk guy, etc. Meanwhile, some of it just felt a bit like a PR piece to me with specially scripted situations being filmed such as the fire readiness drills and big fire tests. I'll admit to being European which obviously opens the door to me feeling insulted, but I feel that, if this were a European airport, it wouldn't be nearly as much of a PR piece. (But maybe I'm just blind to it...) I've seen similar shows centering on Gatwick and Heathrow, but they seemed to focus more on factual showings of encounters with passengers rather than some particularly comedic ones involving a guy struggling to open a bottle or a guy wobbling off into the distance.

Lady is trying to avoid paying excess baggage fee with a different airlines that's not United, or one of its partners, where she claims to have Platinum tier status. If she were Platinum she would know this because frequent flyers or maybe she just flies domestically all the time and doesn't understand international airline policies.
She was just acting entitled and her attitude was really not necessary. But the front desk staff was still so nice and polite, very sweet throughout. Also if she did have Platinum tier status and can probably afford to pay that extra, why not just pay? The problem comes with being "cheap". It's not wrong to get your value's worth but honestly it just makes her look silly.

Kyle is extremely lucky to have a sister that would bail him out. My siblings wouldn't even try since I don't even try lol... Singapore in itself is one of the best countries to invest , very fast network , well cultured people , huge tolerance , good law enforcement , administration etc ….
Singapore is a fantastic nation, I lived there in 1956-60,67-70 then again for a further three years, I felt that Singapore was 'INVENTED by the great LEE KUAN YEW, in the fifties,I watched this great man's efforts closely, he created a vast and high functional island from a poor colony (for the native Singaporeans) whilst Britain had sucked the country dry during its colonial days, Lee Kuan Yew put this paradise island on a straight line, Hard Work, Political Stability and a hard working populace paid off, it is one nation where ANYONE can walk the streets safely wherever they travel on the island. There are NO European nations who could claim such virtues.Terry Offord
The baggage rules in the US and SG are totally different. If she's transiting in SG for the first time I think its reasonable to be surprised given that most people will assume that your baggage limit will follow the airline that booked the 2nd flight for you.
DJ Anchlusszeit yeah. The US uses a ‘piece’ concept, whereas all other destinations use a ‘weight’ concept. Even SIA states that clearly on the website. I’m sure the booking would’ve listed the permitted baggage limit for each sector of her journey. That lady is lucky she is in Changi airport, no other airports I know will go to that length to help you circumvent the weight restrictions. Or they might’ve just done it because of the video 🤷🏻♀️
I was an expat when I was younger and would often travel with just my mom and brothers, and she would often get frustrated with poor customer service and start yelling. I remember the one time she started yelling and it wasn't criticism but instead she was praising Singapore airlines for how amazing they were, and this airport is certainly a reflection of that same service

Lovely airport. Was stuck there for 7 hours waiting for my next flight. Stuck in a good way as it by far the most comfortable airport I’ve ever been to.
I miss traveling, I had tears watching the airport..seems like yesterday that I had my luggage in one hand and my earphones connected to my ps vita waiting in the lounge watching flights while being surrounded by excited and exhausted people all on their way to somewhere. I dint realize how emotional I would get. Life is weird you miss things you never thought you would.

In the video, the lady was going from USA to Singapore to Incheon to Beijing to USA. Doesn’t say anything about an entire degree either.
@@_to_-cn8wd which is why I explained my particular exchange was only for a single semester. I wasn’t discounting that people can go overseas for an entire degree which is fairly common. All I was saying was that I carried 30kg worth for a few months and it was sufficient. The person in the video sounded like she was on a holiday with multiple stops (less than several months). So it was indeed surprising that she needed 60kg. Nothing to do with people going buying more weight, if they needed more weight. Especially on longer trips. By all means go ahead. It’s just that in this video it didn’t seem to be a long trip so I do not know why you are getting worked up over things I did not even say. Or even think.

He solved his problem by booking a flight to Brisbane that connects in Bali. He can then reschedule his flight to Brisbane while being allowed to fly into Bali.

While I’ve flown innumerable times within the US, I’ve never flown outside. Sadly, I wish I had been able to visit Chengi Airport and Singapore in general. Looks like a very special place with wonderful people.
I can’t speak for every country but North America for sure could use to construct Airports where some level of attractive aesthetics is considered not just utilitarian purpose. It would be very nice as well if everything sold there, nearly without exception ceased to be an exercise in price gouging. Personally, I can say I loathe Toronto and Pearson International is just as loathsome. Any time I have to drive in Toronto isn’t going to be good. The highway system surrounding this very large city is an exercise in sheer frustration and in bad weather, significant danger. Not a huge fan of Atlanta either but at least you can navigate around the city easily. At least Atlanta service is better organized, Pearson is just a cluster each and every time with long lines and just generally badly organized.
