Beautiful car why do people put after market sunroofs in those cars if it didn't come with a sunroof leave it alone because it going to come a time it's going to start leaking in the older it gets it gets harder to find seals for those sunroofs a factory 1 u can get everything u need!! I am sorry it reef blue but I will rip that sun roof out find a donor roof with the cross bar for the roof in weld a piece of metal in place of the sunroof people say all it will warp the roof bullshit a good person that can weld it will come out fine little body work that just turns me off about a car with a aftermarket sunroof pretty car tho!!

I've seen Factory sunroof on GT hatchbacks but I've never seen a sunroof on a notchback that was Factory option was sunroofs a factory option with notchbacks I'm thinking it wasn't which means somebody is hacked this one up but I could be wrong
I don't think it was, but i'm not 100% sure. Probably "dealer" installed would be my guess anyway.

Back to stock? I bought one new in '91 and drove it for 14 years - they suck stock. At least compared to modern sports cars. I'm looking at getting a restomod now. To me these are like C3 Vettes, wouldn't have one unless it was a restomod.
I think he was putting it back to stock so he could sell all the parts and make more money on it, but that's cool you had a 91 for so long.

Big head rest seats were 87-89 years and ssp coupes didn't have sun roofs. Nice car though
I'm pretty sure reef blue was a 93 only color too, not sure of the background on this car, but yeah it's definitely not an SSP

I have a 1982 mercury Capri rs 5.0 T top 4 speed 41,132 actual miles . I got it I am the 2nd owner. Needs body work do you do that type work.

I have the no bubble hatch may sale it it has a built motor pony wheels water leaking around tops primed gray cam new exhaust headers.

The guy in this video buys a fully built super charged mustang and then says I want to be all stock. Wrong car to start with. Grinding off subframe connectors, swapping out fuel pumps, gears, axles, stock brakes back in, putting 4 lug back on.. I was making fun of how stupid that comment was.

Hmm, I'm not sure, maybe that was a dealer install instead of a factory install? Really not sure, but that's an interesting observation.
@@GearHead704 a sunroof was not an option on any foxbody as far as I know. It is an aftermarket item only. In 1986 t-tops were offered on select models. Some google searches state that a sunroof was an option from 79-84. Others say it was a dealer option. I dont believe it was an option. Just aftermarket
Any foxbody that has a "factory" sunroof, is actually an aftermarket sunroof. Ford sent them out to a third party to have them installed if the buyer chose to have it
I dont see mine being aftermarket, the whole body is shaped underneath with drains hooked up to tubes that run down my a pillars. Ive looked at plenty of roofs from the interior and mine was NOT just cut open and installed. I have to say your incorrect. I have never looked into it tho cause my body is built for it all painted body color(reef blue) just looked it up, i havethe opr? Style. Saw it on american muscles website. Matches what i have. Done thru a aftermarket company by loads for ford? Like a shelby kindda, they are mustangs

Actually... I have seen two ssp notches with Sunroofs, And a 86 ttop hatch as a ssp, They existed based on budgets of the departments
A police interceptor wouldn't have a sunroof in it. That's where the cop light goes.

Most if not all didn't have a roof light in my state. They were unmarked.

I love FlowMasters! Got some on my own car, and yup you are right modded from the beginning for sure. I just didn't realize the notch was all the rage until more recently, but there were definitely those who knew about them. I want one really bad, but just got the vert for now. Thanks for watching.

And ur right my first new car 87 LX coupe,i only kept it for 6 months driving home from work i saw a fixed up GT and it just looked good. But i hated the GT's drove straight to ford and traded my coupe and regretted it as soon as i drove off the lot. 30 years later I'm driving a GT convertible and now i love it. I believe these cars meaning the GT's are going too rise like they did in 87,88 🇺🇸

Exactly right! She'll pull the ass end sideways through 4 gears and if you can drive, through all 5! This exact car same tires and rims, hot red, 5" cowl induction hood with black windows and you'll see the definition of badassery!

I’m going to tint my Lx but not sure If I want normal or ceramic tint. Ceramic blocks a ton of heat but cost double the price it seems. What camber/caster plates did you get for when you change the springs! Yes I watched until the ending of the video! Lol

hey bro love the videos keep up the good work. Here are some weight differences between some of the fox mustangs. Between both LX 5.0 notch and hatch with a manual transmission there is only a 65 lb weight difference. But between both GT and LX models with a manual transmission there is only a 89 lb difference between them.

Yea it may only be 89 lbs difference but that is a significant amount on a 3k pound car...youre starting out almost 100 lbs less then you can start doing more weight reduction on top of that plus the notch is alot stiffer overall as far as the car itself...hard launches can take a toll on the hatches whereas notches are stiffer

The notch will spin the tires and the hatch will grab harder off the line. The notch will be ever so slightly faster because of less weight but without a perfect launch it won't matter. I had a 91 notch and then a 88 GT and I had slightly better times at the track with the GT because it could leave the line harder.

Also, most police interceptors had 12 gauge shotgun mounted where the Center Council should be. As well as using an automatic transmission. Looks to me like the only thing about that police interceptor, is the badge, that says, police interceptor. There would also be a notch in the driver side a-pillar, and door, by the window from where their Spotlight would go. Replacing the door wouldn't be that difficult. However, most people are not going to do in a- pillar repair. So while the door might not have it, the a-pillar should. Also, 95% of the Mustang cop cars came in Black. Because it was the cheapest paint. And since they were going out to the municipalities. They were going to put their own colors on them anyway. The real test is, where is the VIN number located? Government vehicles usually had the VIN tag bolted to the back panel of the trunk. Because they were not being sold to the general public. They were not required 2 identify them through the DMV. It isn't until after they are sold to the general public that have been tagged is attached. Usually in a permanent fashion. In the military and Municipal Ford trucks I've owned. The VIN was bolted behind the seat.

It's also running a stock cam shaft due to piston to valve clearance with the heads it has.
ah, well I spoke to Scott this week and he said it's now been sold.
Because that tape has been in the sun, it will leave adhesive behind when it is removed. Using adhesive remover on that rubber, will cause it to deteriorate faster . Should've used the green 3M tape. While the vin number will identify it as a fuel injected 5.0. None of the interceptors I've ever owned, had the fuel injection in it. All of them were carbureted engines. Because the police took out the fuel injection. And put in, what they knew worked. It was also rated at around 500 horsepower. Unfortunately, if you wanted the 500 horsepower out of the police interceptor, you had to rebuild the engine approximately every thousand miles. Because they drove them hard. Really hard. And yes, they will catch a Corvette on the highway from a standing still position to a hundred miles an hour... No problem. I did see a Michigan State Police Interceptor. That they toured around as a show car. With the fuel injection package. But like I said. The three that I have owned since 1996, we're carbureted engines. Two of them also had a full posi rear end in it. But once again... That was entirely up to the municipality that owned it. And if you really want to know what they had in the car. You're going to have to ask them. It should be a matter of public record. If any of those police garage technicians are still there, they will have no problem with talking to you about the Mustangs, they built, Once Upon a Time.

Love the notchbacks I've got an 89 SSP Georgia State Patrol lx coupe 1 of 42 for 89 car 798 post 44 Forsyth have owned mine for 22 years .
That's awesome. The Georgia Patrol cars are great. I didn't realize until recently they all had roll bars installed.
GearHead704 Mine still has it they are a one piece roll bar that goes from the floor bolts on in front of the rear torque boxes and at the top at the mounting point for the seat belts .

Jay Jay I'm not on the websites but I found all the information on my car from a man in Georgia that had all the records on the SSP mustangs that Ga had through the VIN number I found the post number Troopers name and mileage when it was sold .
