I never knew Jayne Mansfield was Mariska Hargitay’s mom until I was watching law and order svu with my mom and Mariska was looking particularly beautiful in this one episode and I said “wow benson is such a babe” and my mom said “well when you see how beautiful her mother was it makes sense.” And I looked it up and that’s how I discovered Jayne. She really was a beautiful woman.

If she had shed the blonde bombshell image a bit and pursued serious acting roles, she had enough drive and talent to remain a star. It seems she was so enthralled by her celebrity status that she put all her other pursuits aside. That said, her alleged ties with Satanists was the last straw. Thanks, Karine, for this provocative portrait of the legendary bombshell Jayne Mansfield!
She was really so charismatic...and camp. She had such an objective sense of Jayne as product and celebrity, one of the first people to really have a performative lifestyle and do media stunts for publicity. Long before the Hiltons and Kardshians of this world. But as opposed to them clearly she was also very talented.
I feel like she was the Anna Nicole Smith if her time. Absolutely gorgeous but troubled and kind of the laughing stock of the press. I'm not pitting them against each other because I think they were both gorgeous and Marilyn is Marilyn- nobody can ever be her but facially I think Jane was actually way prettier. Especially when you take into consideration Marilyn had so much plastic surgery on her face she looked completely different than Norma Jean (and that's actually a credit to her doctor he did an amazing job, you wouldn't be able to tell if it wasn't public knowledge) but yea Jayne was one of the prettiest women from that era in my opinion. I wish she made her own lane instead of letting people convince her to try and be the next Marilyn especially when it was Marilyn's heyday at the time, it's not like this was 20 years after Marilyn passed. You can't have two Marilyn's at the same time lol, I think that was a huge reason she was received the way she was, the woman she was imitating was alive and around! Who thought that would be a good idea? Too bad she didn't realize that and make her own lane.
Marilyn Monroe modeled her name on 1920s NYC showgirl Marilyn Miller, and her platinum blonde sultry look upon Jean Harlow (died 1937) and Betty Grable, before the latter's heyday was over.
I love Marilyn, I’m a real fan but I have to agree, this lady is just incredibly beautiful. But I don’t understand why she’s the next Marilyn, why couldn’t we have two beautiful blond bombshells?
Yeah, the tone of voice, gestures and general demeanor was taken from Monroe even though you see it's not really Mansfield. She doesn't look convincing. She should be more herself because she was much more beautiful and talented and yet she ended up being more vulgar copy of Monroe, as they called her: Monroe for poor.
marilyn did NOT have that much surgery on her face and to say she was "completely different" from norma jean is completely untrue. A nose job and chin implant don't completely change your looks. She looked the same, just with different hair and makeup.
I think people see a pretty face & just assume there's no substance underneath. Like beauty and brains can't co-exist; automatically you're disregarded & considered an airhead. Isn't assumption a dangerous thing...

I love Jayne Mansfield and I remember her from the 50s when she broke into the movies. I was depressed the day that she died in that horrible accident.
I’ve been watch your videos for some time now and I just think your terrific!! I’ve seen where people would love to see a quick bio on present starlets and divas, but I’m more concern about Women of the “Classic Golden Era of Hollywood “. Everyone before I was born in the 80’s. 😅 I find that their lives are so much interesting especially to know during a difficult time.
I have to say I absolutely LOVE your voice it's so sultry, calming, and therapeutic. I LOVE your content and I'm always so captivated from beggining to end.
I find it hard to believe that she had memories of the good times before her dad died & she was only 3 at the time. My grandson lost his dad at 2 years of age & his mom at 4. He doesn’t remember either one. And we have pictures around the house & we spoke of them often. I also have a friend who lost his mother when he was 4 & he also doesn’t remember his mom. Only the sadness afterwards.
In my opinion Jayne Mansfield copied her looks from Mae West. The style of her hair and clothing even took one of Mae West's body builder play thing. Marilyn Monroe copied Mae West's style also.
Very, very, sad about her life. I remember when growing up the local Louisiana news portrayed her as being from New Orleans, Louisiana. Now I know that was far from the truth.
Girl you drew me in I was like wow what a blessed woman, blessed with beauty, blessed with talent and intelligence! I felt bad because her “publicity antics” held her back and lead her into obscurity and were not even as bad as so much we see today…and then boom last 5 mins…welp nevermind!
By her appearance right? Cause the beauty is an obvious. But blessed not so much. If you find yourself getting frustrated with my comment I just look at things differently sometimes.
It seems like everyone doesn't do a whole lot of researching someone that we look at in awe. Her daughter is a great actress and I like her persona. I don't know her personally and I didn't know her mother. But any Google search more than just one search engine, will reveal why I said what I said. Prove to me that what is discovered is not a truth. We all have opinions I try to base mine on truth not starry eyed lies.
It's because of you I even know her daughter is Mariska! I didn't even know who she was til this videonand I just saw a side by side of her and her daughter. Keep the info coming mama's!
Idk why and for me it’s weird because the time I was born but old celebrities and their story’s seem so interesting, just can’t put my finger on it. I guess it’s some of the personas they put on but in reality how tragic some of there lives could be sometimes.
Jayne Mansfield was born Vera Jayne Palmer on April 19, 1933, at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, the only child of Herbert William Palmer, of English and German ancestry, and Vera Jeffrey (née Palmer) Palmer, of English and Cornish descent
@@janetczernecki7779 Thank you for that info. There was a lady name Dona Drake who was also an actress during Jayne’s run in movies. She was absolutely beautiful but she passed for white during her time, although she was African American. No, I’m not saying you have to be interracial to be beautiful but they remind me of one another.
I can't get enough of pictures of this woman! She was so beautiful 😍. I definitely believe that her husband brody crossing lavey and lighting that candle possibly influenced their untimely death. It's terrifying to think of it, that is why I don't play with witch craft/voodoo satanic rituals or anything related to it. I definitely won't knowingly form friendships/relationships with people who do.
I literally just learned that.... Marilyn Monroe thought she was basically a copycat and didn't like her 🤣 and was even photographed snubbing Jane at a party, like Mariah Carey did JLo "I don't know her" style LMFAOOO. I had to Google it, because they seemed too similar & I found some old Hollywood tea. Thanks 😁😘
Funny Marilyn said unkind things about her. Personally I think she is prettier than Marilyn and obviously much more intelligent. But I am female and that is simply my opinion.
Marilyn was jealous. When 20th Century Fox hired her She was jealous of Jayne’s bust size and she was jealous of her intelligence and ability to conceive. She was also afraid Jayne would take over her career. She had beef with Jayne but Jayne had no problem with her. Sour Grapes 🍇
it’s really sad on how she passed but it’s crazy dealing with a satanist. I pray and hope that her Children cast that out cuz chillle they were exposed to that
I would love for you to cover Debra Paget! She was gorgeous and performed the dangerous and sensual snake charmer dance when the film academy was much more modest! I love her and she has been is some giant blockbusters during her prime! I always felt she was somewhat overlooked somehow... thanks! 🌸
I totally agree with you, Karine! I wish that more people, actors or otherwise, could just be themselves! To try to be otherwise is to lessen themselves!
Glad to know the truth after all of these years as I'm 72 .I remember hearing the news on the TV she had died from a decapitation. Had no idea she was such a highly educated woman and so multi talented at that.
I think Jayne would have became a bigger star had she been herself. What stands out to me the most is how she would suck her stomach in to try and make her chest bigger and waist smaller. It only made her ribs show unnaturally and look strange. She had talent but thought her body was her ticket.
The trouble with being and acting camp is that it can very easily turn flamboyance into ridiculousness. I think that's the root cause of Mansfield's negative publicity.
It's so sad that she wasn't content with her second husband and children in her amazing pink palace with heart shaped pool he built for her, but had affairs with men who she thought would further her career. They didn't. They only harmed her. Her 2nd H loved her and wanted her to be successful. So sad she wasn't faithful to him, but needed constant attention. I loved her in The Girl Can't Help It - a very funny movie!
It's sad that Marilyn Monroe felt there wasn't enough room for another blond bombshell . I thought Mansfield very pretty and that body shape was just to titillate the servicemen who were missing their women. It wasn't her fault she was objectified but she was smart enough to make sure she got rich . Can you please do Cheryl Ladd and Farrah Fawcett Majors
Very informative. I had heard about LeVey before, but never saw the pictures. I had no idea she was a genius. Would love to hear her play the violin. Great photos as usual...
This episode was one of my faves from you! I love your channel and I never really see many people on yt talk about Jayne Mansfield in the beautiful way you did! Xoxo🌹Also throughout her career she did embrace and share that she was Catholic always.
Jayne Mansfield was beautiful in her own right. She didn’t need to be compared to Marilyn Monroe… she loved her life. And she loved her life. Good for her.

I first discovered you though your Diana Dors upload. My goodness do you have a talent for researching, narrating and showing these Hollywood bombshells inside stories. Thank you for clearing up the beheading myth. I did not know Mariska was her daughter (love love love SVU....With Stabler) also didn't know she was in the car when the accident that happened. SUBSCRIBED!
It's really cool you cover Mansfields' influence on the punk rock scene.
NJ in the house! We've produced so many legends...I never realized how pretty this woman was
Her beauty over shadowed her talents . ❤ she was a goddess of her time. RIP
Her voice is like music to my ears...
Oh and Jayne had a nice voice too
This was a great episode. I never knew of this woman, but the background research was a1. Loving this channel 🥰
A1C...Kennedy within, not satanic Mansfield, do go.......thank you kindly
Jayne Mansfield was a Catholic girl.
No matter what she was a bad mama jama, her body was and face was gorgeous, having all of her children and coming back to the screen looking even more stunning with no cosmetic surgery or anything of the such.
She was quite the Superwoman.
I love Jayne Mansfield and I remember her from the 50s when she broke into the movies. I was depressed the day that she died in that horrible accident.
Watching from France, she was a beauty and very smart lady ❤️
Wow did not know Janye played The violin, brilliant, so musician first then actress
Imagine a Kardashian playing an instrument....
The studio and public expectations of Jayne weighted her down and held her in a one dimensional place .
Blessed?
@@mary4011 She was rather Blessed.
Marilyn did the exact same she was just sneaky about it😭
It's because of you I even know her daughter is Mariska! I didn't even know who she was til this videonand I just saw a side by side of her and her daughter. Keep the info coming mama's!
I love the switch up you did when you started speaking in your intro.💆♀️💗 deep diving stars
She was calculated. She also was the blueprint for the kardashians
Difference: Jayne had brains, talent & natural beauty.
@z.deutch1334 thank you. I'm so sick of ppl comparing these iconic women to the 'trashians.
Calculating.
Idk why and for me it’s weird because the time I was born but old celebrities and their story’s seem so interesting, just can’t put my finger on it. I guess it’s some of the personas they put on but in reality how tragic some of there lives could be sometimes.
I am obsessed with their stories. It’s better than any movie
When you’re little, over 30 feels old, but my God she died at 34 - a baby! 21 inch waist is unfathomable.
Mariska Hartigay looks alot like her Mom. The eyes.
What is she mixed with? She looks mixed! She’s absolutely beautiful.
Imma bet black. I use to think Pamela Anderson was black but i think it was surgical
@@jokuz9133😂😂😂
I absolutely love this channel! Such amazing content!!
Love her in The Girl Can't Help It, sad she had a troublesome end of life and tragic passing.
I love Jayne Mansfield ❤ I always wanted to grow up n have a house like hers. So pink n pretty 😍thank you so much for this 🙂
Pink is originally a boys colour. Jayne Mansfield herself apparently did claim to prefer neutral colours - black and white colour.
Right with her being “Catholic”you would think she would have known better and as for the husband why would he light a candle in someone’s else house
Brody has never been her husband and for the rest:it's exagerated
I literally just learned that.... Marilyn Monroe thought she was basically a copycat and didn't like her 🤣 and was even photographed snubbing Jane at a party, like Mariah Carey did JLo "I don't know her" style LMFAOOO.
I had to Google it, because they seemed too similar & I found some old Hollywood tea. Thanks 😁😘
Funny Marilyn said unkind things about her. Personally I think she is prettier than Marilyn and obviously much more intelligent. But I am female and that is simply my opinion.
I just found out that Liv on Law and Order SVU is her daughter.
Jayne Mansfield was gorgeous! 💗
I would love to hear from her children about their childhood in Satanism.. I bet it was very dark and scary 😳 for them.
Glad you mentioned that. Was scrolling to check. Thanks.
So Jane was a satanist then. Yup, she was cursed and them demons came to kill her.
Why? Because you assume it would be? Satanism isnt scary.
I never believed it why don't you ask Madonna, Beyoncé & Rhianna's children instead?
I love these! Her quote about stars still stands today.
What an absolute queen!
Interesting as always ❤️ would you consider Raquel Wech?
She wasn't born blond. She colored her hair bleach blond.
Loll..
Of course why would anyone truly top tier fear someone that isn't 🤷♀️.
it’s really sad on how she passed but it’s crazy dealing with a satanist. I pray and hope that her Children cast that out cuz chillle they were exposed to that
I have a few suggestions on who you can do next.
Susan Lucci Christina Aguilera Zendaya Miranda Kerr and Anna Taylor-Joy
Miranda Kerr would be an interesting one
Oh wow, she lived in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. That's where I live now!
Yes. Very Smart and so is her daughter. Star and now Producer of "Law and order" Mariska Hargitay. She also Directed a couple of episodes.
Her Mother Jayne Mansfield was more Glamorous.
@@kiranjitKaur61 YES. But she be very proud of her EXECUTIVE Producer and Star of a 20 year running TV show.
I would love for you to cover Debra Paget! She was gorgeous and performed the dangerous and sensual snake charmer dance when the film academy was much more modest! I love her and she has been is some giant blockbusters during her prime! I always felt she was somewhat overlooked somehow... thanks! 🌸
I like Monroe but Jayne is something special she was smart and beautiful.
She was absolutely stunning ❤
The title has me shook. Like damn girl!
Great show! Thank you!
OMG she was DROP DEAD GORGEOUS 😫❤.
Jayne looks mixed with black, but maybe it was surgery
You did a great job on this review
This lady was the most beautiful in those times, amazing how genes from mom and genes from dad comes together and this is the result! 😮☺️
She wasnt decapitated
I think Jayne would have became a bigger star had she been herself. What stands out to me the most is how she would suck her stomach in to try and make her chest bigger and waist smaller. It only made her ribs show unnaturally and look strange. She had talent but thought her body was her ticket.
The trouble with being and acting camp is that it can very easily turn flamboyance into ridiculousness. I think that's the root cause of Mansfield's negative publicity.
Great video. It’s frightening to think she could even be around someone who had a church like that. I hope she is in heaven.
She was gorgeous ❤
thank you ms.karine for doing story on jayne mansfield she was a beautiful person and actress.
Hello Karine I wanted to ask could you do a profile on the actress Hedy Lamarr?
I'm glad i saw this video. I've only ever seen Hollywood documentaries that criticized her and compared her to Marilyn Monroe.
Wooow she was soooo gorgeous.
Wow! She was smart. She had it all.
But she was literally copying Marilyn, come one people, let’s not act like she wasn’t doing Marilyn.
@@al.s.3277 si copiaba a Marilyn pero aunque era muy bella e inteligente no logró ser como la otra.
Marilyn era única.
@@al.s.3277 It,s not true.
Anyway, Jane had a wonderful body, long legs, more then 1,70 tall a beautiful face.and very, very sexy. And really had so much talent like actress.
I think that others should learn from her story. Especially when it comes to Devil Worshipping. Not something that is advised to do. Beyonce should pay attention to her story. Because sooner rather than later the Devil will come to collect.
She is Beautiful
