    Werewolf: Animalistic masculinity (primal alpha, pack leader, strong, fierce)
    Billionaire: Status masculinity (living the high life, luxury, comfort, assurance)

    As an 18 girl, I think there's a lot of relationships where the "I can fix him" mentality can be really detrimental. It's one thing to want to "fix" your partner, and another thing to want what's best for him, you might not always know what that is, but it's important to try and help him to figure that out.
    Though I totally do get the appeal of helping your partner become a better man, but it's important to grow alongside him

    • @choxo.v260
      @choxo.v260 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Agreed. Growing allong side your partner is the healthy way. But through both books, movies and series I notice that the “I can fix him” mentality is literally being pushed onto women. It’s always the guy not being able to behave or is incredibly dangerous to the people around him but only that one special woman can stop him and calm him down. Making girls/woman believe that that is their job (taming the beast) :/

    As a lady, for me, its not the being dominated or taming a beast thing...its the world. The adventures, the magic, the danger a world like theirs can give. Normal life is dull for most people. Being in a world with Pirates, vampires, or werewolves is exciting and different. Same thing with elves...not traditionally masculine, beasts to be tamed, or dominating. Lots of ladies just loving the difference of a fantasy world and having a man to be with within that world. You remove the special worlds these men come from or the secret worlds they exist in within our own and you get what? Greg the vampire that works in accounting and only feeds on the weekends...not a lot of ladies, if any, will thirst over that. Even the fantasy of being with a billionaire is fueled by what money like that can open up for you. The fashion, travel, status. Its erotic escapism. We just go from daydreaming about prince charming to something with a bit more edge and sexiness as we get older.

    I think the whole concept of women wanting to "tame" a man is actually about their egos. Women sleep with players because they want the ego boost of making him settle down and stop sleeping with other women. If a woman can get a hot man who can sleep with anyone he wants to choose only her then that implies that she is better than everyone else. It's all about validation

      Not ALL about validation, though that may be part of it. There are serious consequences to a mate sleeping around with other partners. He could bring home diseases to you and the children, he could spend the family's money that is needed for food/housing/medicine wooing someone else, and he could cause a divorce or child support payment to come out of his take home pay. All these are very real threats to a mom who is depending on a partner to help her raise the kids.

But, one fateful night, in a war ravaged land, my life and existence changed drastically. I was called upon to deliver the child of a soldier who was called to battle. His wife, a young woman of no more than twenty-five, was in labor when I arrived in their small cottage. I tried my best, as any man of medicine would. However, even though the woman survived, as well as the newborn girl, the hemorrhaging had an unforeseen effect. Little did I know, this woman was secretly in love with another being. A being of darkness. One who had set the transformation in motion before the labor began. The vampirism was in her blood. And, by contact with it, I myself became a creature of night. As a woman, its definitely true that many women are drawn to the idea of taming monsters. Masculinity at its most extreme is pretty monsterous. Women are drawn to that as it is through nature but we also need to make sure the monster is redeemable to some extent for our own safety, comfort, and fulfillment. Also a monster that is tame only with us is the highest level of protection we could have. It also helps us feel special. Its layered. Basically be a beast but with self control and show your softest sides only to her to trigger her nurture programming and also stroke her vanity...and bam she is hooked for life. 😂 unless you found a really crazy one.

    I have always been a fan of a good werewolf or vampire romance and I definitely still get drawn in by the level of masculinity they bring. But honestly has I have gotten older, and I am only early 20s mind you, I have realized how much I personally don't want that sort of relationship. I married a man who did not fit into the "needs to be tamed" category because I discovered I wanted to be with someone who wouldn't induce a heart attack by acting out rashly out of protectiveness or just sheer passion. I married a guy who would act but with more thought to his actions and how they could impact our life together. What I am saying is no matter how attractive men that take care of the problem, or get aggressive can be, I myself am way too independent and practical minded of a female to want that outside of a book lol. My man doesn't need to change for me, we will both adapt as necessary.

    No one asked, but I'm here to explain the vampire one in more detail. I don't think it's as weird or shallow as it seems on the surface 😅
    It's important to note that women don't typically like *evil* vampires who are actively killing people. Women like *good* vampires. Whether we're talking about Twilight, Buffy, or any of the thousands of other vampire stories out there, women like noble vampires who willingly choose to abstain from human blood.
    I think this is because the bloodlust vampires feel is a thinly veiled metaphor for sexual lust (or possibly any addictive sin). In other words, a vampire who can control his desire to drink blood is a man who can control his sexual desire. A good vampire represents a man who is strong enough to resist temptation and rise above his nature in an effort to protect others.
    In my opinion, this is the primary reason the idea of vampires appeals to women (especially the more traditionally-minded variety). Good vampires are men with morals and values. They have the power to hurt others but they choose against it. They don't give into selfish, carnal pleasures at the expense of others, no matter how powerful the temptation may be.
    Bonus: vampires usually live a long time (because they're immortal), so over the years, they've acquired wisdom, intelligence, and life experience. They're old souls. They're emotionally mature. They're civilized and refined. They typically come from an earlier time when chivalry was the norm. That gentlemanly nature seems to linger within them.
    The bottom line: vampires represent the female desire for men who can control their actions even in the face of strong temptation, have life experience and maturity, and behave like gentlemen. The interesting thing is that these are completely attainable goals for any regular guy (or girl--I'm trying to work on some of these things myself), and I'm thankful to know many real men who exemplify these qualities beautifully.
    In fact, I'm blessed to be dating my very own "noble vampire." 😉

Many vampires also have castles Can Grant immortality to their partner and are hunted by vampire hunters. With a vampire it's considered good enough if they don't kill those they suck blood from

In order to compete in the medical field at such a high level, and to continue doing so, requires an exemplary degree of effort and complex action, which is an abstract of aggression. But where's the danger? What makes a surgeon as deadly as a vampire or pirate? When I was like 20~ I loved reading books and I also favoured the 'bad guys', vampires and werewolves. I also questioned why I felt drawn to them and why alot of other women do too. And I think I found an answer that sounds plausible and right to me.
    I think those bad guys represent things that a lot of women dont have. They represent what some women long for, what might bring balance.
    Since young age, I and a lot other girls are taught to behave, be calm, show good manners, be empathetic, be good at school, do this, do that, in fact: be a good girl and you'll get praised. I know so many that grow up this way into adulthood. And if you happen to also be a shy girl, books can be an escape from this situation, this world, in which you feel like everything you are and will be is decided by someone else.
    And then you meet those characters, the bad guys, the vampires, the werewolves. They represent all that: Independence, power, being unapologetic, free, wild, adventurous, special, being egoistical. Thats what (I think) a lot desire about those men. They want what they dont have .

    I think it's more a 'only soft for her' kind of thing. Throughout history, females have not been very dominant, so having power over someone who has a lot of power is kind of, well, empowering. Knowing that you can influence someone to that level, where he didn't listen to anyone before you came along, it makes you feel special.
    Even I consider the idea romantic, even thought I know, rationally speaking, that someone who is only nice to someone just because he's in love with her, is a bad partner to have.

Woman do not have power, but they are pretty. Men are strong, but everyone knows they are weak to a pretty face.
      Besides that, isn't the whole idea of love- or at least, the most mainstream love- the idea of doing whatever you can for your partner, lust and seduction put aside?

They see themselves as right. Which means they can still be in love with you and, in the moment you don't show your boundaries clearly enough, run over them like a freight train.

    I think the archetype of a woman taming a man comes from a woman’s insecurity. Beauty doesn’t make you special - there are millions of beautiful women out there. But if you can be the one woman who tames a man - who stands by him despite all of the negative things - who makes him see the light - who makes him love you enough to be better - well THAT makes you special. That makes you indispensable to him in a way beauty and sex and even a regular relationship doesn’t. You’ll be the girl who saw the diamond in the coal, the prince in the toad, etc. and when he transforms you’ll have a man that appreciates all that you did for him when no one else would. And if you can make yourself indispensable to a man, then he will never leave you - then you’re safe and he’ll treat you well... At least, that’s what the fantasy is. Reality is often quite different.

    • @kateSullivan3927
      @kateSullivan3927 3 ปีที่แล้ว +63

      It's a nice fantasy, I agree. But the irony is that an alpha male can only be temporarily "tamed" by any woman. Perhaps 5-10 years at most. If he is desired by many women he will always have options and distractions.

    • @skillo6399
      @skillo6399 3 ปีที่แล้ว +49

      The fun thing is, it becomes a game between her wanting to tame the man, and the man using push-pull to always portrait the image that he might simply leave at some point. Many call this "Dread". Keeping the dread makes the woman always try to dominate you, because through dread you express exactly the opposite - you are so untaimed that you might go for someone else.
      Some might say it can be borderline unethical to play around such things, as it may easily classified as manipulation, but I would argue that the opposite is also very real and can real to catastrophic failures. A completely tamed man gets boring really quick, and she might as well try to find someone more interesting to start this taming Journey back again.

    • @reginanemo640
      @reginanemo640 3 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      There is no difference between men wanting the most beautiful and women wanting someone they can nourish. While men tend to get distracted by physical beauty more often, women have to form a bond like motherhood so that men can never leave.
      Of course this interpretation is for the sake of fun Freudian conversations.

    • @OrderOfMagnitude1

      @@reginanemo640 well yes... there is. The women are looking for the aggression, the danger. They feel stable and have potential for dominence. Overly passive and guys that would do anything for me is a turn off.
      It's not so much be a bad guy but rather be centered and confident in who u are. If someone is too distant however thatll attract many anxious types so beware how cold yall decide to act as well. Just be nice and be interested. (was this too chaotic and rant y? Maybe idk)

    One other group to whom I've noticed females are attracted are military special operators. Having watched this video, I can see characteristics that overlap with the "monsters" JP mentioned. These are;
    - aggression
    - dominance
    - protective when chaos breaks out
    One interesting aspect (this is only one story, mind you) that I was told was that, there was a group of operators on an operation in an African country doing security. The women in the village thought the men were traditional military and treated them with disdain, but when they found out the men were special operators, their reaction changed to attraction.

      For a lot of people looks and money just don’t do it for them. I think a lot of those that compete in combat sports have a very good looking wife because it’s something that takes extraordinary discipline and focus. Not to mention the best of the best tend to have the brain functionality/wiring that makes them that better fighter in the ring/octagon. I do competitive combat sports and only the top 1 percent have any semblance of money and most are actually much more attractive than the general public. Discipline to a craft IS absolutely sexy.
      I used to wallow in self pity because I thought I was ugly and un-wanted. When in reality I was lazy and un disciplined and a giant cry baby. For those that think that, dedicate yourself to something, anything, and things like that will find you. It’s kind of like when you lose something and stop looking for it, it tends to show up faster than if you tore your house apart searching for it. That’s just my 2 cents though.
