This PPV stood no chance: in December a horrible time for wrestling, horrible booking, between Survivor Series & Rumble, not enough of their own guys, and almost no promoted matches
I was there, second row, left of the entrance ramp with the ring in front of me. 2 things I remember from December to Dismember. A guy was holding up a huge sign, like a refrigerator box, saying “Owen died for our sins.” Second during the elimination chamber match Bobby Lashley was in his chamber with a table, everyone in my area couldn’t see the ring because of the table. We were all chanting “move that table!” After a couple of minutes he moved it slightly and we all started cheering, he turned and smiled at us, best moment of the night
I was there. I was so excited a PPV was in my little hometown. Although you never would of known it. Zero promotion on radio, TV or anything in Augusta. Tag match was a lot of fun. The rest was...trash. The post show respect for the Big Show was awesome. We do see him as a local boy.
I can’t believe The Hardy’s didn’t accept VKM’s (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn) answer to the open challenge. They got black balled twice. Once at this PPV and again at THE ALAMO.
Daniel Volpe RVD would be my 1st choice, CM Punk would be my 2nd choice any other choice wouldve been disappointing. I think CM Punk is great but I wonder how his title run would have been if he had won it this night? Rvd was a ECW original which would have made this ppv better since it was a ECW ppv.
This is why i’m anti-mainstream. The creative freedom in this PPV was almost obsolete and lack of creative freedom made the PPV so bad that Heyman, the owner of the original brand, left the company afterwards.
Another thing about this show..if you listen to Joey Styles on commentary at the beginning, he basically gives away the ending to the show. He plugs the extreme elimination chamber and says "where we will crown a NEW ECW champion tonight"
You can't talk about December To Dismember without talking about the botch that was WWECW. If Vince wanted Bobbly Lashley to win a World Title then why not let him stay on SmackDown?, they could've done it there. They could've had Lashley beat Booker T for the title at No Mercy and have Batista win the World Title in a triple threat with Lashley and Booker T at the Royal Rumble. WWE should've kept Kurt Angle around until December and have him walk into December To Dismember as ECW Champion in his last WWE PPV. WWE should've put the likes of Chris Benoit, Super Crazy, Kid Kash, Shelton Benjamin and Johnny Nitro/John Morrison on ECW from the very beginning. WWE should've also of kept Terry Funk, Jazz and Tajiri for the relaunch of ECW as well. The likes of Big Show, Matt Striker, Rene Dupree, Sylvester Terkay, The Miz, Kelly Kelly, The Boogeyman, Big Daddy V, The Great Khali, Daivari, Mark Henry, Kane, Finlay, Hornswoggle, Chavo Guerrero, MVP, The Bella Twins, DJ Gabriel, Alicia Fox, Colin Delaney, Ezekiel Jackson, William Regal, Jack Swagger, Gavin Spears, The Zombie, Goldust, DH Smith, Tyson Kidd, Katie Lea Burchill, Paul Burchill, Kofi Kingston, Brooke Adams, Layla, Bam Neely, Ricky Ortiz, Sheamus, Teddy Long, Tiffany, Tony Chimell, Tony Atlas, Vladimir Koslov, Mr Kenedy, Natalya, Vince McMahon, Rosa Mendes, Abraham Washington, Armando Estrada and Umaga all should've never of been apart of the ECW relaunch. I’m from Augusta Ga, for my sixth birthday my uncle took me and my brothers to December to Dismember, from what I remembering wasn’t that bad, or it could be from where I was six.
WWE/ECW December to dismember...man what a horrible ppv...at least tna 2011 victory road had some good matches...without lookin it up i know aj styles and matt hardy wrestled a decent match...and im sure there were a few more...but it was the worst main event i ever saw...the extreme elinination chamber match is the 2nd worst main event....woulda been better if punk won....and the 1995 king of the ring....i choose to forget that period!!!!
I didn't see the fight that night after the show, but I did come across Sandman and Sabu outside of the arena afterwards. I had met Sabu a few years earlier at a show in Illinois, but he seemed very different this time: pretty angry and dejected, which was understandable as he was advertised as being in the main event but was replaced at the last minute by Bob Holly. Overall it was a pretty lousy show, but it was the biggest event I can remember coming to my hometown of Augusta since UFC 13, so we were excited about it nonetheless. The press conference a week or so before the event was fun. Big Show was a really great heel that afternoon, graciously bantering with a lot of us fellow locals who came to see the press conference.

and his clothes in there are amazing too. those chicago stars and those straight edge Xs look so fucking awesome. not to mention the shirts he had. guy had the best merch. wished they were still selling that white "Best In The World" t-shirt.
and his matches are the best ive ever seen. awesome wrestler and the best on the mic - even on commentary. literally the last thing punk ever said on a wwe show: "Cause Ive been The Best since Day One." couldnt be more true. when kayfabe gets real.

1. WWECW continued for 4 years after this. I genuinely thought this show killed the brand.
It killed anyone enjoyment of the brand, but the brand itself lived on until 2009. It did kill the concept of brand exclusives PPVs though

Don't take this the wrong way...but you must have odd taste. It's easily the worst Elimination Chamber match, by some distance.
