Nitro was a game-changer for WCW it boosted WCW to compete with the WWF and the history that happened one year later at at WCW bash at the beach 1996 where Hulk Hogan gave the leg drop to the Macho Man and turn heal and became the third member of the new world order of professional wrestling in the rise of WCW for 83 weeks in a row from 1996-1998
I can't believe that the then-WWF was inattentive enough to have Lex Luger work without a contract. He was free to jump to WCW if he wanted. Vince McMahon had Junkyard Dog jump to the WWF without giving Mid-South Wrestling any notice back in the '80s, but McMahon cried foul anyway.

I quite enjoyed this video, many points that I didn't know. When the outro popped up, I initially mistook Tom for Sam and I'm not sure if I was more confused that Tom had gone a full 12 minutes in serious mode or more disappointed that he now had an outro, happy to realize I was wrong.
I grew up watching WWF and for some reason switched over to WCW, I think when Hulk Hogan did. But my long love for wrestling died when WCW was folded, I tried to give WWE a chance, but when they screwed up the invasion angle, I shut off wrestling for good. I do hope good things for the AEW and will give a look to see if it's any good.

I'm amazed at how many people tell me the same thing. There is much love for AEW being on TNT, and Tony Schiavone and good ol' JR calling the matches.
Guy Evan's "Nitro" book is fantastic. It goes into detail about the history and business of WCW.
