I won a radio competition when I was a kid in 92 and met and interviewed Piper on the radio, he was such a nice guy, made me enjoy that on OSW that much more.
#1 was easy, I was there at the show. Kinda cool to be at the event with the longest elimination match in history.

I've always liked Survivor Series when there's a brand split. Whilst Royal Rumble and SummerSlam bring big moments (debuts, returns and heel turns) they're very often inconsistent. You know where you are with Survivor Series. Plus a moment like Goldberg squashing Lesnar isn't a moment anyone's forgetting any time soon.

Survivor series fact: bret hart had his first wwf title defense (1992) and last wwf title defense (1997) at survivor series. Ironically taking on another champion in shawn michaels, who hbk beat british bulldog for the ic title (1992) and for the European title (1997)
That tag match at Survivor Series 88 was something phenomenal!

If you've ever wondered why Gorilla Monsoon called the Tombstone Taker hit at the PPV by name when he was supposed to be a massive mustery, it was precisely because of those prior tapings and Gorilla didn't keep his timelines right. You can practically hear Vince shouting "How are you supposed to know that?" in Gorilla and Roddy's ears, hence the pretend confusion after the call.

At 0:14 that 87 Survivor Series VHS photo is fake they have Hogan on it with the WCW title lol and it shows Rude with short hair
Also both Patera & Muraco are wearing the IC title. Patera has blonde hair & Reed has dark hair. Looks more like a 1995 Bigelow too.

Imagine Roman Reigns botching his Survivor Series entrance at The Shield's debut that woulda been something probably wouldve been switched out with Chris Hero like Punk wanted
The problem with Survivor Series, imo, is that the whole "Brand vs Brand" thing doesn't have the same impact when the only time the brands remember they are in a heated, bitter and furious rivalry is the weeks prior to Survivor Series. It comes from nowhere, it goes to nowhere, there is no stakes other than Bragging Rights, which don't even get used, and there's literally no consequence from it. I can remember, years back, when SmackDown! vs RAW was in full effect, Survivor Series felt a lot more impactful because all the niggling little stuff that was going on most of the year could finally come to a payoff. Now? "Oh, it's Survivor Series around the corner, quick guys, brand loyalty and sneer badassfully at the other color for a bit!"

Sorry. You lost me the moment you said that Survivor Series was better than Starrcade '87. There's a reason I watched Starrcade live and taped Survivor Series.
Makes me wonder why the tag teams vs tag teams match never got featured that often and it took several years to feature that match again even if there are some periods in wwe where there are more than 20 tag teams

Don't know why Randy Orton is so highly rated. His rate of survival is 50%. Won 5, lost 5. Wanna know who has survived 100%? Ultimate Warrior. He won every Survivor Series match he was in - that's 4 out of 4. Even Hogan was eliminated from the 1st one.

I was at the 93’” Survivor Series at the Boston Garden when I was almost 11. I’m glad I was that young because looking back at that card...yikes lol
The 2016 match honestly didn't feel like it was 52 minutes long at the time. That's how well it was booked.
Also, they really should pick a format and stick with it. Teams at SS, and a separate "Bragging Rights" PPV earlier in the year for champion vs champion.
Also, it's hilarious that we're not getting a triple-threat between the top champions. I guarantee that it's because Cole would look like a runt in there with Brock and The Fiend. Yeah, Brock is fighting Rey, but Rey is like the exception that proves the rule. Rey has legendary status and it's a match in which you know there will be interference.
It's like how Ciampa is a great heel, but if I were WWE, I'd book the cruiserweights like WCW and make him a major part of it (Even if he's technically not a cruiserweight. Maybe turn it into their own version of the X Division?). It's how Rey earned his status in the first place.
Edit: Actually, Ciampa is billed at 201.

It's actually six if you count Barry Darsow, who appeared at the first four Survivor Series as Demolition Smash and in 1991 as Repo Man.
Repo Man did not wrestle at Survivor Series 91.

appears to be the '91 SS. the harts would have been tag champs, what is this image of flair with a "money inc." tag belt?
This was at the time when Flair was using a "stand in" version of the Big Gold as the "Real World's Champion", because of legal threats by WCW over WWE using it when he first came in 2 months before. They'd still blur it on TV as they had from the start even with the real thing, but it was as you can see in reality a tag title belt dressed up a bit to seem more like a world title. Nothing more to it than that.

I love how they talk about accomplishments and stats like they earned it. ‘Five time this and that. It wasn’t earned by skill, it was just part of the story lol

Used to love Survivor Series.
It's now just a yearly grenade that blows up existing storylines & feuds. The obsured brand loyalty gimmick is a character killer. Ask Bailey. You can trace her botched booking all the way to her just debuted hugger character doing a sneak attack & kicking the crap out of helpless RAW wrestlers on the ground in the name of Smackdown brand supremacy. NXT should worry.
