- Hey there you beautiful people, today I do some dumpster diving and find some awesome pure aluminium walkway offcuts, I don’t even skim any slag out in this video as it’s clean and pure. Another 6 kg to add to The BigStackD. Sit back relax enjoy and unwind. In the bin there was also a couple of compressors but I couldn’t lift them out as they were completely full of oil and would easily have been over 100 kg each , there was also a motor in their attached to a gearbox again that was well over 100 kg and I couldn’t get that out either so unfortunately had to leave them😞.

HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it??????.

Bigstack. I have a challenge for you: what if you got an animal skull with antlers and cast it in metal. Skull as one metal, and each horn/antler as a different metal. Woukd look awesome.

European colonists brought deer with them, so though deer aren't native to Australia, there's wild populations of 6 different species. He might not even need to buy or be shipped a skull; it's possible to find one out in the wild!

It's amazing how the melting process works. Watching those pieces melt in the crucible is unlike anything else out there. And aluminium pours are just the best. T-1000 level stuff. Literal liquid metal. Thanks for all you do.

Ever thought of collecting all your bottle caps then melting them and making a bottle cap opener out of them? Is that even something bottle cap metal is capable of?
Sure. That could be easily done. It might need a slightly different geometry, but it could easily be done.

Your vids remind me of how back when I played Skyrim I would collect as much of the Dwemer scrap metal as possible, melt it all down, and just keep the ingots. I'd always have thousands of them in my collection by the time I was done.

Always love your copper pours. I grew up in Mt Isa and picking up Dad from some shifts matched pouring times. As kids, we watched the pour from the carpark. Obviously a WAY bigger scale, but any copper pour brings those memories (early 70's) back.

It's good, as it makes us understand how long you take in forging, cleaning and editing your items and videos, and encourages some of us to undertake such projects with enough information. I mentioned a flat roller before, to possibly flatten out your bullion, done before it cools off (actually forgot to mention that part). Maybe use a hydraulic cutter for the square tubing. I love how you minimize even the smallest amount of waste. BRAVO!

I’m used to it now buddy. But I must’ve admit every time I pick my shoes up and put them on I do it very very quick!
And if for some reason I feel a strange lump in my shoe I can guarantee I will freak out and go apeshit trying to get the shoe off but that’s just the fun we have when we leave our shoes outside.
It normally takes two days before the redbacks moving although they can come in overnight which is annoying🙄

My wife would hate it if he did cause I'm already interested in getting started. There one kind of like this that show some of the stuff needed but something really geared to the guy about to start buying and melting on his own!
I've always wondered is there any heat damage in your garage above where you do the melting?
Probably not because I have one of those forges I made and the heat disperses after about 2-3 feet so much that it just feels like a heater on the lowest setting lol

Guys I would have to be an absolute idiot to film this stuff if I was stealing it, it’s illegal over here in Australia as well but I have permission from the site manager to access to the scrap bins as long as I don’t abuse the privilege, I’ve been told to do it at night as there is less prying eyes and if the day shift workers saw me doing it there’s a good chance they would ask and they will take it before I got there at night👍🏻

I was literally thinking the same exact thing...that's a scrap metal bin...I used to work a a machine shop and people would do this all the time and we would report them to the police when we got them on camera...unless he's got permission it's a good way to end up in jail
