  • Quarterback Alex Smith on making peace with the 49ers and the Bay Area before his trade to the Chiefs, how he hoped he would follow Coach Andy Reid to Kansas City and responds to the notion that both he and Coach Reid came into their new franchise with a chip on their shoulder, ready to prove their former teams wrong. Coach Reid chimes in as well to discuss his admiration of Smith before they both landed in K.C. and giving Alex more pre-play control.

      I've followed his exploits since he was drafted by the Niners. When you can withstand the negatives and still be a good person, that's a great accomplishment. He already understands that his might be his last season with the Chiefs, but there are more important things in life than being bitter about what happened in the past.

      Smith is 62-25-1 since 2011. I'd say that's a winner in my book. He's leaving because the Chiefs can't afford him to keep both him and Mahomes.

      Watching Alex Smith pick the Patriots apart was such a fun game to watch. I don't think he is finished in the NFL at all. He is truly a cerebral player, student of the game & it truly wonderful to see him have such a tremendous game. No team needs to sleep on the Chiefs, even with the very sad season-ending injury to one of my favorite players - Eric Berry. Any team making the huge mistake thinking that this team, coached by a great Andy Reid & lead by Alex Smith, will be in for a very rude awakening. We are a Panthers & Cowboys family, but more importantly- we just love football.

      Same here man. I didn't like how he lost his job due to his injury. Kaepernick was exciting with his running ablitliy.. but I would have preferred Alex Smith to get back into the starting line up once he was good to go. I always liked Smith, even during the bad years, I knew it was the instability of our front office and poor coaches that was our problem. Everyone talked shit on Alex Smiths arm, but that playoff game vs Brees that they way, he proved he can throw it and be the QB to win it all.
      Sucks how it ended without a ring with him and for the 49ers.

      TheDCGuitar13 first off Im talking about his play in dc, so idk why you brought up KC lol second - he wasn’t good with y’all. Your defense played very good ball til your coordinator switched up (which is why Swearinger got so pissed btw) and the run game behind AP was working. Alex Smith just did a good job of not forcing things and letting his defense and run game win. But anytime he faced a decent opponent where he had to keep up with points in the air, he lost and played bad lol he was average at best, and that’s giving him points for not turning the ball over.

    What's sad is that he's about to be discarded again next season regardless of how well he does this year because of the Rookie behind him who they think will be their savior. Dallas discarded Romo for an average quarterback and it seems as though the mindset in KC is that this will be his last season in a Chiefs uniform and that sucks.

    • @ellismills8015
      @ellismills8015 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Jordan Martin romo is 37 years old and injury prone. Also calling Prescott an average qb means you obviously don't know football. He didn't win 13 games last year for nothing.

      @J0rdanMartin 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ellis mills You truly must be a special needs person. I've not only played football at the college level for 4 years but I've more than likely been coaching for longer than you've been alive, so I won't laugh at you because of your ignorance. Then again...Bawahahahahah

    • @J0rdanMartin
      @J0rdanMartin 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ellis mills Prescott I'd an average quarterback playing behind what is arguably the best offensive line in football. He also had Elliot, who many consider one of the best in the game. Prescott does not have the ability to make every throw, nor can he go deep with accuracy. He is benefitting from the team and system he is playing for. Put him on the 49ers or Browns or any other team that doesn't have a great line and his weaknesses are easily exposed. He is a game manager and does not possess the skill set to take over a game when his running game is non existent. He's good, but he's average.

    • @megaproto100
      @megaproto100 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dallas needed to move on from Romo at quarterback whether you like it or not. He is old for a football player, injury prone and is costing Dallas a lot of money. Dallas needed to reduce the amount of money paying for the offense to build a decent defense while Romo needed to retire to keep his health intact while he is still young. I think that it is beneficial for both Dallas and Romo that they parted ways.
