    Hey, Lee! Appreciate the review. Given it's a different type of leather (sheep vs cow) and not waxed at all, I wish they didn't call it Arizona Adobe. Seems like an easy way to disappoint people who want the match to be spot-on. They could have easily called it something else. But yeah - looks GREAT on you. I wouldn't have changed the size. I'm sure you have other bigger jackets to layer... this one is in the sweet spot! Also, signed up for the newsletter. Thanks, brother!

      Thanks Patrick! I think I just need to get it out of my head that a leather jacket is exclusively a winter jacket. I'm so used to layering up beneath my leather jackets.

    This a good review. My goal it's to pick what i can afford at the time and try to keep it as pristine condition for 2-5 years.

    Thanks for sharing your size and choice; it looks great! I'm 5', 11" 155# and I would think I'd be "Thin" and have a hard time with sizes, since I'm kinda between them. I've ordered so many online, only to re-sell them later because "M" is too big for me and "S" is great on the chest, but the sleeves are too short. I guess I have to try them on in person, but we don't have stores that sell this type of quality in my area. I am athletic, but like a swimmer, not a body builder.

      Thanks so much! I’m in a similar boat. The nicest clothing store we have here is JC Penny!

    • @floridaredneck
      @floridaredneck ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Penny's used to sell good stuff when things were made in the USA. I think we have one of those here..lol. I'm in between Orlando and Tampa and there are nicer stores there like Neiman Marcus, Gucci, Burberry and such, but nothing that specializes in leathers that I know of (haven't been to a mall in years).
      Problem is, there are theme parks (Disney, Universal, Bush Gardens) that make going there a nightmare as far as traffic goes. You have to go in the middle of the day during the week, but there should be some good sales about now. We can only wear leather jackets about 1 month out of the year here (starting about now), so it would take 100 years to break one in. @@StrayReviews

    I like the Cafe style racer jackets but feel they’re a bit young for my age bracket (very late 40s) and prefer something that will age with me, not against me. A modern cut flight style jacket for instance. I dig the Thursday Flight Jacket & Keanu, but not crazy about the lack of heft & the finishes seem cheap & almost painted on. Love their boots though. I have 2 pair of their western boots (Desperado in Arizona Adobe & Maverick in Anejo) & getting the President in Mocha Suede for Xmas.

    • @StrayReviews
      @StrayReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I own a Schott. It’s an incredible jacket. But comparing a $349 Thursday to a $1,000 Schott isn’t an apples to apples comparison. For $349, the Thursday Racer really is a great jacket. And no one paid me to say that 😀.

      @albertmanuel5028 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@albertmanuel5028 I wouldn't necessarily disagree if that was something easily in your price range but if this would be the most expensive jacket you own I think it's a fair deal. I own both a used Schott Perfecto and a new Thursday Roadster and the Schott feels much more substantial but I wear the Thursday more often due to the better fit(I could order one and return if it wasn't quite my size) and because it's just less worrying to be walking around with because even used and with a good discount the Schott was almost double the price of the Thursday.

    If you Google lens the main photo of the 'black matte' if brings up identical jackets (with the same pose) from elsewhere at a far lower price. It could be that these other places are hitching a ride and what you'll receive will differ significantly but it's just put me eyes on stalks and I'm hesitant now. Might be useful to someone I dunno!

      i have seen plenty of fake clothing stores (usually chinese dropshippers and what not) that take the stock photos from more popular web-based leather shops and use them to advertise their own cheap "maybe looks sort of like the photo, maybe not" jackets that are absolutely NOT the item in the photo. For example, look up "Monaljackets Men’s Legacy Brown Leather Biker Jacket" and you will find a leather jacket that costs $211. It uses the same photos as the Buffalo Jackson Legacy jacket which retails for $500 or so. You can even see in one of the photos where they sloppily airbrush out the Buffalo Jackson logo. I can almost guarantee if you buy that from Monal, you're NOT getting the jacket you think you are.
      Sometimes you do find re-badged jackets for sale, but I highly doubt Thursday is one of them. For an example of a re-badged leather jacket, look up "Overland Lucio leather jacket" and "Regency Lucio leather jacket". You can find the Regency on the Regency website or from shops like Saks Off 5th. Ironically, the re-badged Overland Lucio is cheaper than buying from Regency directly. Who knows, maybe they don't even re-badge it, but just sell it with the Regency Lucio branding. I've seen stores like Carbon2Cobalt sell clothes with their supplier's manufacturer's tags rather than their own

    I bought this in tobacco, but had to return it. It smelled like the guy from robocop was wearing it when he fell into the tank of toxic waste. The shell also seemed incredibly fragile. Finally, there were a ton of inconsistencies in the texture and color, as well flaws in the hide itself (though these were very minor and forgivable)

    Unfortunately, I can't wear any Thursday boots because they don't make a wide size for my wider feet. I ordered a pair of statesmen and they were so narrow and tight my feet would go numb. And, my feet aren't super wide. AE's size E fits fine. Also, the shoes had zero arch support built in and did not have a removable insert. So, maybe old guys with old wide feet should avoid Thursday boots. Too bad, I thought they looked cool and really wanted them to fit right.

    • @StrayReviews

      Some of the boots have wide options but many don't it seems dependent on the boot and the color in question which is slightly annoying. That said I think even their "wide" size is quite a bit narrower than like Redwing's wide size.

      @jonathansandberg5219 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gnomersy1087Yeah the selection is much more limited in wide, but the cost of producing wide lasts and devoting production to wide sized boots is quite large. So basically they start offering their most popular colors and boots in wide and expand it over time.
      I have had success with their wide widths, and funnily enough, the limited selection actually keeps me from buying too many boots. Can't speak to the Red Wings though, I've never tried.
