I flew in there from SFO in October. Pretty good visibility too. Really loved the approach: Los Padres Nat'l Forest, then turn over Ventura Co. and 101, then straight through the SFV to landing. But...I had not flown since I was 19 (I was 47 then). When we took off from SFO and the cars became really tiny, major freaking out on my part internally. Yeah, the flight attendants and the woman next to me were low-key worried. I got out of the airport and police were seriously looking at me. No kidding there. On the way back, someone in the terminal (guy) in glasses was staring at me for a good ten minutes, before he got on the plane to Vegas. Um, LA can be pretty scary and dicey, but I love it.
On Southwest Airlines incredible no taxi after landing! Wow ! Just a right turn and and arrived at gate! And no jetway. I love to walk on the tarmac like back on the 50’s LoL 😂
Oh wow. Imagine if they took that first parking spot? LOL. Get off runway, cross hold line, done! I'm wondering if they could use Rwy 08 for the taxi as the path also has access to the parking spot directly with less obstacles and an easier turn.
I've flown numerous times into Burbank. Their runways are short and shorter. Airplanes don't have the luxury to feather off lightly due to a long runway. They have to set down now. Because of this, at least 8 or 9 flights out of 10 are hard landings. That being said, I would prefer to fly into Burbank over LAX any daY.
my buddy in LA told me to fly into Burbank and I've done it twice. Easy going out the airport and going through TSA has been quick at least my two trips. Like the old school field walking out to the plane and up the stairs to board.
0:20 - You don't see so many pivot-arigation fields in California. They're more common in the western parts of Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma, and eastern Colorado
They're all over the place in East Cali, Nevada and Utah... Probably more so than in Oklahoma and Kansas. When we fly south out of PDX or SEA we usually use the Pivot fields as a reference if we're out of Oregon yet.
