Yep. Knox was really angry. He's held off from commenting until Ren dropped this track. He'd seen firsthand the effect it was having on Ren. Coming back home from 18 months of intensive treatment abroad and preparing to headline a festival for the first time, his first solo concert for 5 years... should have been a happy time. Instead it was destroying Ren. He did the show and hid it pretty well but there were moments where you could really see it. I just put those moments down to stage rustiness but it's clear now that there was more to it. The SGP was obviously something of an ordeal for him but he pushed on through, for his fans. At the point where he realised there wasn't going to be a satisfactory resolution with Kujo and that Kujo was going to keep being a dick, he had only 2 choices, allow the black hole of chronic, possibly psychotic, depression to swallow him whole once again, or to let his anger out. I think he made the correct choice! :)

He hasn't been dealing with this for 2 years. He only found out there was a problem, shortly after getting back home from his treatment in Canada, roughly 2 months ago. For the first 2 or 3 weeks he was having to focus on preparing for his headlining set at the SGP festival but was still trying to sort the mess out at the same time. It was only a couple of weeks ago that he gave up on trying to find a resolution with Kujo. So this probably came together in about a week, as it was definitely ready to go, a little over a week ago. He's good at putting things together at short notice, especially when he's really into a project, because then his ADHD becomes a superpower! :)

There was no problem yet back then, and Kujo even sent the message that he liked the track. I guess the chain of events that lead to this landing on Ren's plate started some time in spring 2024, when the owners of the choir sample were chasing their share of the pie, because Kujo had put in that sample without asking them and without telling Ren that it wasn't cleared. But Ren only became aware of the mess when Sick Boi got copyright striked for leverage mid-July.
I don't appreciat that guy and I deeply think that Ren didn't need to suffer that battle to give us good music, I understand what you're saying but I deeply feel sorry that Ren had to go to that sh*t.
I think music is therapeutic for Ren. And my thanks doesn't go to kujo for pushing Ren this far, rather, it goes to Ren for allowing us to sit in on his therapy sessions. His vulnerability is unparalleled ❤️🩹🫶
I just love that you're a hearty Christian and yet you can still understand that the words ren speaks may be offensive to you or I. But the point of his art is just that. Art. Perhaps, but I think he was referring to his treatment here in Canada, beginning right at the time that Hi Ren and Sick Boi blew up. He has been quite clear that the first he knew of any trouble with the song was when Kujo struck it - a very aggressive move, to say the least. Hence his anger, over time. He bent over backward to resolve the issue, until he couldn’t. That said, I do enjoy your reactions. You are on my personal A list.

You were looking at the emails he sent to his TH-cam guy and publishers etc. Asking them all to do the correct thing by the beat maker.
I already mentioned it in Ren's video, but I love the lyrics "this ain't Hi Ren number 2" because yes this situation had a rough ending, however, the "coin with 2 different sides" still applies here. The whole idea is "I just wanted to show my struggles so others wouldn't feel so alone through my art, but I also have every right to be angry due to be taken advantage of during a rough part of my life." Everyone has an angry side, and that's okay sometimes.
I don’t think I will ever quite understand how it all went from Kujo selling a beat with a stolen sample and the owners getting in touch for the publishing money they’re owed to then somehow escalating into Kujo and his attorney using a mistake made by others, not Ren himself, to demand money from Ren as if he was the thief. It’s like there’s a huge gap and I suspect it’s between Kujo’s ears 👀 But at least we got this righteous rage! Ren showed us exactly what happens when you push the nicest guy in the industry too far… he needed to let the anger out somehow and boy did he do just that 🔥 Ren just made history and we all went crazy! Our sick boi was wronged and the hype to see him release his anger was insane. Pretty sure there were like twice the amount of people in chat for the premiere than we’ve seen before and so many reactors heard his call for support ❤️ It’s interesting that the community is so passionate because of how genuinely nice Ren is, yet we all LOVE seeing this side of him 😂 But as much as we love it and would love a part 2, for Ren’s sake I hope this is the end of it. From what i understand Ren only found out about this in July just a week b4 his Secret Garden Party appearance (he says as much on a Twitch stream he just posted on YT under his renmakesstuff channel if u want to check it out). Kujo said he was dealing with the issue for a year but that was a lie bc Ren checked with his lawyer and it only started in April this year apparently. So Ren wrote all this in only a few weeks! In fact he stated he wrote the lyrics on a train ride. Great reaction btw!

Btw, I've seen screenshots because supposedly Kujo tried to copyright strike the diss track and the song was gone for a little bit but put right back up with the views still on it. There were 21k people in chat at the premiere.... It was crazy! Kujo should've taken the deal to make a new song with Ren and he would've been set up for quite a bit. Pretty sure they are also using more dummy accounts on IG and commenting on Ren's IG posts that this song is trash and that Ren isn't any good and that he is going to ruin his own career with this song (pretty sure Em's mother tried to sue due defamation cause of what Em said about her in his songs and it was thrown out cuz it's artistic license and he specifically added a message saying he is dealing with the situation himself and does not condone bullying or abuse. They can't get him for making a song about what he is imagining in his head during this whole situation, especially with Ren's documented mental health issues and them causing him so much stress. I think kujo thought Ren would give in and now he gets the back publishing he's owed but no further earnings from the song cuz Ren is making a new version that will be bigger and better without kujo involved at all. I think Kujo also underestimated how dedicated The Renegades are and what we will do to support Ren. If anyone wants to buy the single of this song if you buy it on Bandcamp it costs 1£ minimum which is $1.32 USD, but you can pay as much as you want as long as you pay the minimum amount and all proceeds on Fridays go directly to the artist so if you buy the song on Spotify or iTunes Spotify and iTunes get a cut whereas bandcamp only on Fridays if you buy any of Ren's music from bandcamp he gets all of the money that you pay towards his music directly to him That will help him to come for the money to really make sick boy the new version as big as he wants because he's losing all this money from lawyers and everything else due to this whole fiasco. I hope Ren feels so much better for getting this out of his system. So cathartic. And a healthy way to channel negative emotions. I have to admit on the first listen, it made me uneasy - had he gone too far? But on reflection, I now realise this is something he had to do. Hi Matt. As was made self evident by Ren in his explanation video, I think it would be nigh on impossible for a right thinking person to get on Ren's wrong side. He gave Kujo so many options to get out of this but was turned down. Kujo brought this all on himself. As for the girlfriend, in addition to her faking contracts and so forth, she also threatened to break Ren's legs.......so......no sympathy for her either. I think we have probably just witnessed the end of Kujo's career.
I think the point, would be you or I or pretty much anyone with even a passing understanding of show business, would never be in this situation to begin with. Kujo got the most amazing offer I've ever heard of, Ren basically saying, "I'll make sure you get your contract fulfilled for sic boi, and will Collab and split a new song 50/50 with you." Again, most people would have jumped at that chance. Instead, Kujo made the mistake a lot of people make, and mistook kindness for weakness. This was just the warning shot. As kind as a person can be, is also how ruthless they can become if you push them too far.

Kujo said he'd been chasing him for a year, but Ren shared conversations that showed Kujo had first reached out to Ren's lawyer in April, and Ren knew nothing about it until the copyright strike in July not long after he returned from Canada.
Just a note... I'm in a Ren fan group and apparently Kujo's girlfriend was trying to talk to the admin. Earlier today. Today, after this came out. I don't think she's going to be able to stay quiet.

The illegal sample that Kujo used as leverage is a more recent development Stress is very bad for Lyme disease The clinic found no trace of Lyme during his last year of treatment He now has a lyme infection which will need 1 year of Antibiotics Antibiotics make him allergic to foods etc so this could be potentially seriously unhelpful

I understand he wrote the lyrics on a train. Otherwise, you seemed to get the gist of it. Wondering why you did not address Ren briefly swapping places with the Kujo character, and the brutal ending of the choir? Nice that you reiterated seeing it on Ren's channel first. You really made that clear, which not enough reactors do.

Hi Matt. As was made self evident by Ren in his explanation video, I think it would be nigh on impossible for a right thinking person to get on Ren's wrong side. He gave Kujo so many options to get out of this but was turned down. Kujo brought this all on himself. As for the girlfriend, in addition to her faking contracts and so forth, she also threatened to break Ren's legs.......so......no sympathy for her either. I think we have probably just witnessed the end of Kujo's career.
For real. Terrible situation.
I think the point, would be you or I or pretty much anyone with even a passing understanding of show business, would never be in this situation to begin with. Kujo got the most amazing offer I've ever heard of, Ren basically saying, "I'll make sure you get your contract fulfilled for sic boi, and will Collab and split a new song 50/50 with you." Again, most people would have jumped at that chance. Instead, Kujo made the mistake a lot of people make, and mistook kindness for weakness. This was just the warning shot. As kind as a person can be, is also how ruthless they can become if you push them too far.

@@teckreactions no, he bought the beat in 2022, but the song came out last October. Kujo said he'd been chasing him for a year, but Ren shared conversations that showed Kujo had first reached out to Ren's lawyer in April, and Ren knew nothing about it until the copyright strike in July not long after he returned from Canada.

He only found out about the situation at the beginning of July this summer two weeks before heading up his first festival alone in 5 years
Sick boi was released early part of 2023
The problems were sent to his lawyer while Ren was in treatment for brain damage including surgery
The lawyer didnt share for this reason but was dealing with it
The main problem at the time was in production which was between Kujo and Beat Stars not Ren.
The illegal sample that Kujo used as leverage is a more recent development
Stress is very bad for Lyme disease
The clinic found no trace of Lyme during his last year of treatment
He now has a lyme infection which will need 1 year of Antibiotics
Antibiotics make him allergic to foods etc so this could be potentially seriously unhelpful
That is heartbreaking

@@teckreactions OMG, 🙄this is the 4th time I've read your reply to the same correction we're ALL trying to tell you with kindness & all due respect.
If you haven't done so yet I pray you go back and watch Ren's video, if not in it's entirety then at least the first 10min. Mistakes & misunderstandings are sometimes difficult to admit, but after the 2nd or 3rd time someone has attempted to correct the record, the proper & kind thing to say is "thank you for the information, I'll be sure to review it again to clear up any misconceptions I may have had."
