Parks used to be one of the best bbq spots in Detroit back in the day, but remember as the elders die off their kids and grandkids are taking over the business. So the food quality usually goes down cause the kids may not have the same cooking skills and passion that their parents and grandparents did.
My family loved Parks BBQ! Me, not so much. This was back in the 90's. The fact they look the exact same, no remodel since then tells the story. Greens is gone, but Vicky's is the only other that's decent.

The texture has always been hit or miss depending on the piece of meat lolol but i dont know... still a childhood favorite of mine. However, it is better to review HIGHLY RECOMMENDED restaurants as oppose to hitting the nail on the coffin of a struggling restaurant. If you didn't see a buzz at that spot, why run the place in the dirt?

The BEST Cole slaw though, used to be Jerry's on the other side of Livernois. I mean CANNOT BE BEAT Cole Slaw. I doubt if the same cook is they but LAWD if they are. It is a MUST TRY. It's "HOOD" tamf but was worth it!!! Best Subs: The Original Gonella's in Melville. Best Soul Food: Mr. B's on W. Six Mile.
