Casey, thank you again for a wonderful tutorial! You, and Alex and 3-4 other folks, have the ability to teach this complex stuff without boring us on the one hand or losing/confusing us on the other. And I agree with you (and I think you've mentioned it before), with the arrival of Affinity Photo and Designer as substitutes for Photoshop and Illustrator, I never looked back. Now with Resolve Fusion coupled with Blender, who needs After Effects? Goodbye Adobe! Anyway, Keep up the great work. Thanks again.
One of my biggest challenges with trying to not rely so heavily on the Adobe ecosystem is motion graphics. Im so used to After Effects and layers that doing stuff like this tutorial in Fusion just seemed like way too much. I learned a lot (and I learn from all of your videos) but this is a favorite because its practical and real world and so many ticks & tips woven in. Id love to see more of these type videos.
Got to start loving nodes when watching this. Such splendid work. I think nodes gives one more control and oversight. Very relieving also to see that all this is done without entering Adobe's realm. Thank you!
Loved this video thanks so much - really cool to show some more advanced stuff. Would be awesome for these more advanced and specific tutorials if you provided a link for the sample media (logo / Lizard Monster) etc in the description so we can follow along with the same media you are using. Would really take your video tuts to the next level. Thanks again appreciate all you do :)
Really awesome stuff! Been wondering if there's a way to do like a complicated text morph. Like write a text and convert it to shapes and animate those shapes. This in-depth video is really nice.
these types of stuff we really need in da vinci resolve like seriously this is a greate way to also introduce some advance stuff to new commers great work bro seriously appreiciated
Man, this was really sick! Hey, what I'd like to see is how you would create maybe not a movie logo, but something like a video-game intro? if you google Cyberpunk 2077, for example, there are a lot of images of the main character standing in front of the city, and the camera would move from behind the character's back zooming in on the city, and then the shot would kinda blur and the game logo would appear. Something like that. Like adding a bit of life and cinematic feel to a static image. I am not sure if I explained what I mean properly, after all English is not my native language :D But anyway, that kind of tutorial would be awesome! And thanks a lot, I learn a lot from your videos!
Good Christ Casey! You asked on your community feed what we wanted more of, THIS was the answer to that question. It covered almost everything that everyone was asking for. So that would make you think, “aaaaahhhh do more of that!”. Yes and No. I can’t speak for anyone else here but while this was an extremely mind blowing project, with what I have come to expect as your usual aplumb (10c word), the rest of what we were asking for is still there and really needs to get addressed. So now you’ve made your answer to your question even more complex! Because while this is a process video of showing what you can do with the nodes of DR-F, it also really drives home the point of FOUNDATION, FOUNDATION, FOUNDATION! Oh and my “Good Christ” above was my textual version of WTaF did I just watch ??? OMG that was amazing! Thank you for sharing this with your community! Wow. Oh and if anyone ever comes at you in the comments remember YOU ARE A GOOD TEACHER! Take that from someone who used to teach adults for a living! It’s not easy my friend and you make this look insanely simple. But you and I know it’s not. Thank you.
Please do the Titles form Warner Bros. / Legendary Pictures / Virtual Studios (300 & 300: Rise of an Empire). You will find that on youtube. I am very interested in how the cloudy logo reveal was done. That would be so cool!
i have been wanting to recreate some tv intros. something in the style of "foundation" on apple tv would be way fun. a bit in depth maybe, and PC intensive, but i know you could simplify it and point is in the right direction like you always do.
Well tried the free intro tutorials it was painfully slow, lots of adverts for the paid courses just not for me, will find stuff on the yt that's more my pace.
22:41 when I'm taking the transformation nodes to mask red text, the text disappears. But when I mask the transformation of the text (I used text with transformation to make the text). The text appears double. I did a hack and ungrouped the brush, and took the output of displace to the text, and flipped the other one with transform. Dirty work, but it makes the job done. Thanks for the tutorial. Made a title out of this for my first series.
I had no idea Purturb was even an option in expressions. I usually add the flicker node. BTW is there any way of turning it off by default so masks don't keyframe when you make adjustments? It's really annoying when I'm adjusting a mask and later I find that I was on another frame and it's animating it from my original mask, and I have to go in and delete all the keyframes it made. Thanks
I'm looking through the comments and everyone is praising like y'all followed along and I'm here wondering how can all these people follow along without the PNGs? How am I suppose to go over this? Am I missing something here?
This is not beginner level. When I am in edit, I go up to fusion the only thing it will let me do is import something. There is no "fusion page" that I can just go to.
Check out the FREE 9 Nodes course: www.groundcontrol.film/9-nodes-workshop
The whole repurposing of effects and masks, the opposing strokes over the text working automatically... mind blown. Very elegant.
This sort of content is awesome. Medium to advanced techniques for graphics. More please! Also, Perturb vs Shake???
I"m really glad to see some more advanced stuff. Great work!
bro… this is SUPER COOL and amazing… more of this please 💪😎
SO cool! Yes , more of these, Please.

You're so damn talented, Casey. I Loved the video and would like to see more of these in the future!
Another incredible Fusion Lesson, Thanks. 🎉😢😮😅❤
Ah, man, that is sick! We'd love to see more advanced stuff like this on your channel. You're the king of fusion!
Absolutely amazing, per usual.
Brilliant and so easy to apply to so many other things.
This was great! Give us more advanced stuff like this!
This is the kind of resolve content that’s really needed!
You are a wizard. I'm so going to try this one.

Lovely animation, great tutorial! Thanks Casey!

Love these fast paced "how to do this" type videos. I didnt realise you can mask a mask or reuse noeldes like this. Great lesson
Alucinante tu alto nivel de narración, edición y conocimientos. Te sigo desde hace muchos tiempo y aprendo un montón de vos! Gracias.... totales....
Please do more of these! I'd like to see recreations of TH-cam intros

Awesome. Need more logo animations
wow! amazing tutorial. learnt so much !

Simple, but awesome! Love the content Casey, more tutorials like these please!!

Yes more!!!!
Learned A LOT about fusion from Casey, I'm not great yet but getting there :D

Love it! I am using your stuff creating some ads for a private Christian school out in Saipan.
If I could drop a heart and not just a thumbs up, I would. Thanks for this next-level thinking! 💖 (Oh, look at that! ⬅)
This is great
Amazing!

You are in States. Thought you are down under. Learned one thing.
more motion graphics please
Saw this and thought this is way too much for me at the moment so going to try some of your intro courses see how i get on.
Well tried the free intro tutorials it was painfully slow, lots of adverts for the paid courses just not for me, will find stuff on the yt that's more my pace.
MORE!
I don't use particles enough, need to practice more with them.

Can you recreate Breaking Bad titles?
Freaking awesome stuff!!
How about adding a little flicker to the light rays? Another great tut. Thanks!
Same way, perturb that blend!
Niceeeee

You are amazing!!!
can you make tutorial for LEO movie THALAPATHY TITLE CARD
Love your material. What is the software you use to illustrate the concepts? (the one that is sort of like powerpoint but a lot better).
miro.com
Well, yeah node systems are essentially modular programming. Each node is a reusable chuck of code.
Cool.
I'm looking through the comments and everyone is praising like y'all followed along and I'm here wondering how can all these people follow along without the PNGs? How am I suppose to go over this? Am I missing something here?

Hey friend. The fusion page is accessible in the bottom bar that has the buttons. Hit the fusion button to switch to fusion. :)
