I want to add 2 things: Landmines are your best friend during long encounters. They really help against flanking, especially since enemies don’t react to them like they to grenades. And you maybe know this, if you played games like Doom Eternal, but you HAVE to know the roles of your weapons. You already get the basics from the datalogs, so you don’t even have to figure out that much on your own.
These are good tips. I just got the third chapter on the same difficulty, I can't stress enough how absolutely amazing slide jumping is in this game, I use it to get to the other side of an arena constantly.
i saw a DoomEternal veteran saying the game is too difficult at default/captain diffculty(under the mayo) , i playted in the harder Commander difficulty and found it perfect. dont think, brute force your way through like a jack hammer. Treat yourself like a tank, (despite everyone in this game beings glass cannon, if you play right you will feel weirdly tanky) so Dont be afraid to take a hit or trade with grunts or getting outta cover if you need to get rid of an enemy right now so that you dont get sandwiched you will save waaay more HP/armor and be more efficient while playing that way . Your health will never go down below 40 even though that playstyle sound reckless Improvise. improvise. improvise. Improvise on the go, adapt at an instant. Dont hope on a neat clean planning and following through it with clean k^lls, dont focus on surviving rather hyperfocus on elimitaing threats fast. doing that will make sure your survival more than being defensive style passive player
100% agree. I'd also like to point out the importance of flanking and repositioning. I'm not specifically sure how the enemy AI works, but if you keep re-peaking corners after you've been spotted, you're going to have a bad time. Try and break line of sight and reposition as the encounter progresses. Stay on the move.
Here I'm watching your video not to get good at the game, but to help decide whether I want it in the first place. I love Doom Eternal. But I'm realizing I'm not a big fan of 'boomer shooters' (ie Ion Fury, DN3D, etc), even if I like their aesthetics. You've said, and seem to be showing, that SELACO is its own thing. It isn't Doom Eternal... but it isn't a boomer shooter either. I do vaguely remember casually enjoying FEAR many moons ago. I'm also encouraged that the developer of this game mentioned officially incorporating an enemy randomizer option (unless I've misheard). This communicates to me that the game has kind of an organic flow of combat and that the harder difficulties won't necessitate memorizing exact enemy placements and executing super specific formulas. If that's the case, then I kind of want this. It definitely looks interesting.
Kudos for a fine choice of BGM when talking about 'Sliding'. Such a fine taste 🏎 Finished a few days ago. And I must say, that this game is not difficult, it's slow and clunky on purpose - kinda an identity crisis: "We are not a drive-crazy boomer shooter like Ultrakill or Turbo Overkill, but we are also not an immersive sim like Deus Ex. We are slow, tactical, and bloody. But we didn't even give you the ability to peek the corner and all enemies know your exact position when alarmed." I cheese the game using landmines and jump-slides with a shotie or pistol. The dart turret is a good thing too later on. And, BTW, try jump-slide when holding a barrel - it will send it far-far away, 2 of them may blow up a car, so they do damage too.
Oh, didn't know about the barrels, that's sick. Shame I wasn't further in when I recorded this because I'm sure some of the other weapons have cool case usages, too.
Hmmm, hard to say. I think there are some elements of visual clutter that make navigation a bit difficult for me personally. Also, the narrative seems to be tucked away into the background such that I'm not entirely sure what's going on, especially at the beginning. Not being able to switch secondary fire modes in the menu, instead having to travel to safe points, is a bit cumbersome. Very minor complaints, though. Lastly, having to wait for more content 😂
tbh i feel like your gameplay is kinda shoddy, assuming you are playing on commander difficulty or harder, your heath would be gone instantly if you were constantly out in the open like this, i feel like these tips only apply for easy difficulty, you need to hide behind cover alot on the harder modes
I recorded this playing on Commander difficulty a few days after launch. Honestly with the changes made to side dashing, how the shotgun operates post patch, and the inclusion of Hard Boiled mode, some of these strats may be more viable. Play however you like and find success with.

Elaborates on useful combat tips and then proceeds to drive the point home by absolutely dominating the enemies with kicks and punches. Mad respect
Really appreciate the kind words. Thank you.
@@thefractalcactus all SELACO players should watch this, I had no idea how effective it is to side dash and slide into enemies.

It's really fun to do and is insanely useful. Plus, slamming into enemies like Bruce Lee never gets old.

if you like boomer shooters you should try cultic, infinite dashes and re4 enemies
Cultic is sick.

5:44 I like how the enemy's head landed neatly in the middle of the frame lol
Thank god this game wasn’t afraid of being difficult
The only thing I would want them to change, is to give the smg it's own ammo type, because I never ended up using it
I will corner hug and gib with the shotgun through the entire game.
They buffed the shotgun a little in the newest update, so that might be viable.
Nice guide mate! I have a question, what are the parts about the Selaco that you don't like so far?
