@@christno2 all our players leaving? No big Arsenal player left in 2001. That was 2000 when Overmars and Petit left for Barcelona. We upgraded them anyway with Gilberto and Pires. Arguably pound for pound the greatest signing in premier league history and I am a City fan. But also the most cruel by a player, especially when he had other top clubs and European clubs he could have went to.
He could have gone anywhere! The Spurs fans wouldn't have like it, but they have seen it so many times before, the drain of talent, usually to Man Utd. But maybe he was too dim to understand his betrayal. No one with any pride would do that, and Kane certainly wouldn't. Do you think if the roles were reversed now, and it was Spurs battling for silverware and Arsenal failing, do you think Odegard would flip teams and crap on the Arsenal fans? Better still, at that time if circumstances were reversed, do you think that any circumstance would have made Adams switch? Me neither!
As a Forest fan, we went through this same pain with Kris Commons. Thankfully it's worked out now but it does hurt when your best player jumps ship to your greatest rivals
This mini-documentary literally prooves the only person that can't "get over it" is Campbell!! His entire football career is defined by this move, which is why he has agreed to, YET AGAIN, appear in a mini-documentary about the move! The move will be like an albertos around his neck until he dies. Mention his name and this is all that anyone talks about.
Can't blame him. Kane did the opposite and look where that's taken him, running around Germany for trophies. Spurs were naive and should have given him an ultimatum with 2yrs left like most clubs do now and either get him to sign or put him up for sale. With 0-1yr left Campbell had all the power and could call the shots. The fact that its Arsenal he went to is really immaterial when it comes to professional football. Campbell wasn't a fan playing for free, he had a certain amount of time to maximise his potential in a situation that matched his preferred lifestyle. History proved him right.
Thank you sol for having the caghones leaving a club that has won two trophies in the last three decades,a real alpha man right there did us gunners proud

@@menubuje The abuse from his treachery cuts him deep, can't you tell? He could have gone to any of the top clubs in the whole of Europe, won European titles as well and suffered no hard feelings from the Spurs fans. Switch the roles for instance, say, Arsenal are doing poorly and Spurs are winning, what's it going to take for Adams to leave and go join Tottenham? Never happen! Because he, like most footballers, have some kind of integrity and loyalty to the club and fans. @@menubuje My whole point is, and sorry for laboring the point, but the only place Campy could have gone to get the kind of abuse he has was Arsenal, Spurs' main and most hated rivals. Believe me, perhaps not from you as you are more tolerant, but Adams would have received the same hatred and abuse from the Arsenal fans, had he have acted as disloyally as Campy did! Like you said, he must be really dim to be shocked by the reaction! In addition, the way the whole affair was kept a secret so that his jumping ship and going to Arsenal could retain the shock and surprise factor when the new signing was revealed did exactly help either. 😂😂Just more fuel on the fire!
Gooner here. I have no ill feelings toward Van Persie and others who have left Arsenal to seek trophies that we couldn't provide. Spurs fans on the surface want commitment to the club even when they're not challenging. Sometimes clubs and fans think they own players for the rest of their life. If a player doesn't play well, he will not be signed for the next season... Also, as a player if a company comes that pays more for your service, you sign them - it is about business. Why would a player be a loyal to a club, when he will be replaced if the club finds a better player... likewise the players should also be able to replace a club, if they find a club they want.

Yeah, that's why he's still crying about the abuse he's getting and how much he's hated. 😂
@@BeGoodNow5 I mean if you were in his shoes you'd feel a bit of disdain towards the club
@@TommyShelby-y8s He made his bed, so he had to lie in it! He didn't have to lie to everyone, management, supporters and the press repeatedly, and then in the darkness of night, like some slimy betraying Judas, meet with the hated rivals. Remember at the time, he could have gone to any club, ask for any amount of money, but he chose the hated enemy! No, I don't think I or you, even if we had some issues with a club, would do what he did!
He has no legacy thougj
Oh, for the days of David Dein. It would be lovely to have another theatre transfer like this at Arsenal in January. Not sure why we’ve lost that edge and become so nice around transfers.
Where's the interviews with the Spurs fans after the transfer from an original video saying that Tottenham were on the up and Arsenal were on a downward spiral with all our players leaving? That was comedy gold the desperation in their faces.
@@christno2 all our players leaving? No big Arsenal player left in 2001. That was 2000 when Overmars and Petit left for Barcelona. We upgraded them anyway with Gilberto and Pires. Overmars had become injury prone and Petit was on the decline (as we saw when he was back in the Premier League for Chelsea in 2001)
@@franklingoodwinalso Anelka in 1999, instantly replaced with the King
Mr Dean. We are forever grateful for your time with Arsenal.
ARTETA OUT
Can't believe Sega were sponsoring Arsenal
I was born in 1991, the Sol Campbell chants were the first time I felt genuinely uncomfortable as a football fan
If a Spurs player joined Arsenal, it would hurt, but a player as good as him one of your own, our captain, it garuntees generational hatred.
Double Double Double
Sol Campbell won the doubleee
I bet when Sol Campbell looks at his trophy cabinet and thinks how empty it would have been if he stayed at Tottenham....he regreats nothing!
I still remember where I was when they announced this transfer on the radio. It completely blew my mind lol
Love him or hate him, hes a proper CB tho.
There was only one club that wouldn't have been acceptable to the Spurs fans that they would never forgive him for, and because he doesn't have a loyal bone in his body, he chose them. Well he's got some silverware, but I bet every time the name Tottenham is mentioned, he feels really good....NOT! 😂
@ exactly mate as K hate United thankfully he didn’t go there. Who knows what more they would have won. But that would have been a better decision. Shearer and Gerrard turned down those clubs for loyalty shows you a lot more about their characters and why Newcastle and Liverpool see them as icons of the city nevermind the club
@@mkk4682 Well said!
18:30 lol Wenger's smile 🤣
Sol chose to play with Henri / Bergkamo / Pires / to name a few as opposed to playing with Ruel Fox
All these clubs were going for Sol and he came to The Arsenal 👏🏾👏🏾🔴⚪️
I will never forget when I was younger going to WHL for Sol's return, never seen anything like it. The streets were chaos. Days before his transfer I remember a newspaper back page and they have edited him into an Arsenal shirt, I laughed at it as did my Dad... thinking it would never happen.... then.... wow. On another note, please put David Pleat on more shows, he is so intelligent in the World of Football
That's because spurs fans are Muppets
Double, double, double... 🔴⚪
SOL CAMPBELLS WON THE DOUBLEEEEE
Cant say im not fuming rn but fair enough gooners XD
6 ucls 6 ucls top of the league arteta is 🗑
"Double double double, sol campbell's won the double...."
Steve Mcmanaman was the first real English premier league player to move on for a bosman to real Madrid.
OMG, the effort here is insane. Totally love it.
Bot
I used to go home and away with spurs at this time I will never forget and never forgive, simple as that
PRATT
Arsenal fans can relate after Van persie jumping the old Trafford wagon
Barcelona chased him round the garden...where's the pun?
I remember the day he signed for us! I ran straight in the front room, grabbed the TV remote off my dad and went straight to teletext page 302! And yes it was true!!
12:55 That smirk on his face showed he knew he had snatched something very precious from Spurs.
david dean's era at arsenal was 🔥🔥🔥 wish we still had him
Best transfer in football history❤
Hollywood signing
Cantona
And Spuds have won 1 trophy since. He knew!
Kane should've done the same thing...!
Me neither!
He's an arsenal fan you clown
Conveniently not mentioned he walked out on Arsenal as well lol.
“Sol Campbell is a really honourable person”. He might be the most shameless footballer ever 😂😂
No, not 'might be,' Is!
As a Forest fan, we went through this same pain with Kris Commons. Thankfully it's worked out now but it does hurt when your best player jumps ship to your greatest rivals
20 years and Spurs cant get over it. What a joke of a club
I wanted kane also
Bottle job Arsenal 🍾
This mini-documentary literally prooves the only person that can't "get over it" is Campbell!! His entire football career is defined by this move, which is why he has agreed to, YET AGAIN, appear in a mini-documentary about the move! The move will be like an albertos around his neck until he dies. Mention his name and this is all that anyone talks about.
Scumbag fans
I will NEVER forget the teletext of Sol Campbell's arrival at Arsenal... I was even more so happy that I could play with him on my team on PES 2.
Love the detail on this. Sol was a great acquisition for us but I completely understand how spurs fans feel I wont lie
I wanted kane rub it in even further loser club
That smile at the press conference lol hahaha legendary 😂😂😂 hahahaha
You can’t do what he did and expect Spurs fans to welcome him with a golf clap. You knew what you signed up for. That was part of the deal.
Thank you sol for having the caghones leaving a club that has won two trophies in the last three decades,a real alpha man right there did us gunners proud
he did me proud as a spurs fan. one of the best english defenders ever
To be fair a player of his calibre should have gone to a far bigger club than Arsenal
"you forgot the champaign." that was cold
£18m was huge money for a CB then!
After Leeds bid for Sol was rejected, they used that 18 million on Rio instead
I remember this when inwas young,it was massive news back then.
Absolute legend. True winner.
Famous last words. Its happened loads with other players. Cashley cole, Lampard. Loads of players.
I don't know what Spurs fans are complaining about, Sol did bring a Premier League win to White Hart Lane!?! What more did they want? LMAO!
Charmless unfunny Arsenal fan- theres a surprise...🫠
😂🤣😂😭😭😭🥶🥶🥶
22:24 holy crap that starting 11 would destroy the prem right now
Absolute disgrace the way he was treated. Nothing but a legend! 🏆
Arsenal Legend ❤
Of course Alan Sugar knew more than anyone....
Spurs Legacy: Players leaving to win trophies
Sol Campbell said he wanted to win the league at white hart lane, so he joined Arsenal.
Wouldn't trust a word Alan Sugar says
I agree. I also wouldn’t trust a word David Dein say.
Proper scumbag he wanted to blackmail Sol in to staying
What a player. I understand that it hurts the Spurs fans but thank goodness Sol Campbell got to fulfil his potential
Could never say it was a betrayal when you had our manager George Graham.
Sol Campbell was that dude
"Well, it's a Tottenham thing..."
Back then it was very exciting like Christmas 🎄 in every transfer window ,you don't know which player clubs would buy unlike now with all the quick social media updates with mostly a lot of fake transfer rumours😅
In the end he made the right decision. 2 Prems including being in the invincible team and 3 FA Cups in 5 years
Nonsense, he could have gone to any of the top teams, because they all wanted him, all around Europe as well, and won much more! And he wouldn't have had to endure the abuse that he rightly deserves and still gets to this day. One thing though, he has outdone all the Spurs greats in one respect, to this day he still has a song sung especially for him by the Tottenham fans. And I'm sure he's proud of that! 😂🤣😂
@ You sound like a Spurs fan. How can you say he didn’t make the right decision when he won trophies 😂. Fair enough if he didn’t win 0 trophies or anything significant but that wasn’t the case. Also a part of a team that gonna be remembered for years and years to come with the invincibles
Remember, we're talking club captains here, but even Petite years after he left Arsenal couldn't join Tottenham, because he saw it as betrayal to the fans if he did. 'Nuff said!'😎
@ I wouldn’t blame Adams if he went to Spurs and he actually won stuff if he wasn’t winning at Arsenal. Sol Campbell won trophies at the end of the day. The abuse was always gonna happen and maybe Sol was naive to think that people would forget. But Sol Campbell probably wouldn’t trade not having abuse for everything he achieved at Arsenal which is why at the end of the day he made the right decision. Maybe he didn’t love Spurs that much or he aint all the way there in the head because I find it funny how he’s so shocked that Spurs fans hate and abuse him 😂😂
@@menubuje My whole point is, and sorry for laboring the point, but the only place Campy could have gone to get the kind of abuse he has was Arsenal, Spurs' main and most hated rivals. 😂😂Just more fuel on the fire!
as an 51 year old arsenal fans . SOl signing really excite me at that time. i wasnt disappointed.
Jelly and ice when he goes.
Gooner here. I have no ill feelings toward Van Persie and others who have left Arsenal to seek trophies that we couldn't provide. Spurs fans on the surface want commitment to the club even when they're not challenging. There's not 1 Spurs fan who would stick with their employer if they weren't going to progress under that employer.
Big up Sol every time ✊🏾🇯🇲💯
Sometimes clubs and fans think they own players for the rest of their life.
Beautiful documentary 😄
Campbell had to leave spurs to win the league at WHL 😂
His agent at the time, Sky Andrew, did an interview on AFTV a couple years back. Well worth a watch.
