I like your point about viewing the group of synths as a band and especially the Labyrinth and DFAM being the drums, percussion and bass.
A trick I like to employ is running the VCOs out of the SubH into M32 and DFAM external audios and then blending those in when the time is right as my backing vocal harmonies. Great set piece for when you need to switch to another part.
    Great video!

That was... AMAZING! And you reminded me why I love my little Moogs so much. I actually just bought a used Mother-32 because of this video, to add to my Sub and DFAM. Labyrinth is next, and I may go for another Rackbrute.
Aside from feeding my GAS, you actually made me spend some quality time with the Sub, fed by a Turing Machine and my Strega, all turned into a beautiful mess by Imitor Versio.
I loved every second of it. And I have you to thank for it.

Just put a sound studio 3+ together - this is hugely inspiring. Very beautiful work.

Thanks for this video. Reminds me about just how versatile my Sound Studio is, and why I’m considering a Labyrinth. And thank you in particular for your remark about the DFAM and Subharmonicon responding better to West Coast recipes - I think a whole new rabbit hole has just opened up!

Love this!! Mother 32 was my intro into the eurorack world. The story tells itself....... BUT - That is one piece I will never sell. That and my DFAM and Sub 37. Hold on to your old Moog's!!!!!

The Enjoy Lab Godfather is a nice addition to the Sound Studio to mix four channels, get a saturator, reverb, delay, double pulse delay, compressor, dj-style filter and panning effects in the same 60 hp form factor. They also sell a 5-level rack.

Yes, when the Mother32 came out, I bought one. Then I bought another. Then a Subharmonicon. This year, a Spectravox and a Labyrinth. But ya know, that sequencer on the 55 is not a slouch. That's three rows of eight, and those rows can be divided. So eight CVs, one for tone, timbre, volume. Or two (16 notes) for tone, and one repeats for timbre. Or of course, 24 notes. And then there's the clever tricks I've seen others do with it.
Yeah, we've al heard these sounds before. And we've been listening to the same Stradivarius violins for over 300 years, and they are still cherished. Time to make music. There's a universe to explore.

Love the Moog filter sound. Reminds of me when we were writing a bassline for our single using a fucked up Minimoog belonging to Martin Hannet at Strawberry Studios in Stockport. Graham from 808 State was producing. We’d asked for the thing, It got delivered and literally 5 minutes later, we had the sound we wanted, a huge thick wedge of bass. Graham who at that point had never used one before turned to me and said “i want one”.

the M32 was my first foray into modular, and i've traded dozens of synths over the last couple years. it's still one of my favorites. i really enjoyed the narrative of your mom to go with it. keep making music, it's rad!

This is wonderful! The Mother, DFAM, Sub, and Labyrinth are my main synths. I also use it with a rack of utilities, such as Pam's Pro, Maths, Ochd, EG's, an additional filter, LPG, VCA, buffered and passive multiples, an attenuverter, two mixers, and effects in said euorack case. It's brilliant.
PS - I really need to get an Instruo Arbhar!

At 7:21 that sawtooth reminds me when i was turning on the PS1 after school lol.
Now, I have others toys like the moog studio 3. Just wonder, if i want to add effect on it, is ok to plug the whole studo into a single pedal loop. It will sounds ok or too muddy. Maybe it's preferable to plug each unit into separate fx ? Thanks in advance.

Wish Moog would bring back the Sound Studio 3 synth bundle with all the cool stuff and updated to include the Labyrinth and Spectravox in a second tiered rack.

I'm a total amateur and would never be able to use more than a few % of this setup's possibilities. But I still want it, simply because it is such a beautiful setup. When not in use, it's simply a really pretty piece of decoration. But (un)fortunately, I simply have no more room for hobby stuff in my place. Or the extra money for something that at my place would mostly be something pretty that you can fiddle with and get some nice sounds out of :)
(still keeping an eye out on the used market ;) )
    Cheers!

@CinematicLaboratory I definitely agree that individually nothing is too special, the magic is in combing the Mother, DFAM, Subharmonicon, and Labyrinth. Just like one eurorack module by itself is nothing on it's own; it's all in bringing modules together. I do believe the Moog Sound Studio 3 is great, if not repetitive, but you can work around that. Would you ever consider getting an additional DFAM and/or a Mother-32..?

Cross patching the Moog tabletops is where the magic lies; and they are priced inexpensively for the circuit access that modular brings.

One great thing about them is they typically hold their value so you shouldn’t be out much $$ selling and buying unless you have it away.
