lol Ie thought I'd recorded every corner of my house/backyard thru the soma ether, but it never occurred to me to pass it over a live rack . D'uh. Beautiful video, well done.
This was great Robert. That is an interesting module. Hainbach is so good at capturing the interesting bits of electronic equipment. Thanks for making this! Also hoping you do some MakeNoise ReSynthesizer videos! 😀
Thanks! I am already working on Episode 02 because this was a tough listen. It's such a wonderful module and it's not just 'shortwave noise'. I am now figuring out the normalizations. I think MakeNoise is planning a weekly video on the Resynthesizer, but I have just finished the necessary case layout, so yes, definitely doing my own series too!
I sample anything that’s rhythmic or percussive .. iPhone memo recorder and Izotope RX got a lot of use back when I was actually producing music .. I need to stop watching stuff on Facetube in the morning and get back to work.. Lost my way ..
Yes, a dishwasher can make rhythm and music, just ask Klangphonics! Along with an espresso machine, a pressure sprayer, a police siren, a copy machine, a sewing machine, a singing saw, a lawn mower, a vacuum cleaner, and whatever else was in arm's reach. It just that those aren't controlled with 1v/oct... but their sound can be processed with a Collide 4!
My stepfather was the head of projects on the SCSC you’re gear came from ….congress chose the international space station which is about to bring the most resistant bacteria ever if it touches the earth again.
I think it is test equipment in the sense to test how far they can go selling absurd noisemakers for a lot of money. (And i started with eurorack to make weird noise, still enjoy it, but this seems almost like a parody of an eurorack module and the whole scene and industry to me.)
I can understand what you mean, and I respect your opinion. However, this episode is also about ME learning the module, trying to catch up with people who've gained many years of experience. I was going through all the tech that's involved and using the Error Instruments TASSEL module (a TRUE noisemaker) may not have been a good choice for episode 01. The guitar part was already much better imho. I am sure episode 02 (coming tomorrow) will be a more enjoyable listen. This thing can make a lot of absurd noise, but it's not an absurd noise maker. It's a precision instrument, almost a surgical tool. In this case, I am to blame, not the module. Respectfully I believe Hainbach is one of the most serious musicians the scene has to offer and I don't think his vintage wall was due to mental issues. He wasn't joking about it. He was on to something and he shared the passion. Also, Joranalogue is a force of nature.
I have a hybrid pedalboard eurorack and I make structured songs, but working with these interacting tools through CV made me experience sound in a more detailed way. I see it thusly: These instruments are introducing a deaper and richer way to experience the textural aspect that exists in all music. SO we are collectivelly now experimenting with pure texture to experience how these instruments work just as a child randomly plucks the strings of a guitar he has never seen before. From the little I have come to understand the Collide 4 could be described as a glorified Ring modulator LOL! But I really don't know. At the end of the day its a tool, and as all tools it depends on those who use it. You say you enjoy making noises, but it seems you want to go beyond pure texture.... who is holding you back? The tools?
Not really interested in this module. Seems like a lot of things we already have available to us all smashed into one compact unit, and possibly loses some flexibility in the process. My opinion of course… to each his own.
This module is now maturing on me like Cognac. Episode 03 has been a disaster and I am going to do a remake. Thanks for sharing your comment, much appreciated. For now, I think the potential of this module is huge, but it doesn't easily come out and I am working hard on how to achieve that. Please stay tuned, and hopefully you can enjoy the ride.
@@CinematicLaboratory Oh of course I'll come along for the trip! I'm ready to be convinced, amazed, and bedazzled and I'm sure you're the one who can do it if anyone can. Lead on!

pixelated Hainbach. free Hainbach!
Didn't ask for permission and it's rare to see Hainbach play something normal, so this is all due to privacy.
H's module is wonderful.

Keith Rowe would enjoy this Bob
