Thank you for your support. I truly appreciate it. You are the perfect example of what I've been trying to explain. This is a swing for life. Anyone can do this because it doesn't take strength. It is about staying super loose and using some body rotation to get the speed. Just takes a little understanding and work but the payoff is well worth it. Please keep at it. Stay focused on your body with super loose wrists and you will be hitting it longer than ever.
Paul as you suggested I have started playing a practice round alone going to start using my alignment stick on the course. It’s makes so much sense… brilliant.

Hey Paul, I strengthened by grip on purpose in order to start pull hooking it. Now, my body automatically adjusted to hitting more from the inside. So glad you like it. I always thought the point of the person learning was so they could do it without me (others seem to want you coming back). So the Fix Your Own Swing section is a big part of it. I just picked up a new mat on ebay. 5x5 thick one and it's great. Search this: 5'x5' Duffer™ Commercial Golf Mat 1.25" thick made 4 golf - no cheap white foam. It was $289. This will last you years.
Hi Paul, I have been trying for years to get the ball to start more out to the right but even when I turn my arms completely off and hit 100 yard shots with my 7 iron. I reckon I am coming in perhaps -2 or -3 degrees out to in with a slight fade or a slight pull. Is this OK if I want to be a single digit handicap? By the way I do this alignment drill every day at the range but maybe 90% of balls start left of the stick.
You are hitting with arms. When you do you tilt left in the downswing. Tilt left and you will swing left. You can certainly play the fade. This is the shot I want. The draw just goes anywhere and everywhere plus you need to practice daily. @@paulwilsongolf Jimmy said that directly to me in 1979 and Jimmy probably got it from Sam Byrd who played for the Yankees and owned the driving range where Jimmy knew him. I enjoyed your lesson and I subscribed. Thanks
Well Leadbetter must have stole it off of him. He has a picture in his book page 12 The Golf Swing by David Leadbetter 1990. I have been compared to Jimmy numerous times over the years. I read his book many years ago.
Paul: I love your swing thoughts. I hope this can help my grand daughter who is on her school golf team because she got into the habit of using her softball swing and arms to hit it hard and started coming over the top. I’d like to have her just turn her right shoulder back and basically feel her arms connected to her shoulders without the conscious effort of swinging her arms. She had gotten to the point to where she was then lining up about 20 yards left to compensate for her slice. Am I on the right track with my type and yours together? Finally what Driver are you hitting here? Thanks so much!
Well, I would definitely be checking her alignment. You should watch these too. Need to fix the over the top ASAP. You can do what you are working on as connection is important but you need to get the lower body moving. Just ask her how she would hit a homerun? Would or could she do that with no leg and hip action. Doubt it. So have her do swings up in the air but concentrate on the leg action. Once she gets the feeling she need to step up and apply this feeling to the shot. I would show her my students video here: th-cam.com/video/I8WRHJkTzyY/w-d-xo.html Then you can watch these too. @@paulwilsongolf I’ve had the Callaway Epic, like it. I have the new Ben Hogan irons, and was going to get one of their Drivers and a new set of irons but they went out of business, sob. Thanks Paul for you great videos and interaction with your students.
@paul wilson golf I’m returning to golf from a 25 year layoff and working hard on grooving a easy powerful pain free swing. Do you have any recommendations for irons ? I use to be a 3 handicap and used Wilson FG 55 blades (still own them) also would you recommend regular or stiff shafts. I know it’s not an easy question without seeing my swing but would love your opinions Thanks Scott
I have taught many people in your situation who took a break and are getting back into it. Anyone in this situation will hit with their arms when they get back into golf. This is due to human nature. I talk about it in this tip: th-cam.com/video/fuOJxv_22Hk/w-d-xo.html I would suggest a slight cavity back. Just makes live easier. Stiff shafts should be fine. Regular are going to be too whippy. Let's get you swing back then get some new clubs. This is easy because to get to a 3 hdcp you would have been using your body. So, turn the arms off and feel the lower body powering the swing. Supper loose wrists is the key. Try to do daily practice swings at home because you don't want to get the arms in this swing. In no time you will have it and be easily in the 70's then you can get your new clubs and go low.
Quick question sir. My irons are goin right(no slice)and I'm getting them in the air really good. Goin right is a product of what? I don't do it on my short irons. Thanks
You don't do that on short irons because they are shorter. The shorter clubs are easier to release. You need to loosen your wrists. Right now you are trying to hit the longer clubs too hard which is tightening your wrists. So watch these and hook a few: th-cam.com/video/M868QsTlGt4/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/p4vASmOzkPg/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/N-nGM6yN790/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/yHEv7G9Z5-0/w-d-xo.html Once you can do that switch to firing your lower body to straighten it back out.
You need to fire the lower very quick. It's like hitting the accelerator on a car. Fire the lower and the upper falls back. For those that can't do it I have them manually tilt. So you set up an alignment stick. Tee it up. Hit 7 iron. Purposely tilt and hit every ball right until you train the tilt. Once you can do that you start adding legs and/or hips so the ball no longer blows right. Just think TURN to start down. Problem is people don't listen and always want to hit perfect shots so they never do it long enough to master it. This is a drill to get you doing a pro move. I would say this will take weeks to a month of daily practice swings at home or range practice. There are other ways to do it that may work faster. Here you go: th-cam.com/video/sbE-hzTXgNo/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/p6YWiBPnQqI/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/lpAugDvakfU/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/D1KL7G8Vmro/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/2cPM_FSoHNM/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/OHSciOQ15AE/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/mp8MriLZ4sg/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/64xUMTcrn2I/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/cogyf6UjH7U/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/m8FxSZSmKEw/w-d-xo.html (secret tip) If you want it instantly do my secret tip. Hi Paul, does this also count for irons ? It's very difficult for me, I tried a lot of stuff but still my arms and shoulders keep pushing it over the top

@@paulwilsongolf I definitely get it. From the other side, the casual golfer has been scammed with simple solutions for decades. Top teachers still teach gimmicky swings and charge premium prices, and ultimately leave most swings in shambles. It's really hard to know what to trust. I can't say this video helped me, but some of your others definitely have. Thank you. With less focus on checkpoints and my thoughts on natural fluid movements, I had confidence in my game and was able to really focus on playing golf. I shot even par and helped get my team to our league championship. How cool is that?!
I see that. Mind boggling what's out there. This is why I promote few training aids. Glad you have been checking out some of my tips and seeing results. The swing has to be simple. It has to be a movement you can actually do but it shouldn't be some weird move. You have to stay within certain parameters. Even par is great. You have to be doing something right. Simple is the key. Keep on doing what you are doing and don't get too technical.

I would show her my students video here:

Thank you. Sent her the secret and it is very logical. I appreciate that Paul answers so many questions. What driver are you hitting Oaul?
I hit a Taylor M5. I have the Sim, Sim 2 and Stealth. I just don't like them. The face caved in on my M5 so I got another one after trying to switch to the others for a while. Just can't do it.
I know it’s not an easy question without seeing my swing but would love your opinions
Thanks
Scott
I have taught many people in your situation who took a break and are getting back into it. Anyone in this situation will hit with their arms when they get back into golf. This is due to human nature. I talk about it in this tip:
th-cam.com/video/fuOJxv_22Hk/w-d-xo.html
I would suggest a slight cavity back.
@@paulwilsongolf thanks again Paul !
So watch these and hook a few:

th-cam.com/video/N-nGM6yN790/w-d-xo.html
th-cam.com/video/yHEv7G9Z5-0/w-d-xo.html
Once you can do that switch to firing your lower body to straighten it back out.
Thanks man well done
You're welcome.
I have a hard time when I tilt back and at the same time getting my weight to my front side with the uncoil. Any tips on how to combine the two moves?
Here you go:

Hi Paul, does this also count for irons ? It's very difficult for me, I tried a lot of stuff but still my arms and shoulders keep pushing it over the top
You can do it with burns too. If you hit it fat you have too much weight on the back foot at contact. Feel it get off this foot and the fat shots will go away.
@@paulwilsongolf Thx sir

Paul always seems so disappointed in me
I am. I hand this stuff to everyone on a sliver platter and yet some don't listen or do it. Eventually they come around but why would you not want to learn how to do it and try something new?
Great tip Paul. However you talk too much. I’d like to more demonstrations of what you are talking about instead of talking so much.
Glad you liked it. If you have no patience take your mouse on a PC or finger on a mobile device and skip forward. Simple. Keep in mind I think of things as I am doing the tip so those who don't watch the whole thing miss things then of course they ask me questions about what was in the tip.
Talk too much? I’ve watched dozens of your videos - you explain things better than anyone who does these things - don’t change a thing
I know. I watch my competition and most of mine are shorter than theirs. Wonder what they say to them?
They spend time trying to sell - sell -sell you something - which takes longer to get to the point of instruction - you do put a plug in at the end of your tips for The Body Swing program , which is certainly justified given all the instruction you so generously provide - i purchased it in 2018
