Hey everybody thanks for all your love and support this year!
sure beats my first year on TH-cam talking to dead air, lol
I'd be lying if I said the holidays were smooth sailing and totally inspiring and all pinterest-esqe every year in my sobriety.
That's just not how mine go, not yet anyway.
Sure there's lots of good times with loved ones and delicious foods, prayer and time to reflect in front of my small but mighty xmas tree. But there's also a whole lotta stress, triggering people like some relatives and places and things that aren't entirely avoidable during the holidays. I do take joy in listening to a few favorite songs and baking sweets, lots of sweets! and seeing my Christmas tree lit up in the night sparkling magically in the corner of my dining room and laugh as I think back to one of my times in detox being jealous of the newest client who stumbled in drunk and was in the staffs words "lit up like a mother fuckin Christmas tree"
I remember the gassy smell of detox like it was yesterday and I thank GOD for my progress in getting clean and sober and no longer envying the drunkest and highest person in the room!
I thank my lucky stars for my sobriety and family and supportive online friends (that's YOU!)
But
for me the holidays are still hard every year
this year I dealt more with depression than the urge to use
soo for that alone I'm ecstatic!
I'm mostly relieved they are behind me for now
and decided to end the year doin what lifts me up
Art and fashion
32 looks (my 8 year old son Niko did 3) almost if not entirely secondhand
& tons of vintage mixed in because its what I'm most passionate about clothing wise because its more unique and better quality than most of my modern pieces
anyway
