Great video! Took me over three months to get my Track bRed Premium. As bad as I wanted manual transmission (my 2020 86 was manual) I settled for the automatic transmission and three months in I have no regrets. Ive actually come to appreciate the automatic. Sport mode with paddle shifters on the wheel has proven to be quite fun but then again, the 86 is all about fun. In the two years I had my 2020 model I never grew bored with it.
I have a premium and love it. I had no choice that’s all they had and the dealer said they were not getting anymore premiums and he was right. I have the halo white.
my base 2023 gr86 is scheduled to arrive at the end of this month. The dealer I am buying from said it would take 2-4 months to get a base model with a manual or it would take over a year to get the premium with a manual. Not even a question, I am not waiting a year for this car.
The only thing that I think the premium really has over the base are the headlights. Everything else gets replaced or there’s a better version. The base model has everything it needs and will be a lot of fun.
That’s good to know. I reserved a premium halo white (6-speed) in Lancaster, pa at the beginning of April. The dealer said I would t hear anything until September. I don’t expect to hear anything til October. I got a call in May that there was a 6 speed base silver that someone decided not to take. I told them I’ll wait for the premium. Ugh. I’ve seen another 4 Gr86 s come through the dealership. But, they were all automatic.
I got the base. Wish it was the premium. Not because thr features, but I paid well over msrp. So might as well gotten the premium lol but there was NONE in socal
@@boostd4058 thank you for your service man!!! I had to put a 1k deposit to hold it for 24hr 2 weeks before it arrived lol My old p.o.s car wouldn't hang in there for me to order one. Like you said this is my first sports car, rwd, and manual. So the base is honestly perfect for me! I also taught myself how to drive it when I test drove it and the drive home hahaha
If I was to buy, for sure the premium. Imho, the extras that come with the premium is worth it.
I agree. But like I said, for people that just want one- the base is just fine. Esp if they just want to track it

I was actually lucky to come across one base GR 86 track red near me and it’s rare to see these cars around here
Thank you for the informative & helpful video! Currently debating on the base or premuim lol

I am in Columbus and am trying to get a Premium at MSRP!

Sry man. I’m lucky in Ohio. I’m sure it’s very hard to find anything in socal. I was station in San Diego 2002-2006.

I have base 😔
Nothing wrong with that. A lot of people don’t have one at all… 👍
The base is just fine. Realistically, you are only missing out on the headlights. Everything else is subjective and replaceable.
@@donewhiskey thanks guys ❤️
Hay man i have 2005 corolla le so you win 😁
The base is actually lighter and will be quicker than the premium! Also you can use that 2600 to upgrade to some sweet wheels.
Does Premium have more power?
Premium vs base the power will remain the same
No
Im thinking of premium vs elantra n vs veloster N. Can u guys help me please? Appreciate. CALI weather*
I wouldn’t buy a Hyundai but that’s just me 🤷♂️
