- Hello and welcome back! This is an Acrylic Pouring tutorial using the base ideas of puddle pouring with thin paint consistency, I’m using a split color base coat, flip cup, and adding a cloud over technique I’ve been working on. Using a cloud mix to come over back on top of a painting has been so joyful for me, it’s so fun! ✨Recipes all below✨

Basecoat (blue and oyster)
* 3 parts floetrol
* 2 parts artist loft flow white
* 1 part GAC 800
* 1/2 part liquatex pm (or less)
* 1/2 part satin enamel
* What half part oyster chalk paint/ blue
* Water to thin!
Paint mixture:
* 1 part paint
* 1/2 part floetrol
* Squirt of liquatex pm
* Water to thin, similar consistency to basec
Pink Cloud mix used over top colors (MelyD inspired)
* 1 part floetrol
* 1 part satin house paint
* Blob of artist loft soft pink paint
* Water to thin (same as other paints)

Fluid art is my favorite because it washes away the stress and emotions of the day better than any painting or drawing I could do!! I took up pouring when we shut down last year. It literally was a sanity saver. We have kids with kids & what you parents and your children are going through is just not easy. We are all hoping for better days ahead
Amen to that Carol! Being stuck home with no socializing or traveling or anything is very hard with small children! Art is so good for the soul, I think it saves us all some days. Even my little toddlers get down on the floor and get messy with paint! I think the spring will be better.✨🙏

It is my all-time Sara Taylor favorite! You have found the perfect balance between chemistry and artistry. I actually laughed out loud when you flipped the cups and immediately went right for one of the corners. No hesitation, on such a large canvas! It was glorious! As always, I’ve been on this journey with you. I have my first public exhibition on February 4th. I hope you don’t mind, but I will be using colors very similar, techniques well learned from you, and your spirit to guide me as I attempt to create a center piece that is, hopefully, just like this one. This is an absolutely magnificent pour. Your composition is fantastic and you definitely are an artist. At first I thought it might be too dark but you knew exactly where to add things to lighten and to give interest to this painting. Well done and I am sure the new owner will be so pleased with this.

Hi Sherry! One of the beauties about thin paint is that it’s not very heavy, there’s not a huge layer on the canvas so it doesn’t really sag. I did make sure to spray the back with water and use a blow dryer to get it nice and tight.👍

Oh my Gosh Sara; I am gazing at this painting...magic within a few moments coming from a heart, a mind, a talent and ten fingers. I like this movement of shapes, colors, burst of cells, filets of gold, shades within shades floating like clouds. A poem without words !
