Spray the back of your blank canvas with rubbing alcohol before you start painting and it will tighten your canvas on the frame very quickly as it dries fast. This will tighten it like a drum and you will have no dips in the center.
I'm sure you know, might help others? To help stop a saggy canvas, I learned to spray the back of the canvas with distilled water the night before. When it drys it tightens up the canvas. LOVE THIS !
The very best I've seen in one year of binge watching acrylic pours. Added to my 'Painting Tutorials '. I will watch over n over to learn this technique. THANK YOU.
My son had to go to Alaska for work for a few weeks and his wife went to and they saw the Northern Lights and I've been trying to figure out how to do a painting for them. Ima 6 month newbie, I love this thank you
WOW!! You titled this one CORRECT..."Northern Lights"....I liked the little fury friend on the lense as I watched...as I was seeing the Northern Lights right away, kind of spiritual!! VERY, VERY NICE!! Congratulations!!
I think its beautiful and I agree it looks a little like the x-ray but more so I see how she was inspired to name it northern lights. The curves and lifting of colors. The dark draping threw almost cutting threw light the night sky. I love the colors chosen maybe not the 'perfect' northern lights match but definitely closer than a dental x-ray I think. Why match something painted by millions? I love that she created her own version and maybe named it after what inspired her. I think its stunning and beautifully done. Thank u. I've tried a few similar works myself and none turned out quite this interesting. 🌌👍✔
I love your channel ... thank you for NOT playing awful music and just talking uS through it all ! Amazing work!My " swipes" are wavy.... I need to practice
I know it's been two years ago maybe even more I'm not too sure but that is timeless it is beautiful I'm going to try to reproduce that yours is perfect as it is and I do like it thank you for taking the time to share this and to teach us how to make beautiful works of art
Love this one. Love sparkler. Love how the white and gold made a greenish turquoise color with the navy. And I love the navy areas in the middle. Seriously beautiful. ❤️❤️❤️
First, I love that your so excited.. you are adorbs! Second.. very beautiful and easy method. I have been doing epoxy/Resin poors...and I think because of the fumes, I will switch to straight acrylic. The movement seem more in control and the outcome is fairly similiar with out the toxic fumes. ( I do wear mask and gloves and will continue for all forms of art work). Thanks, Love!
Since redecorating my house I have noticed how popular abstract has become and some of the techniques are astonishing! Like this one! It so interesting how swiping creates that lacey look! Its very beautiful!
Love love love that the gold, navy, and white gave you those hints of turquoise! The lacey effect from the Floetrol is fabulous. A very stunning piece!
I love this one. The colors are stunning. 💙 I did my first swipe tonight . I just acted like I knew exactly what I was doing. Lol. I used color shift metallic paints and added dragon dust to Payne’s grey. I’ll see what it looks like tomorrow after drying more. It’s sheeny shiney shimmery. Lol. 💜💙💜💙
I have to tell you... I am SO THANKFUL that you did decide to stay on camera with the navy base for your canvas. I’ve been looking ALL OVER the internet and TH-cam to find someone who could demonstrate this for me because I’m new to this, and have a specific idea in mind regarding my own idea (new way) to do I guess what people are calling paint pouring (is that what it is that you’re doing?). Anyway, I did notice many different styles, but nothing applies to what I want to do, but I had zero idea on how to properly apply the base coat. THANK YOU!!! I also subscribed to your channel as what you do is amazing! I’d love to try a painting like yours. You are very talented! God Bless you! I can’t wait to see what you come up with next! I love the large canvases. Don’t be afraid. You got this! 👍🏼😇 Love & Blessings, Sharon 🙏🏻💜
Thanks for reinforcing my courage to start on large canvases. This is a masterpiece and I hope that I can try on a smaller scale, then after which embark on a larger canvas. Thanks again
I'm very glad to see you do everything from the beginning to the end. I'm new to pouring, need to get my techniques perfected. Seeing you do it reinforces the correct process. I think your work is breathtaking, I learn something different each time i see one of your pours.
I've seen this before but wanted to see it before I tried it. Almost all the paints mixed and ready to go on a smaller canvas as practice. Thanks so much for this wonderful tutorial!
Skyscrapers reflected in water.so beautiful.I love the colour choice you made.also, love the joy in your voice at the excitement of a painting you are happy with. Great job woohoo
"From whoa to go". Love it!! It's not about watching you spread paint, it's about listening to your wonderful life. You nailed this one! The thought that you put into your composition is inspiring. It probably (maybe, maybe not) was a recording thing, but you had a "real" ghost helping you along. No, not fluff!! A ghost. LOL I love it. But when you said you were done, I looked to see how much time there still was in the video, and I knew you weren't going to leave it alone. LOL Enjoy your time with your daughter.
Hair or ORB?? Someone is painting with you and enjoying the view!! This is STUNNING. I can’t wait to try my own version & thanks for the encouragement and gentle nudge to tackle my larger canvases! It’s so silly, but I haven’t worked up the courage yet!! Seems like SO many of us are always worried about wasting paint and “messing up” a new fresh canvas. What a relief to know I’m not alone in this! 💕 thank you for sharing - your art, your education, and your bubbly self with all of us!
I have watched literally hundreds of paint pours and I swear this is my ultimate favourite one, I actually feel your excitement when it comes together at the end lol 😊 I just love it!! 😍 .... Thank you so much for sharing ❤x
I just got done mixing my colors and I think I'm good to go in a day or two. Is my base coat suppose to be a little thinner? That's what I was thinking.. thank you so very much. I would not know what the heck I was doing without all of you wonderful artist that are so very thoughtful and kind to help people like me who love art but really don't know what I'm doing. I've learned so so much in the past 6 months. Thank You
I love your videos. I can't imagine anyone making rude comments to you. Ignore them. In my opinion it's just jealousy. And God bless you for taking such good care of your fur babies! Thank you for everything that you share!
Zombieland 2... I love you and your crazy movies. Very Halloween appropriate. Julie I am so thrilled with this painting. You deserve such success. Please show us when it is on your wall as I'm sure it will be perfect. Once again thank you for your generosity in sharing the process so we can try to create something as lovely.
You are always taking your work to new highs. This is a beauty. You inspired me to make my own navy too. It's so dark, but with the gold, magenta and purple it looks pretty cool. Thanks for inspiring us!
This has to be one of my favourites that you have done. Love how the colours just brought a little of the greenish blue from the navy. I might need your navy recipe now. Love it. ❤️
Gorgeous, I’ve seen so many, many northern lights in Greenland and none had these colors. The crazy part is that though it’s unreal colors the phenomenon and the mysterious feel of them are shining through perfectly.
That is so neat. I'm heading to Lapland for Christmas and hope to see the Northern Lights while I'm there - this is inspiration for a painting to remember it by!

Oh Julie! This is wonderful, I luv, luv it, I have to try this again, I have before but just didn't turn out well and I so think your genuine enthusiasm is so refreshingly beautiful. Thank you for sharing this.
I just LOVE dark, dark shiny color with gold shimmer! The only thing I suggest is to have the final video of the painting hanging on a wall with a couple of lights shining down on it. Because the way it is in the end, there's still the distraction of dirty paper towels, overspray, etc... You could create a "showcase wall" that is done in, say, a textured wallpaper in a sand color. And when it's hung, we could see not only the clean edges, but also how certain wallpaper can pull out the golds, for example, in the portrait as well as the shimmer. I think then we could see it's true beauty!
Absolutely beautiful, love the colours. You could also do this giving the strokes a slight curve tip and turn them into boats on the horizon using light paint strokes, sharp and abstract to define an image of boats out there!
You know, you might consider either buying or making a lazy Susan it would make flipping your painting around so much easier. Amazing job regardless! 💙💚💙💚🧡
Beautiful. Looks like a city scape reflected in the water.
Spray the back of your blank canvas with rubbing alcohol before you start painting and it will tighten your canvas on the frame very quickly as it dries fast. This will tighten it like a drum and you will have no dips in the center.
What a great idea. Thanks!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Gorgeous! I love seeing the ghost orb floating around as you paint. I can really feel the energy in this one.
Yes ... there is just enough of a greenish color from the gold and blue to be perfect Northern Lights! Stunning!!!
Northern Lights...what a beautiful idea. Do the same thing only on curves, love that!
The very best I've seen in one year of binge watching acrylic pours. Added to my 'Painting Tutorials '. I will watch over n over to learn this technique. THANK YOU.

There was something very soothing about the paint being spread. Very luxurious.
You have so mastered this technique! No one can say you get better with each one, because each one is perfect! Perfectly gorgeous!

Love love love the colors and composition. Thank you for sharing
It's amazing how two swipes, next to each other and with the same paints, can produce such different patterns.
One of the most beautiful paintings I've seen with this technique, gorgeous!

Absolutely a stunner. Glad you kept the lacing instead of choosing more cells.
I love this project so much. It would March my deco so much. Great work and thank for sharing it
The Navy and the mix of silver white and gold made a beautifully natural turquoise-y green. I was hoping that would happen!

I like that dark blue background. Such a nice change from black. I love this. It looks like the Northern Lights reflected off of a lake.
