- Transformers Prime Predacons seem to be superior in every way, except I don't think that is really the case! Maybe it takes a different strategy and smaller bots to take down these dragons...

Fun fact: the weapons that do the best against heavy armor are hammers and maces, because the blunt force can easier dent the armor or “bruise” the insides. Therefore I think magnus, bulkhead and breakdown have the best shot at him in bot mode
We talkin only tfp? Cuz if not FOC grimlock, he hits like a train in bot mode, and like a rocket in Dino mode.
A chompazoid like underbite could probably take on a predicon depending on how much a chompazoid ate.
They can definitely do the dmg necessary but they can’t out speed them and thus would be at a disadvantage (it’s a 40% in breakdown bulkheads etc favor not impossible but by no means easy)
It’s kinda like a bear vs a tiger in a way ones all power and toughness but the other is power speed and toughness
Best match up is ultra magnus optumis megaton and those like em strategic powerful swift but also capable of tanking a good hit

your opponent's strength is his weakness. most snipers can't win a fistfight. most powerlifters cant win a race. no one can is stronger than predaking. but that also means predaking never had to learn how to properly fight.

I would like to mention that if I remember correctly, Soundwave was pretty much the second strongest 'con in the pits. Couple that with his groundbridges providing more agility.
He did look a lot bulkier in the past though

Not exactly. Raptors mainly sustained themselves on smaller bite sized prey and their foot slaws are more for holding down/ holding onto the prey then killing it. Their claws have a point, but no cutting or serrated edge.

Personally I do believe that Prime megatron (at the time of the pits of kaon or early cybertron war) before being worn down by the war, would have had a very good chance at 1v1. Considering he took down that massive ass beast in that flashback. His weapon of choice then seemingly was a shield as well as his sword. And since this megatron would be skilled af I don’t think any amount of brute strength (as seen) could defeat him in those times. It’s only because through the war he fought less and less as he took on more leading roles. As opposed to when he was probably fighting hundreds of battles a day in the arena and soaking those xp points lmao. If anything he was probably hiding embarrassment “man I used to take on Titans in the pit daily, the hell has happened to me” That’s probably also why he keeps referring to the time in the pits whenever he’s getting serious in a fight, it’s like an old man remembering his glory days

For the fight against megatron I would say Megs would have a better chance then you gave him credit for since the fight took place in a confined space.
If the fight took place in something like a gladiatoral arena he would stand a better chance by constantly transforming and shooting from a distance while closing in only when needed. That was likely why he was able to win against those large creatures in flashbacks. As for agility he was seen often seen flipping and jumping in his fights with Optimus, so if say he'd be able dodge the counter fire and clawstrikes
As for soundwave I agree that he would be very fragile in a 1 on 1 but I feel his agility would allow him stay out of the way particularly if he and laserbeak worked in sync they could confuse him and have him struggle to focus on one ( especially since in triage his shot was able to down the jack hammer). It is also important to consider that he can create groundbrigdes at will so he could just continuously transport himself or Prediking to an area that would benefit him in the fight
So effectively: Predacons are less durable, but can fight without as many restrictions in Beast Mode, and far more difficult to harm, but lack access to many of their most damaging skills in Robot Mode.
Predaking is simply the Vegeta of transformers prime.

I think it's worth mentioning that Airachnid also has a lot of experience hunting "endangered species" throughout the galaxy. It's possible that plenty of her victims were extremely dangerous organisms, and that she has experience taking a fight for survival seriously when necessary.
I also wonder how much more dangerous she would be in a fight against a Predacon if we factored in her Terrorcon energon-draining ability, as well as her ability to telepathically command all insecticons whenever she is conscious (and the fact that they seem to serve her of their own accord to a degree as well).
You forget one detail... Star saber. Even predacon can't handle this deadly relic

Realistically, I think Beast Hunters Optimus and FOC Grimlock are the 2 characters in the Aligned Continuity with the best chance of defeating Predaking, obviously aside from Omega Supreme and the other giants.
Base TFP Optimus is just as physically built as Ultra Magnus, but the Beast Hunter upgrade ups his speed. With his hands alone, Optimus was able to hold Predaking's jaws away from his head. In robot form, Optimus laid down a pretty devastating onslaught of punches and eventually gained the upper ground by head-butting the beast, proving that Optimus Prime's physical build and intelligence combined is more than a match for Predaking.
FOC Grimlock is even larger than base TFP Optimus, and when comparing base TFP Optimus to TFP Megatron and Predaking, Grimlock easily towers over his opponent. For one, Grimlock is very heavily armoured with a flaming sword and the ability to activate a Primal Rage, a level of anger so great that it overrides Grimlock's mind in beast mode. His flames are also hot enough to match Megatron, so a Primal Raged Grimlock is easily able to down Predaking.

The shots predaking emits from his blasters in bot mode are derived from the same plasma flame which he breaths in beast mode just in a more potent and compact blast rather than a wide spread beam of fire
I guess, this fight isn't about 1vs1, since it's same to fight a bear. I mean, Predaking just too strong, to get him in single fight. It is possible, that Optimus and Megatron would win if they are armed with Star/Dark Star Sabers. Also, let's just imagine, that Optimus/Dreadwing/Ultramagnus would use unstable synth energon(Megatron excluded, since he may turn into a zombie). I mean if Ratchet with all his weakness after injection can easily beat down most of Desepticons, then what will these 3 mentioned above will?
I think FOC Grimlock would beat Predaking in a single fight, plus both are in the aligned continuity. FOC Grimlock was properly trained and led his team meanwhile Predaking wasn’t, being able to bash his opponents however he wanted due to his strength, and considering FOC Grimlock is also around the same strength, size, and power as Predaking… let’s just say it’s lights out for a certain Predacon.
Not mention he sent a predacon running when he was in primal rage and took his whole team stop or calm Grimlock down
The Star Saber would mess up literally anyone who's not Primus or Unicron. Predaking might be able to take a few hits, but he's up against weapons that let the wielders cut mountains in half as easily as breathing.
I would love to see Predaking against FOC or G1 Grimlock, but a truly challenging fight would be Predaking against TM2 Dinobot with his spark healed. TM2 Dinobot not only has the speed advantage, and blades sharper than any in Transformers Prime, but that spark of his means that he could keep in the fight almost forever.

If we go with BW Megs in his BW scale, would be way smaller with less fire power. His only advantages would be stradegy, fighting skills and battle sense. Same goes to all his 3 bodies he had trough the show. He might now be able to win on his own against Predaking, but if he utilises everything he has, including all predacon troops and arsenal, he would win.
Step one: NEVER fight a predacon up close.
Step two: use powerful ranged weapons not based on energy. I highly recommend railguns
What about regular metallic projectiles like a anti armour round. Not energy based and can likely damage a predacon seriously

Human made railguns, if sufficiently advanced could give predacons a real reason to stay away.

This is great really detailed. But about Soundwave I don't think he is weak. He almost killed Megatron in the Pits after all.
Soundwave is the only transformer in the series, I believe, to have never lost a duel. He got defeated by being shadowzoned, not by losing a duel. He defeated Airachnid multiple times, the wreckers (to be fair, that had more to do with his ground bridge tricks and can't be considered a duel), Wheeljack, and even Optimus (with the jet pack). He got shot down in Minus One by chance.

Something to note is that predaking survived a mine full of energon exploding mostly unscathed while in beast mode. I doubt any one bot has the ability to take him down.

It's a risky move but what if a seeker with missals like Starscream's waited for Predaking to try to shoot fire at them in his beast mode and shoot a missile into his mouth while it was open?
It might work but it needs a pretty brave seeker to do that and starscream ain't it cheif

This is awesome, really works that they have advantages gained and lost from their chosen modes in a fight.
Like an option for defense or offense modes in battle unlike the regular cybertronians who use vehicle modes more to travel or evade attacks.

If megatron actually got that dark star saber, he would've kicked predaking's ass right there in that corridor
Mild take: A briefed squad of MECH Commandos could've probably offed a Predacon. Given MECH's technological and militaristic tenacity, plus the fact that they seemed to custom-tailor their weapons and equipment for specific hostiles (or at the very least have multifunctional weapons such as that fancy autorifle/stungun hybrid), I'd wager that any moderately informed squad of them could likely have bagged one or two, depending on who's turf they'd have been hashing it out on. Besides, the Predacons would've in all likelihood grossly underestimated them for being smaller. Predaking, however, would have likely required much more extensive firepower. Probably a good bit of air support, like with those stun-beam helicopters, since you mentioned typical stun strikes only seem to disturb him. Oh, and you can totally bet they'd have butchered any fallen Predacons to further their own weaponry- and given how quickly they broke the code to transformation, it would not have been unrealistic to say they probably would've made some hybrid Damocles-Predacon artillery platform.
Of course, Silas in all his glowing brain genius offed what appeared to be the entirety of MECH as far as TFP is concerned so we'll never know, and you know what? I'm alright with that. Pipedream fantasies are my favorite pastime.

This video has made me want an extremely violent Transformers show like the Michael Bay films without the 'enemy scrotum'. Weapons are designed to kill. Basically, a Transformers version of Saving Private Ryan.

Not sure if Synth-en Ratchet would work though he'd just be faster and hit harder but his durability stays the same, and when megatron can counter him I think the more ruthless fighting Predacons would do the same.

so what I am hearing is, instead of lasers they should be using conventional anti-tank munitions; like 30mm autocannon rounds, High Explosive tank slugs and Anti-Tank missiles to eliminate the Predacons quickly, I mean the Autobots have a contact with the US Gov so supplying them shouldn't really be a problem
Airachnid is definitely gonna lose if Soundwave is around just like last time that they both fought and plus i just want to see Soundwave rip off Airachnid limbs hearing her scream in pain while Soundwave just gives the audience the chills seeing him being silent enjoying ripping off Airachnid limbs just like Jazz when he was split in 2
The only one sadistic enough to maim people without being in a rage would be Airachnid herself - so don't expect your fantasy of seeing the arguably most evil character of the show be slowly killed like that come true.
If we are to defeat the Predacons, we must become Transformers: Prime: Beast Hunters.
Season 1 and maybe season 2 Starscream would be good at fighting against predaking but season 3 Starscream is too anxious and paranoid

Well according to Shockwave the predacons were thought to not have reached the transformation stage so they were always a beast
Auto-Cons and DeceptiBots have magic and strength and bravery. If they existed in the Transformers series, then a fight between Auto-Cons and predacons would be cool!
This is a very in depth video and I like that you go over the details of the pro's and con's of both beast form and bot form. However there is one point that I don't entirely agree with, is that beast mode is any more vulnerable than bot form. Hear me out. So let's say that every cybertronian has multiple layers of armor plating, with most having only two layers. For a predacon It is more than likely that they would have three to four, so when they transform into beast mode the majority of the armor plating is thinned out and extended, however the internals would still be closely protected by the final layer. This would still make large empty spaces where the out layer could be easily pierced, however these large empty spaces would still provide protection by combining the distance needed to reach the internals and the still present inner layer of armor. This is akin to the spaced armor present on tanks or armored compartments of a warship. This leads me to believe that a predacon's beast mode would be just as if not more difficult to land a lethal blow than bot form.
Random thought:
Does that mean that the stone griffin on griffin rock is really a dead predacon clone from the war that shockwave made and left on earth?

I love the concept of these predacons! If this series had another season instead of moving into RID, I bet (or at least hope) that Abominus would be introduced as Predaking and his race try to finish what the decepticons refused to finish. This would only be possible if the events of transformers RID never happened…

You forgot about insecticons, and I think you underestimate Soundwave he kicked Arachnid’s butt with very little effort. Even without ground/space bridges he might have the strength/agility to do it.
