  • In this video I compare a screen printed T shirt and a T shirt pressed with a Supacolor Transfer. I show wash results, how heavy supacolor transfers are on a t shirt and print clarity.

    The screen printed one is obviously the better quality print in this video, with that said Supacolor has its place for anyone that don't have equipment or that wants to learn the business. Screen Printing will always give the best results hands down!

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      you missed a big part of your own comment. "screen printing will always give the best results (when done correctly)" just cause somebody has a 4 color carousel doesnt mean they know how to print 4 colors. the screen printing technique and knowledge is the biggest factor in your statement. i see way more cracked screen prints from poor curing then i do supacolor prints.

      supa for multi color designs and plastisol transfers for single, double, triple spot color designs. screen print isnt really needed in my work flow any more. i have the space to knock out bigger orders now so i really dont need to outsource screen print work any more.

    The difference is that anything screen printed is actually art. Nothing about heat on transfers is any form of art and nothing done by the process is worth anything. There are screen prints worth millions. Also screen-printed t-shirts hold value. Like old concert t-shirts. Most of them were screen printed. Concert shirts from the 80s can go for thousands. They are considered art works to some extent. The value grows.

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      very good points but the transfer is also screen printed hahahaaa. its just cured differently haha but the print method is exactly the same hahahaa but concert shirts that are worth thousands are valued more for the blank its printed on. vintage t shirts are sought after because of the t shirt. Reason why single stitch is listed on all vintage shirts. the print, the band, the tour... dates the shirt but the blank t shirt its printed on is what drives the price.

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      also, no credit to the actual artist that creates the artwork to be printed? hahaa only the screen printer is making art but not the artist who designed it?

    • @JohnEastmanExAttyAtLaw
      @JohnEastmanExAttyAtLaw 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yes, I know. the bad thing about screen printing is that you are limited on colors and it is not very productive. people don't really buy t-shirts for art. most of the concert t's got trashed. so not many left. i am more so speaking of prints on canvas. @@BigBrandoh

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      the way this artwork was set up, they couldnt do it because the adhesive lays flat and even. theres no gradient in the adhesive. but maybe if you set your artwork up with a clean halftone they can accomplish it. but as a gradient/glow with no backing its hard to print.

  • @arnoldfukumoto7551
    @arnoldfukumoto7551 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Brandoh, I didn't see any of your previous videos talking specifically about sheen and touch differences between different transfer companies and the differences in their transfer products.. I would want the applied transfer to have little or no sheen so it wouldn't visually separate itself from the t shirt fabric. I think this is pretty important. Also, can you speak to the differences in touch in terms of smoothness, texture, and hand feel as opposed to the feel of the t shirt fabric itself. I think the differences between transfer companies may seem subtle but are not just relevant to t shirt buyers also should be even more important to t shirt designers.

      not better but more cost effective. invest in $15k+ printer + consumables. or order supa color transfers? for one off multi color jobs DTG is a life saver. but anything over 20. transfers all day.
      supa turn around is 1-2 days. dtg printer in my shop, convenient. still have to pretreat, print, cure. supa transfers, place and press

      A DTG print cost like .40 to print Full Color.
