Doing my own personal pieces atm and friends customs but you helped me so much to pursue it, its challenging but rewarding. Hopefully I can have a full brand lineup out soon. yeah keep more money in your pocket doin it yourself. those POD companies take a big chunk of your profit. example. a shirt that costs $3 to make, they charge $12 so you gotta charge $24 just to profit $12. but imagine if you did it your self for $3 and charged $20? now you profit $17 and your customer gets a cheaper retail price. everybody wins

    I’ve been ordering with them. And usually it is great stuff. I always use goof proof and again amazing. Recently I received a goof proof order and the letters would not stick. I used the same process for pressing as all my other designs, but this time the letters wouldn’t stick. I followed the instructions on the sheet they send with the transfer and still, the letters would not stick. Transfer express engaged me in conversation for about five hours, basically accusing me of not pressing it correctly and their resolution was for me to send in the transfer for them to test! If that was the resolve they could have saved me time and just said so. They shipped apparel to me with no plastic protecting the apparel and there was a white stain on one of the shirts. The apparel looked faded and I wouldn’t dare sale it to my customers. TE is a no, their customer service is an F! They sound nice, but they treated me poorly. Oh, plus in order to send back the apparel, I have to pay the shipping and a restocking fee.

    Just got my Signature pro yesturday and I am going to go with transfer express transfers. When pressing their transfers do you go with the temp they suggest or do you raise/lower the temp? I believe their suggestion is based on the hottronix line of presses. BTW Brandoh, you the man out here in these streets, preciate you Bro!!!!!!

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i start at their recommended settings and then make adjustments as needed. i do this with all my transfers i use. just because somebody using the same press doesnt mean the settings will be the same. all presses are calibrated different, pressure is different, garments are different. so i test out every transfer first before placing an order. make sure i can lay it down and then i wash it to make sure its down and then write those settings down and then place my order

    So are these better than f&m because their plasticol cracks.
    Which of the 2 you like better and what's the life of washing

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      cracking happens when too much heat is applied for too long. its like over cooking something it turns brittle. like if you leaves cookies in the oven for too long, they get hard and crumble. same goes for ink. when its cured correctly you'll have no issues. if its cured too hot, it'll turn brittle and crack. if its cured too cool or not enough pressure, it'll peel up.
      So its not the transfers thats bad it was an incorrect application. that can be fixed easy with minor tweaks to the settings.
      FM and Transfer Express can wash over 50+ times as long as its applied correctly.

    How much do you sell per shirt for? I’m having trouble deciding how much to charge. I’ve heard $24.99 is the ideal price. I use Bella Canvas 3001 for $5.50, transfer will be around $4-$5, shipping $4-$5. That’s about $15 per shirt to make. Is $10 profit normal? I’m new to all this. sounds like too much heat. back off the heat a little. cracking happens when too much heat is applied and it turns the ink brittle.

    yo im about to order some screen printed plastisol goof-proof transfers to press on alstyle 1701 shirts and im going to order a bunch to save cost but if i select for the print transfers to be for specifically for 100% cotton fabric will i not be able to use them on hoodies that are like a 80/20 cotton/poly blend or maybe even 100% poly fabrics? will i have to do separate orders of tranfers for each fabric types?

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      hoodies yes. but 100% polyester, not sure. i never press on those so im not sure. i would hit them up and ask. but when i order transfers thats what i do, use them on 100% cotton t shirts and on hoodies.

    Love your videos man, so helpful. Have you used transfer express full colour prints? I have 2 versions of a design, one white with black outline and the other reversed but noticed when I switched to pressing my black supecolor onto black hoodies they went extremely shiney and the black looks like a dark silver instead and has alot of adhesive bordering to the point it ruined the design. Is that just because im trying black on black or did I maybe somehow overheat the design? Any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙏

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      im not 100% sure. best way to find out is, find out what kind of material the shorts are made out of. and then check with the transfer company to see if they make an ink formula for that type of material.

    Thanks for always dropping knowledge! I have a question. I've been doing small order custom HTV shirts, and sometimes they want multi color designs/graphics. Supacolor has 20 minimum. What's the next best thing where I don't need minimums for multicolor designs?

    • @BigBrandoh
      @BigBrandoh  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      multi color low quanity is expensive as shit. best bet find a shop that does dtg but the cost will be $20+ on your end so not much room for profit.

      how much is your time worth? how long does it take you to press the shirt? thats the easy break down. whats your time worth? whats your hourly rate? how long it takes you to press? how many can you do in an hour? compare that to your hourly rate! thats your labor cost.
