    You totally just made my day Gerry. I just got home from my first adventure. I absolutely love it, there is such a huge difference in the way it handles compared toy Honcho.
    Line choice is definitely important. I also found that running it on 3S made it absolutely come alive and do more than it could on 2S.
    I'm going to end up installing the optional gears to put the overdrive up to 12 %. I also think one of the biggest short comings is how light it is. I think with a bit of wheel weight and cutting the stock foams will solve the issue. I absolutely love the truck, I got mine in the fire color.

      Glad you like it John, I have found it a great little rig!! Not to shamelessly plug my next video but I run it on the rocks with a modified truck and the result is impressive!!😁😁

    So, I know I am late to this party but I bought one around October for myself to take on hikes. My wife came with me and kept begging for the controller so I bought her a Knightrunner. Great for hiking trails!

    Excellent review, sir. I have a slightly modded scx10 ii honcho and a gen7 sport. Both great trucks, but I've really been eyeballing this one for a while. I'm not looking for a serious crawler, just a scale trail rig. And I really like the looks of this one. Thanks for the update.

      @@gerrysoldguyreview I've also been checking out the redcat gen 8 v2. Which would you consider a better "bang for your buck" rig? I like the looks of both, and they both seem like well thought out rigs with plenty of aftermarket support.

      @@gerrysoldguyreview ended up with the fire red trailrunner. Pretty sweet rig. Way different driving experience than my 10.2 or gen7. Small tires, low body, but it looks great out on the trail. Definitely not an extremely capable rock crawler, but it holds it own. Thanks 👍

  • @Jbzy3000

    Bought the knight runner but this went on sale thinking about it now. Do you think I could throw a 3300-3500 kv motor into it and it become a park/field basher. It looks great runs decently as a crawler but is super slow to bash in the park. Thinking about 1.9 with stretched 1.55 tires. Or Amy I barking up the wrong tree? 😊

    • @gerrysoldguyreview
      @gerrysoldguyreview  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are only really limited by your imagination and bank account!!🤣🤣🤣 it might work if you replace the plastic gears not sure they would hold up to much bashing.

    Hey Gerry, how ya doing buddy?? Great review video !!! I have a question for you, on my fiat gladiator when I put the body on its like I fight to get it down in place. The rock rails are a pain to get the edge of the body in. Is there anything I can change so I don't have to fight it??

    • @gerrysoldguyreview
      @gerrysoldguyreview  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks ron!! Sorry mine fights me too, but I usually start at the back and work forward to get it on, finally pulling the front to the sides to get it on!!🤔🤔🤔 pain

    Great follow up on the Trailrunner. I love the idea of the tiny tires and the complexities of driving them, but I'm a scale guy. I have wondered about the IFS on this rig and how it was relative to the rest of the clearance of the undercarriage, so thanks for that.
    Gerry, and the rest of the crew here, I have a song I thought you might want to listen to this Memorial Day. It was written by Steve Hollis, a friend of mine and the father of my daughter’s boyfriend. He is the Music Minister of our church and has a fantastic voice. Steve wrote it for a family member lost in Vietnam after visiting The Wall in Washington D.C.

      Now don't get me wrong steve, it's very scale just more of like a ifs truck with a lift already installed! Iam planning on doing some inner fenders but I think they may rub, wait till the driving video I think you may be surprised I was!!🤣🤣

      @@SFDFLATH12 this truck is simply amazing. 1.9s will fit on it but they need to be a 3 piece of have flush mount screws for the drive side beadlock ring or they catch on the A arms. Some people say the steering has a lot of sloppiness and isn't accurate, I don't find that to be the case but then again I've only been involved in the hobby since January and am coming from OG SCX10 Honcho. What I do know for certain is out of the box it's a blast but with some minimal effort and very few tweaks this will be an incredible all around truck.
