    What do your poops say about you? This may sound like a joke, but you can actually learn a lot about your health from your daily doo.
    In this video, I’ll give you the full scoop… on what is and isn’t a good poop.
    Has your doctor ever asked you about your poop? Did your parents tell you what to look for? Didn't think so. But Mama Natural is going there.
    Hippocrates says that all disease begins in the gut. SO we wanna be sure that what’s coming out of the gut looks good.
    There are three main things to look for
    1 Frequency
    2 Form
    3 Color
    I’ll cover them all here.
    1. Frequency
    It's best to have at least one complete bowel movement a day. You should feel like your bowels have emptied rather than just partially eliminated.
    Some people go 2-3 times a day. This can be because of faster metabolisms, more robust good bacteria, or the quantity of food they eat.
    If you are eliminating more than 3 times a day, you are entering into the world of diarrhea which I will address next.
    Some people will say if you go every couple of days it's fine, but I disagree. This one of our body's greatest ways to eliminate toxins, acids and other stuff, so it's best to do daily.
    2. Form
    This is important, and it isn't talked about often.
    We want to be sure our poops are well formed. This ensures we've digested and assimilated the nutrients from our food, and are eliminating acids and toxins properly.
    Watch the video for a handy reference called the Bristol chart.
    Type 1: Separate hard lumps, like little balls (hard to pass)
    Type 2: Sausage-shaped, but lumpy
    Type 3: Like a sausage but with cracks on its surface
    Type 4: Like a sausage or snake, smooth and soft
    Type 5: Soft blobs with clear cut edges (passed easily)
    Type 6: Fluffy pieces with ragged edges, a mushy stool
    Type 7: Watery, no solid pieces. Entirely liquid
    Can you guess where you want to be on the chart?
    If you said #4, you’re right!

    5 years after posting this(and the companion video) and you’re still helping people, especially me!! I’m trying to talk with my kids about this so they grow up knowing what is or is not healthy. I’m 38 and I’m still trying to get away from severe type 1 and more than 1x a week. I really do not want my kids to suffer the way I have my entire life.

    Thank you for your video.
    Turns out I didn't tell my Dr. about my severe constipation, which I had for
    10 years.
    When I told my Dr. she saw I had abdominal distentenion.
    She immediately sent me for a scan.
    I went to the G.I.Dr. and was sent to the E.R.
    My intestine was twisted.
    I underwent bowel resection.
    Thank God for the Dr's .
    I hope the readers take care so this never happens.
    Thank God I didn't need a colostomy bag.

    My poo is inconsistent daily
    One minute it’s sausage
    Then it’s runny
    Then it’s mushy & sticky
    Then it’s in small pieces
    Light brown
    Dark brown
    Even darker brown
    Light almost yellow
    Broken cracked sausages
    It’s an adventure I’ll tell you that

    Wow this is good to know as im type 4 , and i was worried it was too smooth , but i geusse that means everything has digested well. plus hardly need any toilet paper when i wipe. sometimes mine is type 5 if ive had lots of alcohol the night before , and sometimes type 3 if ive had foods that are harder to digest . i hope this is normal

    i needed this i use to work out and poop every morning on the dot. then i found my self drinking a lot and well lets just say im like 5 and 6 . horrible . i will do Brat.and beets . and greens and tea and probably yogurt and maybe a supplement and see how it goes. i will do my shopping after work tomorrow. thanks for the video 😅

    What if you do line up with type 4, for the most part, but you have noticed that it's flatter. NOT COMPLETELY FLAT. There's still substance and depth to it....and nothing pencil thin. Just flatter to an extent. I have been on pantoprazole for heartburn and I've read this can change the form of your poop, perhaps. I do have a gastro MD appointment soon, but wondered if you have any thoughts. I hate thinking that a flattening is something horrible. I've heard it can be for some people, but I know irritable bowel syndrome can also do it. What are your thoughts? Thanks so much

    I've been sick for the past several weeks now since the year started... My poops used to range from 2,3,4, abd that was about a little over a month ago... and all of a sudden a little over a month has passed and my poops are all looking like 5, 6 and watery like number 7... But it's mainly 6...
    I need help!! I've been to the doctor four times already in the past few weeks, and have done a stool analysis test to see if it was parasites... but the test showed no White Blood Cells in my stool, so I guess that means no parasites...
    But something is not right... I've lost 20Ibs over the past several weeks being at 160Ibs, and now I'm down to 140Ibs/139Ibs...
    I have to sign up for Medi-Cal to because while I've been to a local hospital over the past few weeks I don't have a primary care doctor.

    When I was 15 I started having bad diarrhea and for 3 years it was very painful cramps etc. but never told anyone I'm 33 now and still have this issue now just not as much pain I'm used to it I guess I have between 5 and 7 and I have maybe 4 solid bowel movements a year just hard to talk about with doc or anyone

    After i add lots of yoghurt and kefir into my diet. my poop changed color to yellow. Used to be brownish
    Do you think I should eliminate yoghurt and kefir from my diet?
    But I think I feel quit good after my diet change, I sleep now better.

      Yogurt and kefir can only help balance healthy gut bacteria, so it may just be that your body is adjusting to the increase in healthy gut flora!

    Is it normal that my stool is lately too big to be flushed? Normaly I didn't had so big poops, they are a bit longer and slightly volumoser in diameter, shape is something like Nr.3 and colour is ok, I go once a day , but the size is unsettling.

    Usually since have irritable bowel syndrom I either get Diariaha or have little terds or floarting different shaped messy poop usually is light brown or tan or dark brown but live in the poverty level for food.

    For me it's normal to have type 1 or 2.
    When I have type 4 it's so fast that it feels like diarheea.
    I once had an accident pooping in my jeans.
    Luckily I was at home at the time. At that time I was ill. That time I pooped type 5 from the stool chart.

      Goodness 😞 high fiber, hydration and a magnesium supplement may help but if it’s that severe it sounds like you may need to see a doctor!

    I poop which is soft with little smell, normal color but i do pass gases and get sometimes bloated,
    I do alo feel sleepy often

      Sounds like a possible nutritional issue. Dairy can often cause gas, bloating, and fatigue!

    My poop is type 4 but flat...its been going on for a year...about 2 x a week i get a pain in the center of my stomach as if i need to pass gas but can't...not sure whats going on...i have had diverticulitis about twice a year

    I don’t know much about them my poops other they have very strong odor I have about 3 large logs a week I’ll guess type 2 because they’re hard to pass, thick and hard, that require me to flush multiple times to get them down, my toilets are all black so I can’t ever see them
