Anyway a megalodon is too heavy , so those tricks that orcas use on great whites will not work on Megalodon. Great whites are absolutely nothing compared to a fully grown Megalodon. Dolphins can kill sharks. They're faster and smarter. They ram their sides at 20-25 knots. They weigh 600-800 pounds. The sharks die. Orcas are dolphins that weigh 4000 pounds. Just as fast, just as smart. Fuggedaboutit.
Forgiven Sinner, there's almost no evidence of dolphins killing any large shark. There's evidence of dolphins having a built in fear response of sharks, and of large sharks basically biting entire mouthfulls out of a dolphin without the pack coming to save it. An orca vs a great white shark however, that's different. Whereas a large shark has a size advantage over a normal dolphin, an orca is three times as heavy, faster, more agile and arguably more intelligent as well. but how can humans leave them alone when they’re “taking over” every creature in the sea? lol welcome to this world bruh, nobody “should be more powerful” than humans....
Elie Saba: Orca's are bigger than Great Whites. By far. "Killer whales are the largest extant members of the dolphin family. Males typically range from 6 to 8 metres (20 to 26 ft) long and weigh in excess of 6 tonnes (5.9 long tons; 6.6 short tons)." From Wiki: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killer_whale#Appearance_and_morphology Great Whites rarely get to 6 metres. 16 feet (slightly less than 5 metres) is a big one. Also, Orca's are much heavier than Great Whites even at the same length. There has never been a Great White that weighed 6 tonnes, a weight an Orca reaches routinely. So it really is bigger in every way.
That lady describing the killing scene with that level of accuracy, I wouldn’t be surprised if that She was the one that killed the shark, and then blaming the nearby Orcas for it. 👀 👀
You're all dicks and idiots, Willy was raised in captivity so he would stand no chance against a Great white. Heck, I'm sure a group of hammer-heads could take him out though don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Free Willy fan.
Yeah orcas rely on their size advantage in most of their hunts (though usually against smaller marine mammals). They're three times the size of large adult GWS. Considering that sharks aren'y instinctive at all, this is not "brain and brawn wins over just brawn", but "brawn and brain (the orca, smart and strong) wins over just brain (the shark, also smart but lacking in raw power)".
There is no evidence the orcas involved here actually turned the sharks over to induce tonic immobility. Nobody actually saw them do it, they just found dead sharks with orca bite marks.
Just my own opinion, but it seems like these 2 are outcasts(due to aforementioned reasons) from a bigger pod, therefore they have occupied this bay, as there are no great dangers and access to food, in this case sharks, is fairly easy. Orcas are truly incredible and intelligent animals, compared to sharks they are ruthless killers. Sharks just literally kill their pray within seconds and minutes- couple bites and thats it, no time to feel fear even. Orcas can torture their prey for hours. Watch their hunting videos, no joke..
It's not necessarily torture, they are mostly just very smart hunters. A great white will just rush in and bite without second thought, whereas the Orca will minimise the risk for himself since he is smaller and thus physically more vulnerable. They often want to wear down the pray to get an easier kill. Then there's also the fact that they have to share the food within their group, meaning that they can't just eat as fast as possible, but have to give others their turn too.
Here is my theory. Right and Left Nut got tangled in a fisherman's net and some penguins got them out. For saving their lives they came to hunt the great white sharks that was killing the penguins.
There is a documentary of the seal population and the GWS of Ferallon Islands (Sorry I do not have a link, I saw it on TV once). People are on the island to study the GWS and the seals for years and they found out that for some reason in some years there were no GWS to find in the whole region. They marked some of them and in a certain year they recognized that the marked shark just went deep and in the width of the Pacific for no reason. Then they got film material from a tourist boat in witch they saw an Orca killing a GWS and they concluded that it had to be the reason why the GWS fled the region. In test they found that the particles (blood and other fluids) of a killed shark triggers the other sharks to flee, because there has to be a predator who hunts them. So they fled the region and came back the next year or years later! Killing a shark is easy for an Orca. He just has to hit him once, then he turns him around so the shark paralyzes and holds him in place so the shark drowns (sharks have to go forward to get water in their gills)! Also they mostly hunt in groups and GWS are lone wolfs!
@@anfurqan3315 lol It's so funny how people "pick sides" when it comes to predators....I noticed a lot of people do that with Lions and Tigers. So strange, why not just appreciate them both?
It’s not highly unusual for them to collapse.. its a lot more common in captured orcas because it’s caused from gravity. But for wild orcas it’s usually because they’ve been sick and been forced to stay at the surface ... but makes sense how they are targeting livers for their vitamins
No it is not because gravity. Wtf. Some guys have to listen; it's because of a lot of stress so probably sth happened to their pod or themselves. Every orca in sea world captivity have collapsed dorsal fins. In the ocean it's uncommon. Most of the time it's just leaning sideways a bit.
"In may, three more carcasses appear" They made it sound like the orcas were making the sharks go extinct. TV crew "Lets not mention the impact that humans do to sharks per year." An estimated 100 million per year killed by humans
I was surprised to see wild orca with collapsed dorsal fins. I want to have my own SeaWorld, but first I need to something for the ORCAS well being and something they need so they can live long and happy.
It's very weird that those orcas had severe dorsal collapse. I wonder if those two are still out in the sea today... Animals are smart. Dolphins are known to attack sharks, and orcas are giant dolphins. But it's cool they dived deeper to see how it was done.
Their mental state has nothing to do with a fin( that serves to stabilize)collapsed. In the ocean, the dorsal fin can collapsed to physical trauma or excessive exposure on the surface and not in the water. In captivity it is probably due to pressure difference (because the sea is deeper than a swimming pool and makes more pressure). The collapse of the fin only happens in adult males and not females, in addition, that fin has no bones, so it moves easily like jelly and can easily collapse. Pd:Part of Asia(like Russia)still capturing orcas saddly. Sorry for my bad english

But they eat dolphins. The same with me.
But dolphins are also whale lol, a toothed whale, whale is the name for large mammals that live in the sea / cetaceans
It'll kill any great white out there with relative ease.

AllAhabNoMoby it is not bigger they are in groups so they can kill anything
Elie Saba: Orca's are bigger than Great Whites. By far. "Killer whales are the largest extant members of the dolphin family. Males typically range from 6 to 8 metres (20 to 26 ft) long and weigh in excess of 6 tonnes (5.9 long tons; 6.6 short tons)." From Wiki: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killer_whale#Appearance_and_morphology
Great Whites rarely get to 6 metres. 16 feet (slightly less than 5 metres) is a big one. Also, Orca's are much heavier than Great Whites even at the same length. There has never been a Great White that weighed 6 tonnes, a weight an Orca reaches routinely. So it really is bigger in every way.

@Ellie Fuller not really mate, Bruce is very different to any other great white out there and not in just size, like I said he is also much smarter.
Orca looks thicker and heavier. They probably bash tackle the shark to death. Not to mention the smartest animal
Nah some white sharks get bout the same size as killer whales
Yeah orcas rely on their size advantage in most of their hunts (though usually against smaller marine mammals). They're three times the size of large adult GWS. Considering that sharks aren'y instinctive at all, this is not "brain and brawn wins over just brawn", but "brawn and brain (the orca, smart and strong) wins over just brain (the shark, also smart but lacking in raw power)".
There is no evidence the orcas involved here actually turned the sharks over to induce tonic immobility. Nobody actually saw them do it, they just found dead sharks with orca bite marks.

th-cam.com/video/yzr7SPJ7woU/w-d-xo.html
Just my own opinion, but it seems like these 2 are outcasts(due to aforementioned reasons) from a bigger pod, therefore they have occupied this bay, as there are no great dangers and access to food, in this case sharks, is fairly easy. Orcas are truly incredible and intelligent animals, compared to sharks they are ruthless killers. Sharks just literally kill their pray within seconds and minutes- couple bites and thats it, no time to feel fear even. Orcas can torture their prey for hours. Watch their hunting videos, no joke..
th-cam.com/video/yzr7SPJ7woU/w-d-xo.html
ah just sharks, dont mind if we do.
Outcasts ? For having their fin flopped over due to stress ?
It's not necessarily torture, they are mostly just very smart hunters. A great white will just rush in and bite without second thought, whereas the Orca will minimise the risk for himself since he is smaller and thus physically more vulnerable. They often want to wear down the pray to get an easier kill. Then there's also the fact that they have to share the food within their group, meaning that they can't just eat as fast as possible, but have to give others their turn too.
Orcas are the ocean animal equivalent of brutal death metal music.
When a Great white is considered an easy prey for an Orca with physical problems, you realize how powerful the Willy actually is
Here is my theory.

Yeah try to explain that to those sharky fanboys :D
As I recall from the documentary, hundreds of GWS disappeared from the area, only to show up in Hawaii much later.

Orcas are amazing. They're a mix of the best of so many animals. They have size, intelligence and social skills. Quite the unstoppable force.

Together we stand divided we fall!
