Our group was snorkeling altogether watching a baby whale playing at the surface while the mother was checking about 5meters right under us. When time to play was over mother slowly came to the surface extremely close to us (I could have touched her with my hand). Of course we didn't move at all and stayed altogether the whole time as it is recommended by the authorities.
We are talking about a 20 meters long animal weighing 30 tons, yet it swam around us at the surface absolutely perfectly so that none of us was harmed.

We humans act differently because we are different. We know what our ancestors have done to eachother so in this day and age you won't see many people helping eachother out because we tend to mind our own business and stay in the "hive-mind" way of thinking.

SpoooonsNsporks lol maybe, I guess! Hard to compare the two also because one side has way more research and ease of research. Aside from zoologists researching gorillas you also have anthropologists researching gorillas so gorillas probably have among the best documented intelligences out there, meanwhile, whales are in the ocean and can’t be held in any single container that keeps them healthy mentally, which makes it really hard to gauge their intelligence... I put this on gorillas tho just cuz I like them a bit more. Still probably, aside from humans, my two fav animals.

animals have always had better instincts than humans and and offer unconditional love which is pretty much impossible to find in humans
