My ITB 2.0 16v Mk2 GTI is done | POV drive (Insane intake noise)

- In this video we go check out Matthew's 16v Mk1 on the dyno followed by checking out my 16v on the dyno again... We made some adjustments and it ended up changing things. We go to the dyno for a sanity check and end up losing our sanity there. 😂
I finally get to take the car home and have my first proper drive in it. I am in love. A huge thank you to RR Performance mods & JVS tuning for getting me sorted.

Intake noise > exhaust noise. Sounds incredible, gives off biiiiig Initial D vibes. I have no idea what your plans are for this car, but you should build it to rage in the mountains!
It's going to be a track day car that I occasionally take to the mountains. Once I'm happy with the setup and know my limits, I'll be hitting up the passes for sure.
There should be a "I love this thing" counter on this video😂. Sounds freaking sweet bro. Can we please get some pov pulls of this a robot racing even if its not winning, though im sure it will run some roofs off but mainly just for the sound🔥

Nothing like building a car and falling in love with your work. I'm personally not a fan ouf the ITB induction noise under low load. But at wot they are just out of this world. Now you got best of both worlds. And you've surpassed the stock power of the motor. An old motor at that.
That ITB racket at low rpm is a bit much, I agree. At WOT it makes up for it. And yes, it makes more power than a ABF which is good because this setup cost me a little more than buying a import motor so that's a win in my book.

Watching Jody work is such a treat. Bro has a finely tuned hand for motors. Pun intended. I know you said she’s not fast but she’s defs no slouch. Oh my days what a sound. It’s giving e92 m3 downshifting. Bravo Lorenzo.
It's definitely not slow, once it's moving in 3rd and 4th it's really not bad. But we always want more. 😅 And I hear you about those E92 downshifts. BMW guys are going to be beating their chest about this comment. 😂
Lastly, Jody is really impressive. The way he can just hear that it's not right is mind blowing to me. Because what I was hearing and what he heard was totally different. lol. He knows 16v's really well.
@@lowdl I knew I’d enjoy the n/a build once completed but I got way more enjoyment out of that POV than expected. Maybe because we’ve been starved of POV’s in Leah. ITB’s party.
@@marvinpetersen5037 I haven't done POV things in a long time. Leah just sounds boring, so it's only good if I'm driving way too fast. lol. Need to avoid those things, it will get me into trouble.

It's a 10 speed box with the way I was shifting it 🤣 and I didn't feel the power loss because I didn't drive it much after it was tuned the first time.

Yes most likely. I can't help myself from wantint more. But I want to enjoy it as it is for a while.

So between the 1.8T and the 16v, which one do you prefer?
I prefer the 16v. But the 20vt is a lot of fun but only really when I'm racing it. For normal driving it's very boring.

It's a 02s gearbox.

It's a 2.0 crank. I was a little worried about it being heavy on bearings with the way I plan on driving it.

02S gearboxes are same as 02J but 6 speed so allows for stock shafts to be used
It's a GXV 02s with a 3.9 final drive.
