  • Banana tree is the only plant which is useful to us from leaves to stem. Plantain stem is a nutritional rich veggie. It is rich in fiber and very good diet for diabetic patients too. This Plantain Stem Stew (Vazhathandu kootu) is a delicious and healthy dish. Generally many of us find it difficult or lazy to cook plantain stem because of its fibrous nature. To chop the Plantain stem, we need little more patience. We have to put more efforts to cook Plantain stem and Plantain flower, but once we are done with the chopping, then preparation of the dish is quite simple. This curd based Plantain Stem Curry is so delicious and is a perfect sidedish for any spicy Kuzhambu / rasam variety!

    Maami, I went all the way in the correct sense and made the mor Kootu just the way that was given in the recipe and it came out absolutely correct with the spice and salt content perfect 👌, thank you 🙏. I know I keep saying this but then all your recipes seem to require it from me

    Ma’am, your mor Kootu has such a fascination for my family and myself that when I saw that I have vazhaithandu, I’ve chopped it up in preparation for the mor Kootu, and I also want you to know that I make dangar and keep an amount of it after seeing your recipe, thank you 🙏

    What is the last time added while grinding?

  • @venkatalakshmisrinath4366
    @venkatalakshmisrinath4366 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ma’am, I have a variant if you don’t possess besan: soak Chana dal and rice together in hot water and then grind it with the other ingredients to make the paste. The only thing is that you have to add more water to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the vessell
