  • An easy, inexpensive recipe for Scottish Oatcakes. This is a cracker that goes well with soup, dips, salad and is great for munching on as a snack food. By Anastasia from Kind Earth.

3:28 . " If you add too much water, just add more flour" . Oooooops , too dry . Add more water. Oooooops to wet. Add more flour . . . . This is how I end up with fifty pounds of bread dough .

I made these today. Oh my. Absolutely delicious. Crunchy as well. Just what I have been missing since going whole food plant based. Thank u so much. May I ask how u store them to keep the crunch?

This recipe is one that I am definitely going to try. I do have a question > Do you think flax meal would work along with the oat flour?

Delighted to hear it. I've been asked that also on my blog post also and I have a feeling it might work as long as it's not too much flaxseed.
I often use flax for baking and imagine it might work, so I am going to do some trials next week to test out a flax version. Fingers crossed.

@@KindEarthTV I'd love to know wether it worked out or not. Also, ground flax seeds or whole flax seeds?

Mine were not crunchy but crumbly. Help!

A touch more moisture in there perhaps (water or oil - just a little) - make sure when you are rolling you get a consistency that sticks together and that the oats are ground. I hope that helps - good luck - they are definintely worth it.

Hi I’m a diabetic and was wondering if I could substitute 1/2 of the oat flour with oat fiber, it has no carbohydrates.
    Thank you.

I honestly don't know for sure, but I imagine it would work. Worth trying, for sure.
