EATING THE FULL JOLLIBEE MENU CHALLENGE | BeardMeatsFood

  • One man...Every item on the Jollibee UK menu...
The Philippine's finest fast food export has recently arrived in England in full force, so when I heard a restaurant had opened up in my home town recently, it seemed like the perfect excuse for a long overdue 'full menu challenge'.
I ordered at least one of every single item available on the Jollibee UK menu. Keep in mind that the menu will likely be different to those on offer in international territories. It is also not particularly extensive. In addition; of course I didn't order all the bundles or variations of buckets, since they're simply combinations of the individual items available on the menu. The only item unavailable was the mango sundae, but it's ostensibly the same as the chocolate one just with different sauce anyway.

ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS & ADDITIONAL INFO:
Q: How come you don’t get fat?
A: I eat like this for 1 hour of a 168 hour long week. In simple terms, I eat at caloric maintenance over the course of time, meaning I don’t gain weight. If you're interested in learning more, see the ‘But How Come You're Not Fat' and 'It Was Just A Normal Day...' videos.
Q: Don’t you worry about your health?
A: Not in particular. I’m active. I eat nutrient dense foods five days a week. And, I get quarterly bloods done, amongst other health checks.

Love the videos! Greetings from the Philippines!
Little context for the burger patty with rice: Filipinos eat everything with rice. Rice is basically the other half of the meal along with the main dish. So what goes well with rice? Gravy and meat, that's what. Hence the burger patty, mushrooms and gravy. It's called Burger Steak back home and would usually be swimming in gravy. Dunno why yours looked so dry.
Also yes, the hotdog is horrid, even in the Philippines. Some people like it, but those people are wrong.

From what I gather the burgers and rice is a combo found in some variety throughout the pacific. From what I understand it was popularized in the early 1900’s by locals trying to cater to American servicemen stationed throughout the Pacific. There’s a version in Korea, Japan, Hawaii, and the Philippines. They are all equally weird but have become local cuisine staples. Another good example of something similar is the Philippine version of spaghetti with hotdogs, banana ketchup and soft spaghetti noodles.

Jollibee is totally Filipino. The spaghetti is sweet and it has hotdogs in it. The beef patty with mushroom gravy and rice is also pure Filipino. That is very popular here. (I am an American, living in the Philippines) I never liked Jollibee but there is one menu item here that I like a lot. It is the peach mango fried pie. I assume the store in Leeds does not carry that item.

Hey there, fellow foodies! 🍔🍝 Just had to jump in and share my thoughts on Jollibee, coming all the way from Serbia! 🇷🇸 So, about half a year ago, I visited the Philippines with my awesome Filipina wife, and you bet we hit up Jollibee! 🇵🇭 And let me tell you, it's not just a meal - it's an experience!
First off, gotta give props to @camizzllex for pointing out that the gravy is essential. Seriously, it's like the missing piece of the puzzle. I mean, what's better than that rich, comforting gravy to balance out the flavors? And, oh boy, those patties - they give off this "Salisbury Steak" vibe that's just unique and delightful.
And let's not forget the rice - I get that some folks might find it unusual, but as an Asian cuisine enthusiast, I totally get it! 🍚 Rice is a staple in many cultures, and here it's combined with burgers and mushrooms, creating a fusion of tastes that's surprisingly satisfying. Shoutout to @baronvg for mentioning how this combo resonates with Hawaiian cuisine - it's all about embracing the mix!
Now, I totally get what @tehgringe is saying about the roots of these menu items. Jollibee originates from the Philippines, where dishes like spaghetti and rice are beloved traditions. It's all about celebrating Filipino flavors and cultural identity - and I'm here for it! 🍝🇵🇭
And last but not least, big love to @ailishbergin1257 for sharing such a heartwarming story. Congrats on your little one! 🍼 Jollibee definitely brings smiles and good vibes, and I'm stoked to be a part of the Jollibee fan club all the way from Serbia! Keep those awesome comments coming, and let's keep savoring the global culinary adventures! ✌🌍🍔🍝

Not sure if you’ve heard of a (loco moco) but it’s a staple here in Hawaii. It’s a bed of rice with hamburger steak a.k.a. “Hamburger patties” with over easy, or fried egg with gravy all over. Topped with green onions. If you want to take it a step further people add regular grilled onions and/or mushrooms. What’s not to like about that? Simple, and delicious.

  • @infinitesimal9001
    @infinitesimal9001 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

The patties with gravy over rice is a rif on the loco Moco. It's a Hawaiian thing and all of Jollibee is pacific island (Philippines mostly) influence. Filipino spaghetti is usually made with banana ketchup making it oddly sweet.

In the Philippines the chicken joy is actually the signature dish but you always eat it with gravy and never dry like you did and use the gravy as dip for the fries too.
Agree about the spaghetti. I only ordered it once and I can't stand the sweetness of it but I think it's served like that because kids in the Philippines have a sweet tooth and when adults eat it, it reminds them of when they were a kid.
As for the chicken burger, I would say it's about as good as the popeyes chicken burger but in the Philippines, the chicken burger at a fast food joint called "army and navy" is better than both of them.
