    • @levon9

      @@LocalCreative Honestly, I don't know enough about Notion and what's possible :) I definitely used your video to help me get started with a simple to-do list (3 columns with checklists/tasks for: Today, Medium-term, Long-term) and I just drag between the three columns similar to a Kanban board. Sort of similar to your first M-F example. I didn't know about making columns and the colors, so that was very helpful. I am not using databases (yet?), so I'm sure I'll get more benefit from going back to this video now that I've used Notion for a few weeks. For now I'm using Notion to keep track of various lists, and notes for things I'm learning.
      I also plan to look at templates in addition to databases.
      So while I don't have anything specific to suggest/request, just to tell you that your explanations make a lot of sense, not rushed/too slow, and you aren't talking down to anyone. (Aside: You also come across as very personable) I looked at a bunch of intro Notion videos, yours was the one that gave me actionable and concrete knowledge to use. I would definitely consume any additional Notion content that you created.

    This was SOO helpful! Thank you so much. You rock!
    Do you use the Monday - Friday section? Or just the database? i am trying to think how best to incorporate both into my work flow. Maybe just copy and paste from the database into the M-F section, and when done delete from the M-F section and mark it done in the database?

      Now I mostly use the database with a checklist on the side for quick tasks that I haven't added to my database yet. You can drag items from the checklist to the database which is helpful too!

    I love this, this is so usefull. Most videos don't show much about formulas and so. I would love to see a Toturial that has a recurring To-Do list like your Morning Routine and once its 100% compleated it would reset it self and uncheck everything off again, insted of having to type it all over or uncheck each box one by one. Is it even posible to do something like that with Notion?

    • @LocalCreative
      @LocalCreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Noted! I will definitely create more Notion videos. May I ask what you're using Notion for as an example? Business or personal use?

    • @siddharthadas1040
      @siddharthadas1040 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ambar looking for a recurring to do list shortcut myself. You don’t need to type again. Select all the completed ✅ ones and uncheck one of them, the rest uncheck themselves. Then change the date of the unticked ones you want to repeat.

    Thank you soo much for this video. So clear and to the point! I was wondering, how do make the background colour of a heading longer? Like as long as the table/column under it? I saw you just dragging the bg colour to the right, tried it too, but didn't seem to work the same way for me;)

    • @LocalCreative
      @LocalCreative  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can click the 6 dots that show up when you hover over text and then choose "color" and pick a background rather than highlighting the text. Hope that helps!

    Hi, thanks for the great tutorial. I'm currently creating on basic to-do lists like your first example. Once I've checked off a talk, is there a setting to make the completed task disappear, so that only my remaining tasks are seen? Cheers

    • @LocalCreative
      @LocalCreative  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Not for the basic to-do lists. Only databases. But you can create a simple database with a checkbox and different views to show tasks that have or haven't been done yet.

    Thanks for the great content. Do you know of a way to create a "to-do" on a page within a database and have it appear on a master "to-do" list? I take lots of notes at meetings with action items (to-do). I like having the action items within the meeting notes, but it would be helpful if I could tag them somehow to automatically appear as individual items within the database.

    • @LocalCreative
      @LocalCreative  ปีที่แล้ว

      One idea would be to create a separate database with a template for your notes that includes a linked view of your general task database. So that way while you're taking meeting notes you can add tasks directly to your main database. Hope that helps!

    Your video is very helpful. Is this possible to do with data coming from different databases?

    • @LocalCreative
      @LocalCreative  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not possible at this time, but you can add relations between databases or use their new project management functionality which allows tasks to be nested in projects.

    Hello, first of all great tutorial. Thank you for that.l have a question for you. How did you pull in your to do list into your linked database?

    • @LocalCreative
      @LocalCreative  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When you first create your table, you can choose which database to pull content from or create a new database. They've updated this in the last year or so. I'll try to make a follow up video soon.

    I have been using your version for a month now. Thanks a ton for making this :) though I can't see the done pop-up. I must get into the task to view and check/uncheck it. No clue why...

    • @LocalCreative
      @LocalCreative  ปีที่แล้ว

      You just need to add the "done" property to your database view so that way it shows up without you having to click into it. Hope that helps!

    This was really helpful. I am new to notion. Is there a way to create a master to do list. I have a few project tasks lists that I organize for each business. Is there a way for those tasks to link to one master to do list without having to renter data twice?

    • @LocalCreative
      @LocalCreative  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I recommend you have as few databases as possible. You can keep everything in one task database and link to related database records like project name. Or just use tags to add project names.

    • @LocalCreative

      Yes, you can do this by having a linked database that links to your tasks database inside of your meeting notes. Let me know if that helps!

    How can we automatically list all to dos mentiond on multiple pages in a to do list page to track them centrally

    • @LocalCreative
      @LocalCreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You want to start with all of your to-do tasks in one database instead of multiple databases and then use linked databases to display them on different pages using the filters to only show specific tasks. Then you'll have one master database to refer back to. Hope that helps!

    This tutorial is awesome, you explained how to use notion so well. I was wondering is there a way to link the simple to do list to the linked database below?

    • @LocalCreative
      @LocalCreative  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could drag the items from the simple to do list into a database if you'd like, but they are separate unless you do that. Hope that helps! Glad you enjoyed the Notion tutorial.

    • @LocalCreative
      @LocalCreative  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, definitely possible. You create a new database view to show all completed tasks based on a checkbox or specific status you set.

    hey great video! can I ask, do you have to start a new to do list and delete old ones? or is it possible that when it checks off it clears out automatically?

    • @LocalCreative
      @LocalCreative  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You'll have to create databases for this. Or create a new database entry for each week with a new to-do list.
