    Glad to see you wait until snow is on the ground to burn the brush pile. I always did. As a firefighter, I wish everyone waited.

    Dan at the end of this video the bonfire looked like lava going over the ground excellent work and video 😮😊❤

    Hi Dan, Glad to see you have come to discover another use for your leaf blower. Oxygen supports combustion. The more oxygen, the more combustion. Ever hear of an Oxygen Lance or Burning Bar? The concept is to use a torch to get a material hot, and then turn off the gas and increase the Oxygen. Steel mills use them to cut up giant ingots. They will even cut through concrete because everything will burn, if, you get it hot enough. Just be careful not to melt your leaf blower. I use a dryer vent pipe as an extension for that. 😊 Shalom/gw

    We attended a nice bonfire awhile back. When first lit the flames were like 100’ high! Dry cedar branches will do that.

      I was gonna try the top down, but decided to go with the middle down method...hahahaha....glad I had put the tarp on though, that made the difference getting it going.

      It can take a long time but is crazy how it all just disappears and is gone. Just went out and pushed the few remaining chunks together and it wasn't even 2 mins and they were back burning again. But today it's much colder so I won't be out enjoying it like yesterday...lol....Go Pack! Ha

      Heck yeah it was too dang cold out to do anything else, just like today and now tomorrow...ugh. The sledding run was fun....little rough once the snow at the bottom melted from the fire....hahahahaha

    hi looks like a deer roast , or not . your secret should be Don . isn't amazing how so much turns into so little .every time i have a bond fire although i enjoy it in the back of my feeble little mind i am thinking of all the BTUs that could have been heating my boiler , , and yes a do have a boiler with a 15# working psi , and safety valve and low water cut off . want to see you on the sled , best to all ,john

      It is crazy how that huge pile is now pretty much gone...and yes, there were a LOT of BTUs put off during the afternoon from that pile.

    I like the body positioning with the leaf blower! It was everything you had to hold yourself from blowing backwards!😮 It could have possibly been used to power the sled back up the hill each time!👍
    You could have taken several bucket loads from the rotten campfire pile and dumped then on as well!🔥🔥

    Great Video as always Dan. Yes perfect Weather Conditions to do it. Keep you Warm and Free up some Space for your next project. Here in New York they make you get a Permit to Burn. Then they Ban you from Burning anything from Mid March to Mid May. In Fact I am going down Back today to pick up some Branches today to keep it Picked up. To many Laws in New York where we Live.       Good morning Ron....the stipulation for our county is if there is I think 3" or more of snow on the ground you don't need a permit. So it was nice to the snow on Friday so there was enough to light the pile up.

    U can put a rice bag heated up and toss in the cooler bag to really keep it warm

    I know cows will eat the charcoal from fires to help against parasites, I am not sure if deer will do the same.

      Cattle don't know anything about parasites. They eat it because it tastes good because it is high in minerals and their diet is short of minerals. Civil war soldiers ate wood ashes with their food. They could walk 50 miles per day.

    Get your self a steak and a grill. Set it up at the edge of the fire where the coals are. And cook a nice steak over the wood coals. Yummie.

      Yeah if there's big chunks they'll burn for days...I went out and pushed what was left into a pile and within a few mins it was off and burning again.

    Your hardcore pro sledder there had a really great question: "Did you call the fire department?" which as a vol firefighter I gotta commend him for asking. Very glad that was asked. the safety around the burn looked great and appeared to be a success. Great job. enjoy the much needed snow.

    Yes you finally had the right conditions to take care of the excess brush. You certainly had better conditions than Woodruff Woods had for his bonfire. Looked like an all day burn, what time did you get started?

      We started around 8:30 in the morning...and the big coal bed was still burning good at 8:00 that evening. The little breeze we had really helped keep the big stuff burning.

    Did you run any rabbits out of the brush pile when it started ginning good? Buddy and I were cutting wood along the railroad tracks one winter on a day like today. He lit a brush pile on fire while we had a cold beverage and once the fire got ginning good we counted 9 rabbits run out of the brush pile.

    To get that fire going you’re going you need diesel fuel and a pump sprayer and soak it all and then you can keep spraying it while it’s going

      That was going to be my backup plan, but didn't need to....there was plenty of small dry branches mixed in that took off once I hit it with the leaf blower.

    I always burn my brush piles with snow on the ground or even when it’s raining. Helps control the burn and not nearly the possible impact of a wildfire

      Without snow we need a permit to burn, but there's no way I would've wanted to burn that pile without snow....both on the ground and the pile...lol...it would've gone up quick and been risky.
