But tbf, it had good writing that focuses on the more important things like actual plot and characters with motivations. It has some DEi stuff in the relationship, but didn't make it the only trait of the character, that's why it succeeded.

I made the mistake of playing outer worlds when it came out. One of the worst games I've ever played. All the woke shit aside, the game was a $60 scam. It's like 4 hours worth of content, content that was boring and extremely unoriginal. I came away from that game depressed. Not because it's story, but because I've never played such a terrible piece of shit in my life. I didn't know it was possible for something to suck that badly.
Dang it was really bad? I remember getting it when it released as well. I only played it for like 2 hours and never found myself sitting down to play it again after that lol so never got a chance to see what it was like. Just wasnt interesting and the loot system was boring too.

Can you explain the anti-religion part of your comment? Feels like a very common plot point in a dark fantasy setting, not unlike scenes we've seen in stuff like Game of Thrones. Secondly, the trailer never portrayed the villagers as being "good" people, as Ciri pointed out that they were all monsters for doing this. I mean, even in real history, middle ages and medival people did messed up stuff. It's just a story.

Japan very much so still understands that we want video games because that’s what helps us escape reality. I do think that the western games will eventually return to normalcy, but it’s going to take some time. Okay but for real though Ciri being the main character for The Witcher 4 was kind of a no brainer after the way Witcher 3 ended in Blood and Wine. Almost all of the base game was hyping her up to take the role from Garalt as well. I'm also sure that CDPR was planing this LONG before the DEI shitshow started. I just worry that the game itself will suffer for it though.
It's not because it's Ciri, I'm sure lots of Witcher fans would have loved a game with Ciri, it's because that generic thing in the "Witcher" 4 is NOT Ciri. Doesn't look like Ciri at all, doesn't sound like her, doesn't have her abilities, and yes Ciri was a Witcher, but not an actual normal Witcher. I played several times as Ciri in Witcher 3, and it was quite good. But imagine a modern version of that type of combat, with the REAL Ciri, that would have been great. And imagine the possibilities of what they could have done with a game with the REAL Ciri in. Instead whoeever the "modern audience" is, are getting a game not with REAL Ciri, but with a generic female Witcher that they just call Ciri because of marketing or whatever the reason is. That in the announcement video is NOT Ciri.
If you played Witcher 3 it was obvious that Ciri was going to become a Witcher. 99% of female protagonist are dei slop but this is not woke she was a well written character and Witcher 4 will be great. Maybe Mafia but I’m on the fence due to how badly they fucked up 3 which I refused to even play. Just gonna enjoy past games until all these losers and leeches go bankrupt or fired. The thing about woke games stopping is that a lot of these games take years to develop and are too far into development. It's gonna take a few years to start seeing these games change.

As game developers from CDPR said in the recent interview, during the developemnt of The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt they were already discussing about Ciri being possible protagonist of next Witcher game (so before 2015), then after last DLC to the TW3 (2017) they already knew that it will be about Ciri. So please calm down, also just a female as main character doesnt mean its automatically woke... She looks like she is "strong independent woman", but with her powers that we could see in TW3, the thing about her being main protagonist may be an exception that I am able to accept.

To be fair, Ciri was a HUGE character in the Witcher books. If they want to focus on her, there is books worth of precedent of the author doing exactly that. She has a pretty tragic story, and I'm hoping they do it justice

Okay but for real though Ciri being the main character for The Witcher 4 was kind of a no brainer after the way Witcher 3 ended in Blood and Wine. Almost all of the base game was hyping her up to take the role from Garalt as well. I'm also sure that CDPR was planing this LONG before the DEI shitshow started. I just worry that the game itself will suffer for it though.
It's not because it's Ciri, I'm sure lots of Witcher fans would have loved a game with Ciri, it's because that generic thing in the "Witcher" 4 is NOT Ciri. Doesn't look like Ciri at all, doesn't sound like her, doesn't have her abilities, and yes Ciri was a Witcher, but not an actual normal Witcher.
I played several times as Ciri in Witcher 3, and it was quite good. But imagine a modern version of that type of combat, with the REAL Ciri, that would have been great. And imagine the possibilities of what they could have done with a game with the REAL Ciri in. Instead whoeever the "modern audience" is, are getting a game not with REAL Ciri, but with a generic female Witcher that they just call Ciri because of marketing or whatever the reason is.

Man you are hating on Witcher 4 for no reason, I am not a DEI supporting guy and I hate the other games announced as much as you do but I think just because the company is hiring woke people doesn't make the game itself woke, Ciri can't be a witcher as per lore sure but Man Witcher 3 literally set it up that Ciri will be the next protagonist, and never forget the entire Trilogy of Geralt actually revolved around her so she is a well established character and remember playing as Ciri in Witcher 3 was fun.
I am a nobody, but I have taken it upon myself to learn Unreal 5.4 and make a good game I would actually want to play. I’m looking forward to getting it completed in my free time. Wish me luck doods.

As game developers from CDPR said in the recent interview, during the developemnt of The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt they were already discussing about Ciri being possible protagonist of next Witcher game (so before 2015), then after last DLC to the TW3 (2017) they already knew that it will be about Ciri. So please calm down, also just a female as main character doesnt mean its automatically woke... She looks like she is "strong independent woman", but with her powers that we could see in TW3, the thing about her being main protagonist may be an exception that I am able to accept.
I agree with this. Personally i think Ciri was the natural choice for the next main character after Geralt. It is a sign of caution that it could be woke but it doesnt necessarily mean that it is. Im not a massive fan on how she looks now but i get she is meant to be older
